    • @@Eddy41020, obviously "Yes" if you're Cohen because it's material, relevant evidence of the crimes he pled Guilty to. Cohen's been through two rounds of prosecutions stemming from criminal investigations, both being Federal cases. The first was about the hush money, & he saved US taxpayers some money by pleading Guilty. The second case was about Trump & the Russians, & again he saved us taxpayers money by pleading Guilty. I'll say this about Cohen, he seems to have clear self-awareness. When he was working for Trump he knew they were doing crime. When he was working at Republican Party Headquarters he seems to have made an effort to keep the crimes he had already committed isolated & separated, in meaningful ways, from his work at GOP headquarters. Of course, he later lied to Congress about the Republican Presidential candidate's interactions with Moscow which is why the Feds brought a second case against him, but even so that material relationship comes up so rarely in DC politics. Cohen successfully segregated several facets of not only Trump's ethics but his business practice away from the public eye. Trump's links & personal ties with Moscow are indeed deeper than he's ever admitted to & nobody in the GOP is really taking deep, good looks into that connection, & the Democratic Party for whatever reason seems content right now to not use this issue, which still has PLENTY of open questions he has never provided answers for, as a hammer to beat Trump with.

The tape would be inadmissible evidence and the person recording without knowledge and permission of the other participant in the conversation would be guilty of a crime. I'm surprised that New York does not have the equivalent. "California's wiretapping law is a "two-party consent" law. California makes it a crime to record or eavesdrop on any confidential communication, including a private conversation or telephone call, without the consent of all parties to the conversation."

A few days ago, news came from the United States that caused a great resonance in the world. The House of Representatives has approved a law according to which the American government will be able to confiscate frozen assets of Russia. According to former CIA adviser and economic expert James Rickards, there is one point in connection with this law that few people have paid attention to. • Because we have the Internet and people can pick their side, and their news. A neutral channel would regularly annoy half its audience, and was likely only possible on the TV era, where there were few options for news. Remember media is not there to “educate.” The media is a business, and there to make money. That is why there are a zillion news stories on large plane crashes, which kill few per year, and almost none on car crashes, which kill many….because we as viewers prefer unusual things to usual things. Plus, is there such a thing as unbiased news? Or an unbiased reporter? We all have a bias, and if you think you can fully suppress it, I doubt it. The best is to watch news from varying sources (both sides) and to be clear that you have a bias. Still, the Repubs are 10x worse with their bias, and are in true lie and twisted half-truth a.ternate realities.

  • In my opinion, Honig's problem, as always, is that he rarely makes a coherent argument - even Maggie Habermann has to correct him on this by clearly pointing out that this tape will be underpinned in the later course -. as a legal expert, you always have to interpret the arguments in a logical context - phew Honig deliberately always wants to be the counterpart and raise doubts - In my opinion, he should stop doing this, because he is rarely or never successful 🤪 - who knows, maybe that's exactly his job, so that the arguments here aren't too one-sided and the channel comes across as more neutral... I prefer to rely on the sharp senses of the women Maggie Habermann & Lisa Rubin... they underline their statements - whether pro or contra - at least and at the same time offer a complex solution approach. A toast to strong ladies. 😅

    • You don't need to be a holdout to sell a story. You don't want to be caught deliberately being a holdout to make money; that would not be good. Juries always hear wittiness that works for bad guys, and the wittiness was just as bad as the person on trial. It doesn't stop the jury from believing his testimony when they heard all the other evidence, too. This jury is smart enough to know if Cohn is telling the truth. I have no doubt the jury will find Trump guilty on all charges. If funny, they talk about what type of attorney Cohn is because he recorded Trump. Cohn worked for Trump, which tells people what type of attorney Cohen was then. And that is the type of attorney Trump wanted. Trump wanted attorneys to have no ethics, not to care about breaking the law, and to have no problem lying to or deceiving anyone. That describes Trump Lover/Attorney Habba perfectly No criminal hires honest attorneys to work for them, the jury knows that.
