  • When you've worked an 8 hour day your tired as all fuck you don't want to be fucking around with kale and steaming salmon, that is why microwave meals exist. Its 2am, you've had several beers and a joint or two and you have the munchies so bad, a Rustlers burger tastes like a steak from the Savoy hotel.

    @pixiniarts@pixiniarts8 жыл бұрын
    • thats why you can spare an hour or two on a weekend to cook a few meals, put it in the fridge, heat it up later, its not expensive but definitely healthy, its all doable, I do it and work 8 hrs a day, no excuses

      @sootherbs@sootherbs7 жыл бұрын
    • +sootherbs Try 12 to 14 hour days in a real restaraunt. Your microwave will become a beloved friend. No matter how talented you are, re-heated food will always taste and feel like shit. Why not go the cheap easy route and instead of cooking at home as well, spend some time with friends and family or pursuing a hobby on your off day/hours?

      @Sticky_Ricky@Sticky_Ricky7 жыл бұрын
    • EraseMeWhole not saying i manage it every time but lots of times yes and it all counts towards my health which i value, and i don't want to count on cheap food because that's what i put in my body and that's how i will feel, you will not feel energized or healthy and probably will end up with an illness and then you'll have plenty of time to think if it was worth it...anything that takes any effort isn't easy in life so i guess we all chose what we prefer.

    • wrong. thats a bold faced lie. in fact according to science microwaves cook food far more efficiently than an oven. A microwave oven uses “dielectric heating” to cook food. This is accomplished by using microwave radiation to heat polarized molecules within the food. This excitation is fairly uniform, leading to food being more evenly heated throughout (except in dense objects) than generally occurs in other cooking techniques,In other words, molecules that are electric dipoles, of which water is the most efficient, rotate back and forth; the friction between them creates heat. This process is “dielectric heating.” The literature reveals that microwave heating occurs by two mechanisms, which are dipolar polarization, and ionic conduction (Kingston and Jassie, 1998, Mingos and Baghurst, 1991 and Taylor et al., 2005). Dipolar polarization is by which heat is produced in polar molecules like water. Dipoles align themselves by rotating with the electric field associated with waves… In conduction, dissolved charged particles (ions) in a sample oscillate back and forth under the influencing electric force of microwaves creating an electric current. This current faces internal resistance because of collisions of charged species with neighboring molecules or atoms, which cause materials to heat up (Metaxas, 1996 and Ponne, 1996). The conduction principal has much stronger effect in comparison to dipolar polarization for heat producing capacity (Keiko, 2003).

People work with what they can or have...its not like people have bad taste on purpose all the time or care...its a matter of priorities and if people are willing to sacrifice food for mediocre ones, then so be it, because they have other things to worry bout then top quality foods. Plus sometimes people are raised and like microwave food(it has its good reasons of being a thing and common).

I know of a brand that has a really good Manicotti in sauce and Blintzes in gravy, and another that has a good meatballs with rice and another that has vegan "meat" balls in sweet sauce and a Turkey with Mash and Gravy. You just have to know what is good.

I eat mainly Amy's meals now and supplement with fresh fruits/veggies for snacks because I use them for portion control so I can easily count my calories without spending ages adding up every single individual ingredient i ate that day. They are all organic, non-GMO and preservative free, as well as offering many low sodium and vegan options, so it's probably the healthiest stuff on earth you could ever eat. lol $3.75 for a fully cooked, hassle free meal is well worth the money to me, as I have 3 jobs and am constantly running from one place or another. And when counting for all the crap food that I no longer buy, it actually ended up not costing me any more money in the long haul, and it has helped me lose 40 lbs as well. Amy's for the win!
