"Eminem if he were a theater kid" is one of the most unintentionally brutal things melon has ever said
But it’s so accurate
@Operation: Heavener And still is today. Eminem rapped about those things on Music To Be Murdered By as well.
What would Eminem be without struggle and an alter ego that says zany things?
@@martytu20 Hmmm…SSLP, MMLP, MMLP2, The Eminem Show, Relapse…

Cant really fault someone too much for writing the music they like. Clearly NF enjoys doing this style. And when i first heard this new album, it came off as driven by his changing life circumstances. Becoming a parent and whatnot.
but you can clearly see that he hit the plateau. this new album seems like a copy of his previous album but with a slightly different theme. musically there's almost no difference but when it comes to lyrics he's become a little bland, boring and predictable. I like the fact that he's getting better at dealing with his issues and that he's in a happy place in his life but what made him interesting in the first place is his shtick of being this broken guy that goes through the hardships in life and is trying to understand his mind and it's responses to the horrible outside reality. Without it he's just a ... I don't even know just a regular pop artist with a christian twist. I can even predict what his next album is going to be about. it's going to be about him raising his kid, comparing him raising them up with his own childhood and how he is thankful to god for his family and how it gives him inspiration etc etc, while bitching how he's so unique and how other rappers only rap about money and bitkhes (when literally no rapper does that anymore). literally there's only 2 songs out of this album that I would probably listen to everyday. mediocre. can't say more about it and I'm gonna be very surprised if I'm wrong and he actually comes up with a banger album next but I doubt it
@@accountnew7030no one is going to read that
@A T I love that you said no rapper raps about money and bitches anymore but literally probably every rapper you listen to does. New car, New hoe, New necklace, and you love hearing about it😂

Not for NF, but definitely for the title song HOPE
This is what you can literally say for any white rapper... that tries to be a lyricists... IT's so fucking racist
I completely understand the temptation to compare NF to Eminem given their shared love for rap and their similar styles, particularly in NF's earlier work. However, it's important to note that while Eminem and NF share some similarities in their style and subject matter, they also have significant differences in their approach, tone, and content. Comparing them as if they were interchangeable ignores these distinctions and misrepresents their artistic visions. Moreover, it perpetuates the false notion that all white rappers are interchangeable or that they owe their success solely to their race, rather than their talent, hard work, and dedication. Both Eminem and NF have grown and evolved as artists over the years, and only surface-level similarities remain between their music. Eminem has experimented with different styles, themes, and sounds, while NF has transitioned from his earlier style, which heavily drew inspiration from Eminem's aggressive delivery and storytelling, to a more personal, emotional, and melodic approach. It's important to acknowledge and appreciate their growth and diversity as they continue to explore and push the boundaries of their art. Both Eminem and NF have carved out unique paths in the rap world, and it's through their individuality and creativity that they have gained their own loyal fan base's. Therefore, rather than focusing on surface-level similarities or outdated comparisons, it's more fruitful to appreciate their respective talents and contributions as they continue to evolve and inspire future generations of artists. I believe that dismissing NF as simply "Eminem if he was a theater kid" is disrespectful to both men, who are grown and successful in their fields. It's important to appreciate and celebrate their individuality and unique contributions to the world of rap music.

NF is actually my favourite musician. Not my favourite rapper, but i like his music style. I like his singing. And the concert i went on was, damn, it was a blast. Really, really good. Although there are some parts i don't enjoy about him. My teeth are gritting when i hear that high pitched voice in some of the songs. The Hope album isn't very deep in meaning, but i think it adds very well to his dicsography. There is some evident growth as a human, especially the song MAMA agains How Could You Leave Us in 2016. Regardless, this is one of the albums i enjoy, i like to return to it and even there is the one song that i hate, and it has not enough SUFFICE. Damn. The biggest problem I see people have with him being he is basically almost not evolving. But, the thing with this album is, it is a getaway to the second half of 2010's for me. And i very much enjoy it. I think this album is enjoyable, i can't really judge him for making the music that he himself likes. I do too.
I get what your saying, but this entire album is him closing his ways that were shown in the search, especially running, shows that hes done, so we'll see what his next album is
I disagree with this analysis, but I understand where he's coming from. Fantano is speaking directly about the music itself, which is his job. Musically it is the same stuff we've heard from Mansion, to Clouds. Conceptually it's miles different however. This album (as all of NF's albums) are made for his fans, not the industry. That's the point he was trying to make throughout this album. When he talks about not being an industry clone, he means that he could push his musical boundaries, but that's not what he makes music to do. He doesn't make music for the recognition of his peers. He makes music to speak to those who really listen to him. I'm not saying you should listen to him, but he makes music for those who do. People from the outside, who don't care about what he has to say, will see monotony in him musically (Fantano). Which is 100% understandable. But for those who have been in really dark places in life and followed NF as he poured his demons out on songs over the last 10 years, this album is his Magnum Opus. For all of those fans who related to the things he's gone through and written about, this album proves to everyone that there is a light on the other side. The album is titled Hope, not because NF is hopeful for anything, but to show all of his fans who he knows go through similar problems, that they need to hold on to Hope. That you will always find your way out of dark places if you work hard enough to. Yes musically this is everything we have heard before, and I'm not arguing with the review in any way. But this album was never created for the Fantanos of the world. It was created for everyone who has been on this journey with him for years, who actually care about the struggles he goes through, and feel like we can connect with him and his journey through his music. This one meant a lot to his fans.
Yea as a fantano stan, I can get behind this, well articulated 👍

