Joy for the Colts, for supporting mental health awareness, for his favorite former players' success, for music, and just for life. Not all sports owners realistically care about their team winning, but Irsay does. Not all sports owners care about their former players, but Irsay does. On the other spectrum, John York (owner of the 49ers) once met with Bill Walsh (circa 2005) for lunch to tell him that he should return his car to the 49ers as he was no longer on the payroll - Imagine doing that to a legend of your team and the only reason people care about the 49ers. • I think I have a new found respect for Irsay listening to this. I didn't know much about him TBH a lot of what I did know was some of the knucklehead stuff from the past. To hear him talk about his love for the game and knowing some of the old time greats and stuff sounds cool and to hear his passion for his team is awesome. Sometimes I think some of these owner are bottom line only and to gear different is cool. I know a $3m donation after tax breaks and stuff really isn't much for him he probably recoups most of that, but still he doesnt have to donate that $ but giving back can never be frowned upon, so good on him! Then again to hear him talk about getting to AZ at the end of the year is good he wants to win and he talks about seasons past with detail and that really sounds as if he's invested past the $!?!
