12 things that sounds sexual in French | Become fluent in French | Learn French
12 things that sound sexual in French - I heard so many times, English speakers saying something they think is totally innocent when it is absolutely not.
It's always half funny and half embarrassing to explain to them that they should NEVER say that.
So I decided to save you the trouble, and make a list of the things you should never say.

Ouiii... I will miss dylane🤩🤩🤩
This is such an important video, innocent mistakes as a learner can land you in soup! Really appreciate your efforts Dylane. ❤
I agree :)
*Concours #6: Je suis excité. When I was visiting France 2 years ago, I accidentally said this to a french girl in the hostel I was staying at when I was telling her about how I was going to see the eiffel tower the next day and I was really excited. Thankfully, she did not slap me, she just laughed and corrected me, but I was so embarrassed afterwards!
I can perfectly imagine how you felt! That's why I keep repeating this in my video. Thanks for your comment and good luck 🍀
Congratulations! You won a book! Can you send me an email to info@theperfectfrench.com with your address please?
What an useful lesson and a great strategy that immediately separate from other ordinary teachers. Not only teaching the language but also teach their culture, and the usage of the language. It's a life saver video Dylane, thank you. Thank to God l am a woman, people can just laugh at me without any offense...
This is so true, men have to be very careful about a lot of these things but for us it would be brushed off 🙂
Well said Dylane 😂
Merci mille fois, Dylane
Useful, practical and interesting, it's a pleasure to listen such a topic from you. Thank you
You are very welcome 🙂
Merci beaucoup 🌺, très utile.
This video was super eye-opening! Thanks for correcting some of my innocent-sounding sentences. As a native Spanish speaker, some of these phrases are very similar to the ones used in Spanish!
Exactly like you said, they are innocent mistakes but it's better to know to not make them 😉 Glad I helped
Merci pour cette vidéo! I like the first one because it is so simple but I had no idea. I’ve heard of most of the other ones before. Concours
I am sorry but you didn't win a book this time 😕 I will let you know when it goes for free on Amazon so you can download it
thank u very much, found it very entertaining, thank u for teaching me the basic words for french.
Glad you liked it :)
Thanks dear Dylan for the free ebook of '500 most common French verbs!!😀😀😀
You are welcome 😉
Tu es ... douée.! Merci pour tout.
Merci 😍 😍 😍
Thanks a bunch! Now I know!!! :)
That was eye-opener...thank you so much for sharing. It will save from embarrasment in future...*Concours
Unfortunately the contest is closed but I have a new one on my Instagram starting on November 1st 😉
thank you dear. it's careful words to us. I am beginner French learner. it's helps a lot
You're welcome 😊 Let me know if you have questions, I try to answer comments once a day
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane thank you dear. do you have any french learning website recommendation to me? i am interest to learn french. but i am not good in french. thank you for your answer.
I am slowly building mine so you should check it out 😉 Lots of free PDFs to download www.theperfectfrench.com
Wow. Félicitations. Bravo.
Merci 😉
That was a very funny but innocent video. I was asked to stop laughing so loud on the train many times 😂
This video got a lot of views from the wrong type of search Martin so I am glad it's helpful to you 😅
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane 😂 That is hilarious. This is the kind of thing that makes learning another language so much fun. Somtimes I say the wrong things to my teacher and she cries with laughter and then tells me what I have just said and then we both laugh. So much fun 👍🏻
Casually explained got me curios
☺️ Did you learn something? 🙃
Merci beaucoup.
De rien ;)
This is very helpful and kinda funny. In Spanish there are words that change by country and I found that the hard way going from Colombia to Mexico. The word for 'jacket" and a "car horn" are innocent in Colombia but quite dirty in Mexico haha! Merci for another great video!
Ok I will never use these words just in case 😅
Merci beaucoup!! 🖤🖤🖤
I should have mentioned that in the video, too bad I didn't think about it 😕
Concours = J'ai chaud. (I've been making the mistake of je suis chaud). Thanks for the opportunity to win a free book.
This is a good one! But a very common mistake 😉 Bonne chance
I know i am late to party but can I still get a copy of your book? great videos keep it up. merci
You can get the free eBook, all the links are in the description box 😉
Merci beaucoup Dylane. Now I know those words should be avoided 😃
C'est mieux de les éviter oui 😉
Oh mon dieu!!! 😲 These are so common and most probable mistakes one could make while learning French via English. But those, who are learning with other languages like their native, other than English would be saved.
I know 😅
Thank you for a valuable and tactfully done video! I've sure that there will be times when I will sound stupid speaking French but I'd prefer not to sound stupid AND vulgar!
I am glad it was helpful Ernest :)
Hi how can I get your dictionary ? you are the best !