Didn't read all of this but I agree with u. NF is basically doing it for the fans
I'm pretty sure Fantano understands that, though. Lol. Like he literally mentioned that he understands how some people may connect with it. So it seems like you don't disagree with his analysis at all. Lol
Shame his fanbase is the worst and can’t form an opinion.
I do not care what anyone says, this is my favorite album of all time!

Any chance of you doing a review of Lloyd Banks new album The Course of The Inevitable III? Curious to hear your thoughts on it
Its a personal journey for him and others like him. Your exactly the type of person that he talks about. Its a journey not for everyone but for those on that journey its a beautiful ride! His music has been a huge part of me saving my life, turning it around and now living a life i never could have imagined! THANK YOU NATE 😇👍🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫🤫
he’s a music critic. its in the name. the job description is to critique music.
I’m a huge nf fan (obviously) and although I liked this album and don’t necessarily agree with everything you said pertaining to the album/nf I do respect where you’re coming from. I can’t speak for others but I do appreciate the fact that you actually made valid points and gave actual constructive criticism as opposed to the usual nf haters who hate just to hate without any legitimate reason. I think he went for something “different” with this album…(and when I say different I mean different FOR HIM and the kind of music he has put out in the past) and I think it worked for those who aren’t normally nf fans/didn’t work for those who have been nf fans. Either way, I liked it and hope to see him succeed bc if ‘he sounds like all the other artists do’ then I’d still rather see him at the top for a change bc at least the content is more respectable. That’s just my thoughts tho.
I liked the album personally
stop being racist
Same
Loved it too. Don’t agree with points made in this vid. Misses the boat but o well.
....Someone needs deliverance...
how in anyway is this album or any of the songs on it related to Eminem or sounding anything like Eminem has realized in the past?
How is it not?
If this was called “HOPE you come home, the kids miss you” it would’ve been given a 10. Nah for real though I’m a huge NF fan and I actually really loved this album, I thought it was a bit more diverse than his most recent stuff but you also make really valid points. I agree he does act like what he’s doing is revolutionary to the industry, which it isn’t. Not gonna stop me from enjoying his music though I still really love this album. I would like to see a complete reinvention though and for him to work with other producers outside of the one he works with.
Lol
I disagree with the opinion that he acts like his music is revolutionary. He just isn’t in step with the shallow aspects of the music industry, and simply wants to live his life.
Well if anything I stand with you✊
Just because NF stands for Nice Friend doesnt mean you have to give him a 10, Anthony.
yes it does tfym fake ass fan
Feels more like hating on him is the trend, so both fans and haters are kinda brainless
@@allanqueme4608 okay buddy
What makes NF's "Clouds" album a mixtape? Back in my day a mixtape was either an album with various songs from various artists that a DJ mixes together or it was an album that rappers made rapping over other artists instrumentals. I'm confused as to why NF called "Clouds" a mixtape.
First time i heard an NF alboum and as a HUGE eminem fan, i liked it🔥 Dont know y he dosent like it🤷♂️

