I'm excited though because I get to binge watch everything! This is probably my best discovery in the last 5 years. This is rare to find an absolute banger of a gem. @TheSpiritBeaver@TheSpiritBeaver16 күн бұрын
    • I read one negative review where a Western tourist lady who was 15-20 minutes late for a reservation; she was mad that her reservation wasn't honored. One busy nights, that place is booked solid with a line out the door. They can't let a table sit vacant for 15-20+ minutes hoping that the people with the reservation will eventually show up. And, from a cultural perspective, being on time to things is expected in Japan. It's seen as being kind of insulting to other people if you're late to an appointment. Like, don't cut things close. Plan to be there 15 min early rather than right "on time."

  • By far Uncle Rodger, your best video with one of the true best Chef's I have ever seen above Jamie Oliver and Gordan Ramzi and others with no comparison. This man is AMAZING and his skill is unmatched. I might even try to travel to have Great Uncle Motokichii make me a dish and would pay dearly for this. He comes across as a weird Uncle but you cannot at any moment not understand his greatness yet he is humble, funny and accepting but true to his calling. You can simply tell his dishes are heavenly and above other standards we have but watching him was breath taking. I applaud you for trying even a miniscule of his talent. By far the greatest guest I have seen on your show and I love your show but really. His skill, his personality, etc. He is even forever held young by this. He needs a show of his own! He is not an uncle, he is a great-uncle. I am so "youthed" by his attitude and exuberance. Bow down to him. Thank you.

  • Gotta give credit to Nigel for putting in the work to make the "Uncle Roger" character more of a character. It's like each sub milestone triggers a development mini-arc. What started as a mock of a stereotype has certainly evolved quite a bit... Also, Motokichi sensei might come across as a wee bit off kilter, but he's a literal master of his craft and makes cooing and plating omurice look way, _way_ easier than it actually is.

    • Yeah. Especially restaurants like kichi kichi where they are fully booked and work on a specific schedule. Went there last month. Every batch of customers enter the restaurant at the same time (4/5 batches per dinner). Every batch receives the same experience and performance. Being late means missing the performance and affect next batch’s times. That’s why they are so serious about the reservations and even tell customers to be there 20 minutes early. Unfortunately some people think that just because they got reservations they are entitled to arrive late and do whatever they want. Glad restaurants don’t allow that type of behavior.

  • Holy crap. Motokichi san/senpai is such a bundle of energy and lively that Uncle Roger didn't have time to be cynical. The man genuinely has a zest for life - its amazing! Hell, the stress by the end was so bad that even the face-smoothing-filters on Roger's face were like "Bro, even I need to go home now".

You've been making some of the world's greatest content for years now and I never, ever want you to stop. Your sense of humour is just so, so good and, unlike KZheadrs like Smosh and TheOdd1sOut, your content has remained fresh and funny throughout most of your career. Thanks for the great content, brother! Keep it up! Message for Uncle Roger: you should make Biryani when you reach 10 million subscribers.

Thank you for your hardwork Nigel and team! Btw if you reserved a place, especially a known place that's always full booked, it's your responsibility to calculate your arrival! Least you can do is contact them before the appointed time and ask for reschedule if possible.
