  • My family sold the first “Toll House Chocolate Chip Cookie” from my grandparents restaurant, The Toll House, in Whitman, MA. My grandmother and great-grandmother were close friends with Ruth Wakefield, the woman who invented the chocolate chip cookie. Selling the cookies out of the Toll House Restaurant, Toll House Cookies were a huge success!! So much so that my Dad opened the Toll House Bakery. Despite that they had nothing to do with the creation of this iconic food item, Nestle, just decided they wanted to have exclusive rights to the name “toll house cookie” because they started making chocolate chips specifically for the cookies. My grandfather went to court, and he won, but Nestle kept taking him to court again and again and eventually, my grandfather couldn’t afford the legal fees to keep winning. Today, my father still runs The Toll House Bakery in Massachusetts, but he can’t call the cookies “toll house cookies”. So sad that such a greedy company gets credit for something so near and dear to my families history.

When my 37 year old daughter was 11 months old and had been on whole milk for four months, a pediatrician told me that the American Medical Association is now recommending that babies stay on formula for at least 18 months. I walked out of the doctors office thinking, “Who paid off the AMA to tell parents babies should be on formula for 18 months?” My mother had nine children and as per her advice “You do not need to heat the bottle after the baby is five months old and at six months you slowly switch them to whole milk.”

He bought a peach orchard in Georgia and a mountain called winter mountain with an actual spring that he built a bottling plant at and bottled the water. When he found out what nestle was doing he sent a truck load to flint Michigan and printed on the bottles "this is ACTUAL spring water" and kept it on the label for several years. I think its still a thing but his family probably sold it

He was waiting at the pipe for months no sign. He also shown that the guard with guns had been shooting animals that had wandered into pipe looking for water ,water was being stolen and bottled and sold to the uk and other countries. • The bottle is a convenience thing. (but, who knows - the nurse may be earning a commission on selling baby formula milk) The nurse knows better in that breast milk is the best but she does not make any money that way. . All mothers can breast feed. I know females that are flat chested and yet they managed to breast feed. At 8 months you may notice the child's mouth making movements like a gold fish -as though it wants to be fed again. That is probably because milk is not enough food. You slowly can start to introduce solid food into the diet like digestive cookies and then mushy peas and mashed boiled potato as the stomach is in need of nourishment...that it can digest. I am not certain of the time period WHEN they are weaned off breast milk(definitely not for 18 months) The kid is constantly crying because its stomach is empty. Get past this stage and soon the kid will be asking for the car keys...as they all grown up.

  • Meanwhile in India where Maggi is very popular, Nestlé got caught for having concentrated high levels of LEAD in Maggi instant noodles. But that's not all, the Indian government also ruled that the noodles had a lot of MSG in a product literally marketed as "No added MSG". They were ordered to pull its products from all the shelves and banned for a while, but they managed to start selling again within five months. They used their tactics to negotiate with the courts, increased the price by nearly 20%, and started selling again as if nothing had happened. Since Nestlé believes water is not a human right, the people being deprived of clean drinking water should charge Nestlé for breathing air...since, you know, clean air being a human right is "an extreme solution".

But while the rest of the world enjoys chocolate in its many forms, the people harvesting the cocoa beans get little profit. On top of using children like you mentioned, they don't even get to eat their products. A short Dutch documentary interviewing the Ivorian cocoa farmers (you can find it by searching "First taste of chocolate in Ivory Coast") gave them a European chocolate bar and it was the first time they tasted their product (one farmer didn't even know what people could make with cocoa beans; he just wanted to make a living). A farmer said he earned 7 Euros per day to take care of 15 family members and four laborers...not a lot of money to go around. Not to mention, cocoa production has led to the dramatic destruction of the country's tropical forests The US and Europe with their corporations and wars, and now China with their Belt & Road takes advantage of these developing nations, and they just can't keep up.

