On this trip into the heart of the Island, they meet a local who takes them crabbing and shows them how to clean and cook crab Haida style. Let us know what you think
Great video! I am so glad that you took the time to discuss the issues with the introduced Sitka deer on Haida Gwaii. I was wondering how much it cost to have a guide take you to these more remote areas to hunt? I know that going further away from main roads, logging roads, and local communities is really appreciated, as it is getting harder and harder for locals to hunt deer for their own food security, so these types of remote multi-day trips are really the way to go.
Hey thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the show! We did not do a guided hunt so I’m not sure what a guide would charge but the boat ride was a few hundred bucks. I would highly recommend giving it a try it’s worth the extra few days of backpacking to get into an area with no other hunting pressure!
Jean-Marc is a pro guide? Where can I find him so I can hire his services. Great vid cheers!
He was a local that we met while on the island. Took us out fishing and dropped us off. Super cool dude, we can't wait to go visit him again this year!
He’s my dad haha, he does small private charters out of Sandspit. I can give you his email if you’re interested.
@@melaniecyr8918i would be interested in getting in contact with your father if you would be willing to share his information or company contact
@@melaniecyr8918Hi! I’d be interested in your father’s email or any contact info to get a hold of him for a drop off. Thanks!
This is on my list of hunts to do.....whats the catch with hunting on Haida Gwaii? Not able to watch the video with volume at the moment but figured I would pose the question before I forget. Cheers
Not sure what you mean by catch. There is no catch. Lots of deer and great place to visit I would highly recommend!
I know Jean-Marc, I see him up north moose hunting. Good guy.
He sure is a beauty 👍
Fuck yeah, boys. Much love from Vancouver.
Thanks Brook !
That scope ? Wanting to know what the problem was.
Hey Wayne, I fell off a tree on my way up about a 10 ft fall crossing a creek and I must have hit the scope harder than I thought when I got back home it was nearly 2 ft off at 100 yards.
Enjoy your hunting content but would be great to have less of the walking and more of the actual hunting but still very enjoyable
Thanks for the feedback Larry come back next week when we get 3 in 1 day no walking at all. Just shooting
I like cooking them hole
How do you do that?
Queen Charlotte, not Haida Gwaii.
Why is that?