You can get the PDF version here : theperfectfrenchwithdylane.teachable.com or the Kindle and paperback here : amzn.to/2NkZmfx Thanks for the compliment ☺️
I wish I learned a foreign language when I was young and my brain still worked good.
UHFStation1 how old are you if I can ask?
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane 39. I can barely remember the right English words for things anymore. Or at least remembering names has gotten tricky. I've been told around age 28 is when the ability to learn new language really starts to diminish. That could be old research though, and I am hopeful that age research may give me my youth back. lol.
It is never too late.
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane can i start at age 15?
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane if I may ask*😅.
What a brilliant lesson. Thank you for your eloquent teaching. I hope to continue to learn from you. :o}
Merci Brently 🤩
I hope that other countries who are using French in other dialects (African French) must be aware of it, else same problem will occur like in Spanish
Hello Dylan Concours!!!
The contest has been closed for months now, sorry :/
miss dylane ... how to get your book ...ilovetoooo
You can get it right here : www.theperfectfrench.com/freebies You will be redirected to a page to download it and you also get the link by email
(I hope I say this correctly. I'm practicing my French.) Merci beaucoup por cette video. Dans États Unis, ils enseignent "elle est bonne" comme la bonne façon de dire "she is good". 🤦♂️😳
Jeez im really glad i watched this before saying something horrible lol
No big deal if you say it but you might get some weird looks 😂
dear how i can buy this book ? i can buy here in france
Hi Abu :) The links for the books are in the description box. You can get the PDF to download, the eBook on Amazon or the paperback delivered to you 🙂
sorry, I meant brighter of course
I've been guilty of the "Je suis chaud" instead of "J'ai chaud" but maybe it doesn't have the same connotations in Quebecois French as it does in Parisian French. Concours. One funny mistranslation moment with an ex happened when preparing dinner for us and her parents. She was shredding some cheese and said that she would be finished once she was done, well the French word for shredding is râper, the cheese. Instead of translating the verb something in her mind just decided to take off the "er" and add "ing" to the French verb. Needless to say we all had a good laugh! (And I went a round about way of telling it because I didn't want to trigger any alerts.)
I am sorry Reid but you didn't win a book this time 😕 I will let you know when it goes for free on Amazon so you can download it
Same in Québec, people are just less likely to correct you because the culture is different. French love to show people they are wrong, Québécois don't want to hurt your feelings. XD
Intercourse still makes me laugh lol 😅
Brilliant but the written graphics are too dull to read easily on a small phone screen. Brigther colours or thicker font would be greatly appreciated.
My new videos are much better :)
I learned about je suis vs j’ai many years ago while skiing just north of Montreal. I meant to tell the ski instructor “I am finished” adjusting my ski boots, so I said “Je suis finis”. He politely told me that meant “I am dead”, and what I should have said was “J’ai finis” - “I have finished”. Not quite as bad a mistake as saying one of those no-no idiomatic phrases like “I want to have sex with you”. Lol.
Boris you are really sticking to your French learning journey from the few comments I saw this week! And yes, some mistakes are definitely more embarrassing than others 😅 Will talk to you in another comment soon :)
Préservatif vs conservateur Concours 🙂 Oh yes I made this mistake and to say the least I was very embarrassed 😞 mais c’est pas la fin du monde 🙂
Oh trust me i have been there too ahah Bonne chance pour le concours 🍀
I am sorry Zaineb but you didn't win a book this time 😕 I will let you know when it goes for free on Amazon so you can download it
I once "introduire" my wife to a French friend, rather than "presenter" 🤦. Concours!!
Ahah I am sorry but I laughed 🤣 At least you won't do it anymore, that's what mistakes are for 😉 Bonne chance 🍀
Congratulations Nathan You won a book! Can you send me an email to info@theperfectfrench.com with your address please?

My favourites are number 2 (une cochonne) and number 4 (chatte). I find that funny how people attribute sexual meanings to animals. Thanks for the chance! *Concours
Congratulation Ganbatte You won a book! Can you send me an email to info@theperfectfrench.com with your address please?
belle fille
Have you ever made any mistakes 🤣🤣 btw you are jolie
Plenty 😉
😍🤗😏
👋
Dylane! You are a tipycal scorpion.:)
I am :D
My favorite is " J'ai envie de toi".
I think it's the n1 for French learners 😉
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane It's a worthwhile expression, and honestly,I mean it.
that sound*
Good catch! I am surprised nobody said something before. Thanks 😉
@@adela76According to the Cockney dialect , her pronunciation is still correct, that's the beauty of languages.
Wee wee
We can't see words clearly. Colors and shades are not clear. The writing is small
I changed the design since, sorry about that :)
Il/Elle est bon(ne) au pieu.
Bonne utilisation de "bon(ne)" 😉
