    • @Solitude Standing11 the nervous flow in the liver area is quite slow comparing to the cerebral one. The signal from liver area to the brain take 2-3 sec and then the brain give the signal to stop abdominal muscle contraction and cause the fall of the boxer. I don’t remember who, but a boxer said about that that the pain is completely gone after 20 sec but the referee count until to 10, so too late…

  • I got to spar with a boxer that was pro but he wasn’t a famous fighter. Keep in mind I’m a heavy weight and he’s a light weight so I thought it was gonna be cake walk because I had a stronger punch. Well let me tell you that this dude got me in the second round with a liver shot and I had never experienced anything like that in my life. Also, the pain kicks in after 2 seconds, I remember he hit me and I hit him back and by the time my hands came back to guard I just dropped to one knee. Those punches are no joke, but it was a good learning experience because it helped me keep my elbows tucked. I had gotten hit in the body before but they were never painful so I never really protected myself.

      @PJBonoVox@PJBonoVox3 жыл бұрын
    • @@PJBonoVox It's paralyzing pain that runs up the tender areas of your body, so it feels even worse. An overwhelming pain. But on top of that, a liver shot is very devastating, because the liver handles blood, and if that gets hit, you'll feel out of breath because your blood circulation won't work for a moment. Basically it puts your body into a state of shock since all of a sudden all organs can't get blood. All organs, including the brain. You're awake, but you lose focus, your body won't respond because it's trying to deal with this pain to a vital organ and vital function of the body. It stuns your body physically and mentally.

      @Supperdude9@Supperdude93 жыл бұрын
    • @@PJBonoVox when playing football, i tackled someone and fell right into they shins. The pain is very bad, I felt like I couldn't breathe and I was curled up into a ball on the ground trying to deal with the pain, your body refuses to move until the pain goes away well at least for me.

      @dantedijon1@dantedijon13 жыл бұрын
    • @@PJBonoVox The weirdest thing about it is that the pain is in a different part of your body than the parts that collapse. You definitely feel a huge pain in the spot where you got hit, like a cramp on top of muscle pain on top of blunt force trauma, but it's your legs and arms that collapse and the rest of your body just folds up. There's this moment where you realize that your legs don't hurt, you head doesn't hurt and neither do your arms, but they won't get up or do what you tell them to do, even though the pain is in another spot. That's why the guys in this video look so frustrated (and in pain) The legs that carry them and the arms that punch feel fine, but the refuse to work.

  • I remember watching the Hopkins fight live, and after De La Hoya FINALLY got up, the ringside interviewer asked him, "Oscar, it looked like Hopkins hit you just above the belt where your body was still exposed. Do you think that's what made the difference with the knockout?" De La Hoya shook his head and responded, "You know, it really doesn't matter. On the body or on the belt, if you get hit in the liver like that you are going down no matter what." That's definitely no lie.

And this was despite the fact that he was never supposed to have been very proficient at taking his AIDS-related regimen of meds. The agency that administered the failed tests in 1996 has even admitted that the particular test they used at the time was not approved. Furthermore, the doctor who administered it now even denies that he ever said Tommy actually tested positive. As a matter of fact, Tommy passed several more reliable blood tests later in life, and was even allowed to box again, though he was far from his prime at the time. It is also very interesting to note that, as sexually prolific as Tommy was reported to have been, no partner has ever been found who had the AIDS virus, nor has anyone ever come forward to declare that he gave it to them, including any of his three wives, who all had regular, unprotected sex with him. Food for thought, that's all. But it is enough to cause me to delay judgement until it all gets settled in the courts, once and for all.

In MMA, I watched Alistair Overeem in his early days in Pride and then Strikeforce, When he made his way to the UFC and was matched up with Brock Lesnar, I knew Brock couldn't win but Overeem's dominance in that fight with his stand up, his body shot to Brock was so pretty to watch Granted he popped afterwards, but still his fight plan and his kickboxing was so incredible. This is why we see some guys in pain and others immediately robbed of their energy.

  • Ive watched to many street fights and I really dunno why almost no one knows how powerful a body shot truly is. Plus allt quicker to end a fight and top it all off no one gets brain damage

    • Because they are not actual fighters. They dont even throw punches, look at videos of random street fights and both people usually do that hammer motion with their hands, they dont know any sort of punch.

  • #10 good sportsmanship from both. Tucker didnt follow up, Rodriguez gave him a short nod, acknowledging the excellent shot.

  • I had a professional boxer hit me in the body as we were all drunk. Really drunk, especially me. He kind of missed and hit my right bottom-ish rib area. Instead of like right in the middle of my abdomen where we agreed and I was preparing for. He hit me so hard, he broke my rib, and it pierced a part of my spleen. I was in the hospital for 8 days, and my spleen did not fully heal for about 10 weeks. The professional dudes have phenomenal power, and you really don't know until they really hit you.
