Where Is The Protein? | If Eminem Was Vegan Sequel | Lecture | Q & A | Animal Rights
Protein is a compound comprising of various amino acids. Amino acids can be divided into essential and non essential amino acids. Non essential amino acids are the ones our body produces naturally. Essential amino acids are the ones we have to get from food.
There are 9 essential and 2 conditionally essential amino acids :
They are Cystine, Histidine, Isoleucine, Leucine, Lysine, Methionine, Phenylalanine, Threonine, Tryptophan, Tyrosine and Valine
All of these essential amino acids can be obtained from plants.
For example take a food such as brown rice is low in Lysine. So if you eat only brown rice you will eventually over time develop lysine deficiency. But no one on Earth eats only brown rice. We eat rice, dal and vegetables. We eat a diet comprising of various grains, legumes, nuts, seeds, fruits and vegetables. By including a variety of plant food we ensure that we get all of the protein we need. This is not a complicated thing to do at all.
If we look at our traditional foods what is sambar rice, it is rice and dal. The dal in the sambar is high in lysine and therefore makes it a complete protein.
Similarly rajma chawal is rice and rajma, which is also a legume.
Poha is flattened rice with peanuts.
Basically all of our traditional foods are a combination of various plant foods in one meal and that will ensure that you get all of the amino acids your body needs.
Beans such as channa and rajma have around 20 gms of protein in them per 100 gms in dry weight
All of your dals like toor dal, masoor dal, urad dal and moong dal have over 25 gms of protein per 100 gms in dry weight.
Soy is really high in protein far higher than any animal product. 100 gms of soy chunks which is dirt cheap has over 50 gms of protein.
For even more serious athletes who take protein powders, plant based proteins powders are also available on the market so you have options for that as well.
A very good documentary to check out is THE GAME CHANGERS. It is a documentary featuring various athletes the world over who have broken world records and perform extraordinary food while eating only plant based food and 0 animal based foods.

A very lovely explanation sir☘️☘️
There are two reasons why vegans comprise a fraction of one percent of the population: The main reason is due to humans’ failure to care about what they put into their own bodies - as long as it tastes good, who gives a damn about the consequences to one’s own health or the ethical concerns regarding other creatures or the environment? The other reason is due to vegan advocates and animal rights activists being inept in their understanding of morality as well as their abysmal grasp of human physiology. Almost every single vegan activist I know of wrongly believes that we are omnivores, and they are clueless in respect to metaethics and applied ethics. But that is not the most unfortunate thing about the matter. The saddest thing is that there is hardly a single vegan activist even willing to spend an hour or so to learn proper diet and meta-ethics with the World Teacher Himself, Jagadguru Svāmī Vegānanda, despite him freely offering to do so on his social media platforms. 😩

Now don't remind me with those lethargic reasons ki meat to necessity hi hai aise hi chalti duniya, baat yahan par meat khaane ki nhi hai infact veganism meat ya animal product ko khane ke baare mein hai hi nhi balki it's more about a conscious being jisko hum choice rehte hue bhi consume kar lete hain, jo kuch bhi aap ne kaha agar developed nations asliyat mein hi itne developed hain to kya wo apni techs ya biological advancements ko itna improve nhi kar pa rhe ki conscious being ko jitna kam se kam nuksaan ho wo use minimize kar sake ya aise products develop karein jo aisi harmful practices ko khatam kar de atleast minimize to karein. Lekin nhi humein to plate mein meat chahiye bhai ab uske peeche jis janwar ki consiousness ko khatam kar diya gya wo to hum kabhi wapas labhi nhi sakte and this is the utmost reason ki species extinct hoti hain agar natural causes ko hata dein to, warna aap hi mujhe bataiye ki humans ke alawa aisa kon sa animal hai jisne jaan boojhkar apni species ko aage badhane ke liye hadd se zyada kisi species ko mara ho aur wo extinct hi ho gyi ho. Aur aapne colonization ki baat kari I truly respect your point magar that time is far over from now, we have free will now, we can express our opinion just like you, just like me, just like any other human. Magar kuch to alternative hoga kuch to aisa hoga ki log samajh paayein ki sirf meat hi khaana nhi hai. Sirf consciousness ko khatam kar dena option nhi hai. There is more to this human life. The brain we got from mother nature is possibly the smartest among known species right now, why not use it to preserve the consciousness of other beings to build a sustainable life not only for us but for our generations to come. Baaki life to waisi hi meaningless hai magar koi kisi ka gala kaat de to wo crime to hai hi phir bhale hi wo insaan ho ya janwar. Just because we humans don't have equal emotions doesn't mean ki ye to aise hi hota hai aur aise hi hota rhega. Not to hurt anyone sentiments. I hope I made some sense here.

