0:00 Introduction: Testosterone
0:10 Does age affect testosterone?
0:40 How to increase testosterone
5:05 What causes low testosterone?
Today we’re going to talk about testosterone. I want to cover different things that will boost testosterone or destroy testosterone.
New research shows age may not be a significant factor in a decrease in testosterone. If you understand what can enhance or destroy testosterone, then you can actually be more in control of your testosterone.
Keep in mind that it’s more important to focus on trying to avoid things that destroy testosterone and then do what you can to enhance testosterone.
Things that enhance testosterone:
1. Steak and eggs (for lunch)
2. Exercise
3. Zinc
4. Asparagus
5. Dopamine
6. Truffles
7. Saffron
Things that destroy testosterone:
• Sugar and refined carbs (insulin resistance)
• Statins
• Alcohol
• Stress (cortisol)
• Poor sleep
• MSG
• Soy
• Microwave popcorn (PFAS)
• Being fat
• Aspartame
• Plastic water bottles (BPA)

During fast I'll drink apple cider vinegar with quarter tablespoon salt and half a lemon squeezed in. When I "break" the "fast" I'll have 5 eggs, 3 whole pasture raised eggs and the other 2 will be cheap white eggs only using the white not the yolk; also cream of rice with dark chocolate %90 coacoa and peanut butter. I'm slowly transitioning off carbs , I notice if i pull out carbs too fast I feel and loot depleted (flat). Over a weekly basis I slowly lower carbs and has been working great. I do a 36 to 48 hour fast once a week or once every other week. Exercise almost every day.. Cut out all carbs almost completely. No sugar either. Got my testosterone checked a few weeks ago.. 1038. I’m 44 years old. PS. Most of my meals consist of some form of meat, mostly beef and pork, fish, eggs (4 a day most of the time), an avocado, and some other low or no carb vegetables, or skip the vegetables and double up on the meat, lots of mushrooms.

I just came from a doctors visit for a bio screening yesterday and it’s a great hospital in clinic but what’s on all their screens on TV are advertisements for constant medication do this take that do it now here’s why blah blah blah and it’s nothing about food and the basics of life let food be thy medicine. • I think he is right, I am 46 and I changed my habits in fasting, eating, and exercising. I am more muscular than I my 30s. And if I fast over 24 or or 36 hrs, sometimes 3 days. I see more definition. Also less muscle and body pains. Age does not necessarily mean low T. It's about doing various little things that add up. Your body has no choice but to improve if you eat right like the foods Dr berg said, I been following him for 3 years now, and reduce sugar maybe down to 50 to 75% of what u used to. Stuffing your self with lots of dark green veggies,, control carbs to 50% of what u used too, increase organic meats and veggies and of course your not gonna get this all right so your clean up step or tool is fasting. Fasting is your trump card that you can keep going back to to rely. To catch up if you came up short in some of the things I mention prior. If u follow his advice to grow T and fast longer which also increase human growth hormone then are will be on your way. What is crazy if you have good T and growth hormone is this. You can play sports for over 3 or 4 hrs and not have muscle or joint pains. At least not that much and oh I must repeat you must also reduce sugar which increase insulin and cancels out your gain in T.

  • "Every thing that kills me makes me feel alive!" I did a college paper in the late eighties on this subject and study of Eastern Europe domination of competition weight lifting. All is still relevant today. One important point about exercise is to limit your high intensity work out to about 30 minutes. The pros work up to 45 minutes, but keep in mind that most people don't have the potential of the best of the best. Significant point being that beyond that time limit, testosterone levels drop like a rock, thus stymie all the benefits of natural testosterone.

I have had an endocrinologist tell me my T level was "robust" like a 20 something. Another Dr. told me I have the blood work of a 20 year old, which of course I love to hear! Anyway, to you older guys like me declining T is not inevitable.

So, eliminate negative system inputs FIRST, Then add the positive inputs. Everyone wants to add the good things and pretend the bad things they are doing are insignificant.

  • Vince Gironda, someone who was revered in bodybuilding circles to where he earned the nickname the "Iron Guru", recommended steak and eggs as the staple of a bodybuilder's diet, asserting that it was as anabolic as taking a steroid. Keep in mind he made these assertions in the heyday of bodybuilding, in the 50s, 60s and 70s, well before much of the research on nutrition was accessible to the masses. While he did not have advanced degrees in biochemistry and nutrition, Gironda noticed the appreciable performance and aesthetic improvements for those he trained, who subsisted on mostly steak and eggs.

I have sleep apnea, so that’s definitely something I need to address. I have a lot of weight to lose, specifically body fat of course. I love steak and eggs, that needs to be a staple in my diet. Lol when he said being fat. I just laughed at it because of how it sounded when he listed it. Gotta lower that aromatase factory in my mid section! I just got my testosterone, estradiol, prolactin, cortisol and thyroid tested last week, that way I have a baseline that I can measure my progress from. The goal is to drop about 80 lbs of fat, eat better, basically adhere to the lists in this video etc. I’m hoping that if someone sees this comment months from now and asks for an update, I’m able to tell them how much better things have gotten :).

    • I have low testosterone as a woman. It happened because I am post-menopausal. I am taking a cream (it gets rubbed on the vulva area once a day) and it has doubled my testosterone levels in 3 months. I don't think there is any other way to increase my testosterone through diet as my drop in testosterone is caused by the huge drop in my estrogen.....caused by my ovaries ceasing function from menopause. I got my cream from a health clinic that supplies bio-identical hormones. I am also taking bio-identical estrogen and progesterone. (BHRT)
