Western front german trenches were usually real great, dry and stuff, the Entente trenches were very muddy. The eastern front just didn't stop.

@@dragonmerchant recently I got transverse myelitis which is inflammation of the spinal cord so you can’t move anything. Anyway I was about to walk out the door to go to school and a pain shot through my shoulders and my fingers stopped move I tried and tried but would move and I sat down to try to release myself because I was stressed and I tried to stand and I just fell so my mom called an ambulance the paramedics were ass btw and I went to the hospital and I was on the verge of giving up and doing nothing but there songs motivated me to keep going and I’m making really good recovery and I actually stood with help but I stood!
Sabaton has a special place for me. It's just how they perform well and have a good sense of humor for people like me. They perform well, they have a good sense of humor, they all have something special about them. But most of all they are sabaton.

I love playing 'Dreadnought', 'The Red Baron', 'Great War' and '82nd All the Way', all back-to-back. It's like telling the story of WWI in badass metal.
I love the definitive yet ultimately futile declaration of "there will be no encore", echoing how the optimistic people of that era thought that this would be a war so cruel and grand that nothing would ever come close for centuries. Boy how wrong they were, and how right we wish they were.

Even if WWIII was to happen, it's highly unlikely they would make a song based on it. They don't like doing current events as they want to ensure they are accurately covering what happened. With modern events, it's often difficult to get accurate reports from all sides as to what happened. I am pretty sure the most historically recent song they have done is Reign of Terror which covers Operation Desert Storm and that was almost 30 years ago.

In the current day and age, there are some events everybody knows a different version of and making a song about it *will* make someone out there angry and call them something like a politic band. Even older wars are still kind of hard to make a accurate enough representation of, as the records for those are problematic too. History as a whole, especially war history is a pain when you are not sure which sources are accurate and objective.
this song shows that war is not fun and games like video games/movies show it as. war is a terrible thing because it involves massive loss of life and many suffer the aftermath more than the soldiers themselves

i think that SABATON has captured something special even a touch of mystical of how they blend metal and true accounts of war and combine them in a "telling of a story"... a war song that reflects the honor the sacrifice of so many people that have died in the cause of their country