Exactly. You don't have to be well informed or have empirical knowledge to apply logic. But schools don't teach children how to think (just what you think). The status quo these days is to be a sophist because we're conditioned to be this way. People don't even comprehend basic things, like how the food system works. One more thing, taking away a child from his parents(human or animal) causes a lot of trauma on the contrary a plant uses different strategies to make sure his fruit is taken away. Plants have evolved various strategies to entice animals to eat their fruit, which helps in seed dispersal. Here are some common methods: 1. Color and Attraction: Fruits are often brightly colored to catch the attention of animals. Red, orange, and yellow are common fruit colors that stand out in natural surroundings. 2. Sweetness: Many fruits are sweet due to the presence of sugars, which appeal to animals' taste buds. 3. Aroma: Fruits emit enticing scents that animals can detect from a distance, attracting them to the source. 4. Nutrient Reward: Fruits often contain essential nutrients and vitamins that are beneficial to animals. 5. Soft Texture: The soft and fleshy texture of fruits is more appealing to animals than hard, unripe fruits. 6. Seed Protection: Some plants have evolved seeds with hard shells or pits that are indigestible for animals, ensuring the seeds are eventually dispersed away from the parent plant. 7. Symbiotic Relationships: Some plants form mutually beneficial relationships with specific animals, like birds or mammals, that become their primary seed dispersers. 8. Timing: Fruit ripening is often synchronized with the availability of animals that can disperse seeds, ensuring the fruit is eaten when the seeds are ready for dispersal. These adaptations help plants ensure their seeds are spread to new locations, increasing their of chances survival and reproduction.

Non vegans are not kind to him just like they are for the animals :/ But appreciate his efforts !
We humans are the most opportunistic beings ever. We call ourselves humans and put ourselves above other beings but at times we tend to find the similarities between ourselves and animals just to justify our doings. This is the first time I came across Arvind's video and I'm so glad I've found someone who is honest and logical with his answer. I really admire the way Arvind explained how some people tend to focus on the small portion of the problems they don't have a solution to, so that they can ignore the large portion of the problems they do have a solution to. And, well, they do it cause they don't want to see it as a problem in the first place. Another thing that I appreciate about his explanation is that when we are already living in a chaotic, non-ideal non-vegan world, we need not fear how far from ideal, a vegan world would be, especially where there will more kindness and lot less torture and killing. Also, I thank the student for bringing up these valuable questions. Like your profile picture brother. I know it feels really great to receive love and affection from animals. Keep up the good work bhai.
Organ chips are being increasingly used nowadays in drug research as an alternative to testing drugs on animals. Such chips contain human cells and tissues derived from specific human organs on which the drug can be tested. Organ-on-chip testing is more accurate than animal testing. Take care...

Idk bro she cute
It's good questioning makes your mind sharp
She's cute and smart 😎
Well said my brother❤
Love you videos, amazing work
Loved you speech sir🎉🎉😊😊
Please upload the full lecture please
Excellent work, as always. Love your videos. 💚💚💚💚.
Well explained…truth, honest and great examples👍🏻
This is how a debate should be conducted. Hes talking valid points unlike other animal/vegan activists
The ones who caused an ideal world go nonideal through their senseless actions and habits are ironically the ones questioning the idealness of a vegan world 😂
Exactly! Never could have said better