@@PasteurizedLettuce idk what about you, but i would take listening to NF every day over most mainstream new rappers, like i would rather hearing "hope" than hearing travis yell "FIEN" into the mic for 3 minuts stright🤷♂️
@@yotammatsliah5094 Travis is a much better artist than NF lmao but they’re operating in completely different subgenres. What you don’t like is trap. Just go listen to Kendrick Lamar or JID or someone who can actually rap
Every time I hear an NF song my brain goes "I swear I've heard this before" and I know I haven't but I can't shake that feeling. Like, it's not bad music. It's just... so familiar.
it’s not bad, just incredibly mediocre
same like all your fav rappers
@@anasg2419 All my favorite new rappers Like JID, KAAN, Kenny Mason, Grip, Nostrum Grocers, Elucid, Billy Woods, Navy Blue, etc. all have extremely unique and well crafted bodies of work. NF does not. NF has some of he most generic cookie cutter "KZhead lyrical miracle" and "I only listen to Eminem, Logic, Hopsin, Joyner Lucas, token, and Tom Macdonald vibes". He's just not very good imo.
@@myjciskate4 It's unfortunate that some in the rap audience in the US are more focused on glorifying thuggery and drug use, rather than recognizing the true artistry in music. This is particularly evident in the popularity of certain rappers who rely heavily on explicit content to gain success. However, to say that NF's success is solely due to his white and religious fan base is simply untrue. His talent and unique style have earned him a dedicated following of fans from all backgrounds who appreciate his artistry and message and his last album outsold taylor the creator himself so don't try to compare nf with dax or token or hopsin etc.. these guys ain't close to his numbers or success. As for some of the respected rappers in the US, it's important to acknowledge that their popularity may be due to the current state of the rap industry and audience's tastes, rather than their true talent as artists. While some may enjoy the repetitive beats and autotune of certain rappers, there are others who crave the substance and emotional depth that NF brings to his music. In the end, it's all about personal preference and what speaks to each individual listener. But there's no denying that NF's talent and authenticity make him stand out among the crowd of today's rap industry.. nf still outsolding many of the rappers you mentioned if I'm not saying all of them lol
@@anasg2419 Go read my other comments. No one is talking about trap rappers or trying to compare him to trap rappers. We're comparing him to other lyrical rappers. NF is pretty much bottom of the Barrell when it comes to lyrical rappers.
I would have to disagree on this one, this made me cry and was truly heartwarming
I agree, looking through the comments it’s hard reading all the people just completely bashing it. People can have different opinions though. NF has had a lot of good tracks over the years. As long as the rap community keeps hating on him, the industry themed songs will continue as well.

I honestly enjoyed 'The Search' and 'Perception' but I do wish he would evolve a little lol. Every album has sounded more or less the same but somehow the theatre sound has gotten worse. So, ig he has evolved, but in the wrong direction
The only theatre song in this album is hope lol
@thechhexpert nahhh a lot of them are mainstream hip hop sounding
people really jus don’t like music at all smh nf makes music helping people relate it don’t matter if people like it to him or not he’s jus venting but it’s jus straight brutal to say it’s bad when millions of people go through the same thing as he does and jus some people don’t they jus discard it smh
He can make music that has good messages and that helps people but it doesn't mean that its good music.
I'm personally still amazed that we continue to make Eminem comparisons and jokes about NF at this point. They are both completely different artists in terms of message and who they cater to. NF's music comes from his ability to share his emotions and experiences in creative ways, even the experiences of others that he might not have experienced himself. His beats and production are different than Eminem's and I don't need to explain. He doesn't curse in his music, which isn't unheard of and not done before, but it's something different from what some people generally hear in rap. I'm not saying these things aren't done better by other artists, but in this review, I feel as if these are not represented to give him individuality. As a result, whether intentionally or unintentionally, the somewhat repeated Eminem comparisons, and the lack of research done to highlight NF as a creative in his own right paint him as an Eminem clone. To me, he's done crazy good numbers and has built up too much of a successful career to be seen in that light, he's earned some form of respect as an artist instead of referring to him as "Emimen if he were a theater kid".
Not swearing is not individuality its lame
@@WhyDidTheyChooseMe Please explain how not swearing is lame.
@@jmbeats3308 thinking it adds to someone is lame. Sure you can not swear but using that as a oh that makes him better is lame af. Its words and honestly anyone I met who doesn’t swear is lame and takes shit too seriously
@@WhyDidTheyChooseMe Where do I specifically say it makes him better? All I’m saying is that not swearing is a part of his music and that he like anyone else as an artist deserves respect. Also your second and third sentences are just your opinion, I disagree, but that’s your opinion.

NF is definitely not for everyone. His fans (myself included) are passionate about his music cause of the topics he writes about. Writing about what he is thinking and feeling makes it relatable to alot of people. I do admit you need to be in a certain mood for his music but no denying his talent and his drive to make the music he wants to.
