  • With Australia, it is a little tough, because nearly all our road signs, signals, lines, and poles are nationwide. It is easier to work out based on how green it is, the soil colour, and the often tree types. Sydney and Melbourne are very similar architecturally, with Sydney climate slightly warmer and hillier. Adelaide is slightly drier, and less green. Most of the city is flat except the outer part. Perth is quite windy, and has less vegetation than the east. Its soil is a bit more sandy as well. Brisbane is heading towards a more tropical climate. Hobart is boring, small, and just a massive mountain on one side, and a large river splitting the city in half. Its also colder, so darker green vegetation. Darwin is just humid, red, with a tropical climate. The more red the dirt, the closer you are to the center of the country. The only places even close to the colour of ouf center is in brazil and northern south africa/botswana. And lastly, 90% of our population live on the east coast, with Sydney and Melbourne taking up about 45% of that. Melbourne is more a harbour looking city, whilst Sydney has a more beach vibe

  • Texas’ roads look like that because the tar boils too easily so we tend to have a gravel topper. Especially for the highways. I have actually had tar stick to my shoe from walking on my residential road. Wasn’t even like they had recently redone the road. It was just hot. 😂

  • For help with the US and east coast vs west coast, look at the trees. You will see more deciduous trees (the ones with the leaves that fall off) on the east coast and more coniferous trees (needles) on the west coast. Unfortunately all shopping centers look about the same everywhere in the US, with the same shops so usually that won't give you much info.

For the record, Oxford, Mississippi was named after Oxford, England, because they wanted to build the university there. Oxford England donated a red double decker bus and a British phone booth.

  • I find it hilarious that the locations taken for Singapore is landed property. (I'm guessing even the thumbnail's pic is of SG.) I guess it makes sense when around the world people live in houses. Property houses here tend to have gates with walls, narrow roads, oh and blue and green bins. (That's for the ones I've seen anyways.)

  • So you know for future times, we have the reflectors on the road here in Washington state too, so there’s at least one state that’s not southern that also uses them just in case you’re ever on one where that kinda throws you for any reason!

  • I noticed in the Texas location the road had "I-20 Frontgage Road" superimposed. Our interstate highways follow a pattern that might be helpful to know. Even numbered interstates run east-west and increase in number value south-north. Odd numbered interstates run north-south and increase in number value west-east. Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico also have interstate highways and those begin with the letters A, H, and PR respectively.

I've lived in Malaysia for 4 years and similar to Singapore, there's a lot of gated communities, so be sure to look out for that stuff. • Iskall you're very good at this. I used to play a lot and tried to note down things I noticed which gave me different answers from you. Feel free to disregard but maybe they'll help you a little bit. Trees in particular can give a lot of info about how cold an area gets and sometimes can be enough to narrow down to a particular region immediately. Color of the plants is also a big indicator and I can't put my finger on why exactly but plants usually can tell me if it's near the coast. With dirt there are only a couple of regions where the dirt is red and visible so make a note of it when you see it. Lastly, I've found a lot of success with the sky having a rift in it. The only two places I've seen with a rift in the sky consistently are Senegal and North Macedonia. Looking at the sky to determine if the sun is in the North vs the South can also be helpful to identify northern vs. southern hemisphere but might not be worth it often with only 40 seconds.

    • yeah here in washington those are only hills! the mountains are much taller, (they must be hidden behind clouds or houses in the photo). i live in seattle and was actually tempted to to choose california for that one, as those hills look mostly the same during the entirety of the northern-pacific and i've seen them more south in california. it's weird how different rural areas look because of having such few trees and wide lawns.

Just have to say tho, I'm from brazil, and uh, we really don't have palm trees besides the coast XD The area you picked is known for big plantations or the "pantanal" biome, which is lots of swamp like areas, the north is mostly amazon forest besides big cities, the north east is very dry besides the coast, south east and northen part of the south look more like that place at 16:00. The very south has a lot of very characteristic trees of the region called "araucária".