I got those formula samples in a "mothers package" from hospital filled with differing product from butt paste to a baby hair brush to help with cradle cap. I didn't use the formula but was surprised how many women at the time thought nursing was weird and tied you down to the baby. That's just plain nuts! Who has a baby in order to not be tied to it?? • I had my first baby in 1988...at home with a midwife and her apprentice. I had a bad experience with doctors in the 70's and did not agree with them on many things. Having a baby at home this way is so relaxing. The midwife comes to your house to check on your baby for the first week and you can call her whenever you have a question. She anwered all my questions and helped me with breastfeeding. I did not realize that so many women in the 80's felt that way about breastfeeding and babies. My daughter had her babies at home with a friend of the woman who delivered her. She had to go back to work after the first one so I moved in during the week and took care of my first grandchild. What a gift! My daughter used a pump and left me milk to feed her during the day. The other day my first granddaughter who is now 8 with a 5 year old sister said to me..Thanks for taking such good care of me when my sister was born... Babies need our love and attention. If you have to work make sure you have a caretaker who can provide that while you are gone. So many women think putting their baby in a strange daycare is going to be sufficient.

  • I worked at Nestle Waters North America in the early 2000s, and let me tell you, that was one of the worst places I have ever worked. Everyday you were coming in, walking on eggshells to see if you were next to get fired over something stupid, such as.. there were no labels on the bottles that went up the line, you had the line hooked up to the wrong water silo, you entered the incorrect information on the hourly paperwork, etc. FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, IT'S FREAKING WATER!!!! WATER IS A GOD GIVEN RIGHT!!!! I refuse to buy their water, among many many other things that they produce. To say that they are evil is an understatement. And don't even get me started on the sexual harassment that went on there from the co-workers.. terrible terrible place to work. Ps.. I failed to mention, that back in 2003, it only cost the company 43 cents to make one case of water, and that's including when the preforms came in before they went into the blow molder to get blown up in two bottles, all the way to the case Packer which put the plastic wrap on the cases. It's called a markup. What a total joke. Nestle needs to be shut down

    @noname-jh3bd@noname-jh3bd Жыл бұрын
    • Ok not defending the big corporations but the "stupid" things you mentioned can be big trouble for a company dealing with food products. Items like silos of water, etc. all have to be checked for purity and are assigned a batch number. This batch number is traceable and is mandated and regulated by governments around the world. Same goes for labels on containers. By putting the wrong product in the wrong containers or the wrong labels on a container you can cause huge legal issues for the company. I have worked over 40 years in manufacturing in management so I definitely know what I am talking about here. You have no idea how your "something stupid" is actually very important. As to markup, you might be surprised what all sorts of items actually cost. My wife works in sporting equipment. She gets Nike shoes at cost plus ten percent... typically around $20 for a pair of Nike Air tennis shoes and people gladly pay over $200 for them in the stores. Markup is whatever people will pay for it. Don't like it, don't buy it. You really have no understanding of how businesses work. In America our government lies to us about many things we eat... sugar, food colorings and numerous additives that are considered 'safe' by our government is actually the causes of many of the diseases that we have today like Diabetes and cancer. If you want to be upset with someone, be mad at the government.

This is why we need legislation either to make it easy for consumers to be able to see what product is made by which company. Or by governments to step in and fine or ban these companies out of the market.

Unfortunately, those who control, monitor and even own all of these corporations are in bed with our governments. Our food is not safe, actually toxic, and this is, unfortunately, purposeful. Our medicine is poison and medical system has been infiltrated and bought out to fulfill an agenda we're not privy to. We the people must create our own food supply chain and move away from all systems currently in place. Coming together is what they fear most. This is why all the division, in every way possible (had the vax/won't have the vax, like Trump/hate Trump, republican/democrat, black/white, Jewish/Christian/Muslim, etc. Ignore these tactics of division and operate only from your heart. With Glee and a smirk I drive my buggy right past there poisonous crap. I can recall the Nestle CEO telling Canadians from his private jet in an interview that if we didn't start buying his water he would remove all of his food from our grocery store shelves. He definitely is misinformed if he thinks any of his crap is food. Secondly I would gladly help him load his little private jet with all of his garbage and send them back to wherever he came from.
