Ace of Base was popular in the 90's, I love how they incorporate this in to X97 episode 5. It really raises the nostalgia factor and puts it with the time it should have came from.

X-Men 97 serving us nostalgia! It really has really gifted us some quality gems. I’m stoked Ace Of Base are getting more flowers again. As a child born bang on the start off the 90’s, Ace Of Base eventually became a big part of my formative memories and the music of my childhood here in New Zealand. So happy they are getting more recognition in 2024!. As for Rogue in that red dress…. Yes girl!. I also highly recommend listening to more Ace Of Base, not just this song. So many good tracks in their artillery “All That She Wants” is probably my favourite.

- I know right? The lyrics are so evocative of the season. It makes me think of Magneto's aspirations for Genosha and Prof. X's ideals and Rogue's feelings of wanting to help Erik lead Genosha. It has lyrics that relate to Cable and Gambit too. It almost makes me wonder if Beau DeMayo built the season around the idea of this being the song that proceeds the devastation that hits Genosha. I can't help but fanboy about how brilliant it was that they chose this song.

- I know right? The writers literally couldn't have chosen a better song even if they wrote one. The lyrics to Happy Nation relate to Genosha, Magneto's views, Gambit's death, Rogue's dance with Magneto, even Cable (he's traveling through time during this song). It's also a 90s song so it is time period accurate. I can't get over how perfect it fits.
