At 50, actor and producer Karvan is at the peak of her powers. She’s currently getting rave reviews for her first stage performance in 25 years and is working on a new season of the award-winning TV show, Bump, which she co-created, co-produces and stars in.
Karvan has been in the public eye since her first movie at the age of 10.
But behind the scenes of her long and successful career, Karvan has also been managing a sometimes chaotic family life.
A remarkably candid Karvan talks about growing up around her mother and stepfather’s King Cross nightclub and her transition from childhood actor to adult star.
She also reveals the mental health issues in her family and speaks publicly for the first time about her difficult relationship with her biological father, who died last year.

She's always been fabulous- I just didn't know in how many ways.
I used to live in Australia and I first recall seeing Claudia on The Heartbreak Kid. Things might not have been comfortable for her in terms of adapting to a Hollywood lifestyle, as she said. However, she is a far better actress than some of her other, more celebrated compatriots I reckon.
She is such an authentic ,down to earth and well grounded individual. Her children have a wonderful role model to look up to.

Rupert Karvan,whilst getting help with assistance of his sister, unfortunately his boarding house is not what it seems. Many owners behave like they care for the mentally challenged, however it is more of a case of taking advantage of NDIS to boost their profits.Rupert is so sweet but has expressed he wants more from his life as he knows the boarding house does not meet his desire to improve and he has zero friends there,spends most of his time alone and expressed his desire to write/speak better and to find ways to no longer talk to himself He is very proud of his sister and he is a people pleaser. He loves music and for now could do with tv or music in his room. Without change though he sees no future for himself.He really wants to engage with people, however not in that environment and am angered by people taking advantage for pure profit and pretending to care and he would enjoy having ability to talk clearly with his mum and Arthur in Bali. I do worry for him as he deserves so much better

I don't know why I should feel so strongly about your remark but I do. Claudia is being honoured for her service and considerable contribution to the dramatic arts, over a period of 4 decades. Apart from her public love, she has considerable admiration and respect from her contemporaries. Its years since I lived in Oz, yet Love My Way had a profound impact on me. So, you are entitled to your opinion , as we all are, yet for some, reason, the under current of your comment seems rather bitter..hmm just an observation.
What would you rather have glorified? To think that there is anything more desirable than an ordinary, caring life is a modern day sickness of the spirit.