Well done Arvind. Keep up the great work . I admire you.
Hi Arvind, As A Vegan myself I do totally resonate with what you said in the video but I would want you to also look at it with few exceptions I have been into fitness industry (Specifically Bodybuilding) from quite a while now and what you are saying is not humanely possible to complete your protein requirements through only "Rice and Daal" let me tell you why There is a significant amount of carbs and fats that come with a bowl of rice and dal which is now giving you a complete Amino acid profile for hitting your Protein goals however on the contrary you can hit the same with a scoop of Whey (made out of milk) or maybe 6 eggs (36 G Complete protein), So does it really makes sense to eat 100Gram of Daal + 200 Gram of Rice in order to hit your 30G protein goal and then burn the remaining carbs and fats? I don't see it to be possible, Not just this, The Bio availability of such sources(vegan sources) is not on-par with the one we have at hand(Meat, whey or Egg) Even if you want to consider Vegan protein, Do note that the Bio Availability varies by a huge margin, be it something like Soya Chunks or Sattu or Seitan, None of them has bio availability as good as a scoop of whey or maybe 100 Grams of Chicken breast or an Egg. What about this then? I don't see it to be theocratically possible for a person (be it bodybuilder) to be able to eat 300 Grams of Dal + Rice every meal to hit his 100 or 120 Grams of Protein goal and then burn off the rest of calories because a body won't be able to digest 5,000 calories (Assuming one takes 4 meals a day and they are hitting 120 Gm Protein so around 1600 Grams of Dal and Rice combined) however in case of Egg, or whey, or meat it is easily digest-able and absorbed (Bio Availability) as well as will be well within your caloric limit. Any insights on this??
He will never respond , he just a misinformation paddler.
true
U can eat soya chunks of 100 gms easily.. As a evening snack... Vegan protein powder... Sprouts... Like that u can fulfill ur daily requirements
@@jayaprakash-oi4qd plant protein bioavailability
Hi Jayaprakash, I do understand your argument of eating 200 grams soya chunk in order to get 50+50 = 100 grams of protein and everything you mentioned, I am assuming you might have missed the second part of my question. Not just Bio Availability is a factor, As a person who relies on sole Vegan sources Soy Protein does cause a lot of problems in some individuals(Kindly note that I am in no way blaming Soy for that). I was under training for 1 year with an individual who was "into fitness industry for as long as I am alive", and he suggested me the same, Sure Bio-Availability does play a role but honestly I want you to understand that it's really hard to Gulp 100-200 Grams of Soaked Soya Chunks to begin with, even if you are telling me to Grind and drink, there may be more effects like I mentioned above, that are Gas, Bloating, Constipation, Diarrhoea etc. (Please understand that I am not pointing at Estrogenic properties of the same, and I do understand the scientific Evidence) I am not telling it out of the blue, I have dealt with some few clients and out of them most face problems while eating Soya Chunks. Sometimes we have to set aside few scientific studies and know what works best for us, I have found Soy isn't something that is best for a lot of individuals (Digestive Issues are common occurrence) @@jayaprakash-oi4qd
Amazing work sir Hats off to you 💯
Wow brilliant explanation
Arvind bro, you have convinced me. Only love can win.
Aravind, I'd like to correct you slightly on the amino acid part. White rice doesn't lack Lysine only that it has it in a lower percentage. Let's not spread this Complete/Incomplete protein misconception as people still think plants have no protein, whereas every plant food has all the different amino acids in varying quantities. Maybe use a different terminology than the Complete/incomplete terms.
This protein question seems really dumb you don't need really that much protein unlees you're athlete
@krox477 exactly. One doesn't need a lot of protein and all food has protein. The marketing has been so amazing that even regular people think they requires tons of protein. Actually consumption of too much protein is detrimental to the kidneys. Fantastic book by Dr Garth Davis called Proteinoholic.
@@krox477you actually do need protein and if you just try to get that from plant based sources like dal rice or whatever he is saying the calories in them are too high as compared to protein
The girl didn't know that the animals we eat, eat plants themselves 😂
@@shasinha23 Those animals still eat plants, right?
@@shasinha23 When/where did I ask whether the dietary needs of a ruminant and a human are same/different?
@@shasinha23 The girl in the video said that if everybody turned vegan, it would cause deforestation. She made such a statement WITHOUT thinking that the animals which we have bred for meat are already feeding on plants. In this context, I wrote my initial comment. Please do not get offended :)
@@shasinha23 Yes you perceived my statement incorrectly but that's completely okay. We both can laugh at each other's mistakes. After all, we are humans. I was in no way trying to demean the girl. It's just that she didn't think through what she was saying. No hard feelings (:
@@shasinha23 I'm really glad that you didn't get offended. I'm not a vegan but have been a vegetarian (taking milk and milk products but no eggs) since over a decade. Avoiding meat has helped me in improving my gut health, skin and quality of sleep. So for me being a vegetarian has been a healthier decision. I have followed this channel since 2021 and very soon I'll be going vegan 😄
Hats of to your efforts brother 👏
Wow, Arvind you are an inspiration. No-one utilises language in the 11th gear like you brother.
Great brother... Atleast jo samajh aa rha h ki galat hai or uska jitna solution hai apne pas utna to apnana chahiye❤
My great grand parents lived without meat for 100 long year.. surprisingly with no protein deficiency 🥱
ask your forefathers how they survived. hunting was the main occupation those times 😂
@@two8915 Caves were the houses, woods were the burner, walking was the only way to travel, ponds were the bathrooms. Why not live completely like your forefathers. They didn't artificially inseminate, breed, cage, torture animals for all their life and ended harming the environment too. But today it's happening! Also, the point here was we can survive without making anyone suffer lifelong for few seconds of taste... Specially during this time when we have so much facility.
@@sonuholic its just business. forcing everyone to become vegetarian so that they can sell vegetables in higher price and make money. more demand more supply more profit.
@@two8915 animals are consuming more vegetarian food than us for years..to become one time meal.. Vegan food costs upto 40% less! Livestock farming is even a bigger profit making industry, they don't care if the animal you ate was suffering from any diseases.
Thank you Arvind . 🧡
now take an example if i want 20 gm protein from pulses we need to consume 100 gm of pulses its like 3 pressure cooker of pulses but if you take protein pwder just one scoop you will get 25 gm so thats the point you can get more protein in less calories thats why eating non veg and dairy products is necessary despite having protein in pulses it is very difficult to consume in large quantities and also the protein in vegans are of poor quality
Right point
