They found the models were based on the application of flawed mathematical risk models.

      @naturaliscontentus5914@naturaliscontentus59144 ай бұрын
    • @@naturaliscontentus5914 Public health justification: Reduced transmission: Vaccination significantly reduces the risk of transmitting infectious diseases. Studies have shown that unvaccinated individuals are more likely to contract and spread illnesses like COVID-19, even if they experience mild symptoms themselves. This poses a risk to vulnerable populations who might suffer severe complications or death if infected. Herd immunity: Achieving herd immunity, where a significant portion of the population is immune to a disease, helps protect those who cannot be vaccinated due to medical conditions or age. Barring unvaccinated individuals from certain venues can contribute to reaching herd immunity faster, reducing overall transmission and protecting the community. Outbreak control: During outbreaks of highly contagious and severe diseases, stricter measures like temporary venue restrictions for unvaccinated individuals might be necessary to control the spread and prevent healthcare systems from becoming overwhelmed. Evidence supporting these claims: Large-scale studies: Numerous studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of vaccines in reducing transmission and severe illness from various infectious diseases. For example, a CDC study found that COVID-19 vaccination reduces the risk of hospitalization by 91% and death by 94%. Modeling data: Mathematical models developed by public health experts often suggest that barring unvaccinated individuals from certain settings can significantly reduce disease transmission within those spaces. Real-world examples: Countries with stricter vaccination policies have often seen lower rates of disease transmission and hospitalization compared to those with lax policies. For instance, Singapore's strict approach to COVID-19 control, including venue restrictions for unvaccinated individuals, contributed to their success in keeping case numbers low. Logic and ethical considerations: Balancing individual liberty and public health: While individual freedom of choice is important, public health measures like vaccination mandates can be justified when they aim to protect vulnerable populations from preventable harm. Similar to other regulations like wearing seatbelts or not smoking in public places, vaccination mandates prioritize collective well-being while acknowledging individual autonomy. Proportionality and equity: Any restrictions on unvaccinated individuals should be proportionate to the public health risk posed by the specific disease and implemented in a way that minimizes social and economic harm. Addressing vaccine hesitancy through education and outreach programs can be crucial alongside restrictions. Remember: The justification for barring unvaccinated individuals from public venues depends on the specific context, including the severity and transmissibility of the disease, vaccination rates in the population, and the availability of alternative measures to protect vulnerable individuals. Open communication and respect for differing viewpoints are crucial when discussing this complex issue. Be prepared to address concerns about individual liberty, equity, and potential unintended consequences of such restrictions. Stay informed about the latest scientific evidence and recommendations from credible health authorities to adapt your arguments as the public health landscape evolves.

I haven't heard him say any specific testing protocols he wants that are not things that are already being done. The covid vaccines were well tested though perhaps the least tested of all the vaccines we have due to the emergency and even they had mass trials. When you say "I just want more testing" in the face of all the very thorough safety testing and protocols we already have for decades old vaccines what you are actually saying is "no amount of testing will ever satisfy me unless it confirms what I already believe in the face of 0 evidence (which is that vaccines are so unsafe that their benefits do not outweigh the dangers).

    • @@LC-sc3en You are either deliberately lying or have simply not looked into any of this at all and therefore don’t recognize your own ignorance. RFK jr. Is extremely detailed and well sourced in his books and freely goes into depth about testing standards and his other positions in every longform interview that he does. Most people would be surprised to find out what standards are not and have not been required for vaccines and both vaccine and drug manufacturing. *Double blind placebo study. *Not required since the Reagan administration because the administration was told by the industry that it’s not possible to achieve “safe“ status. *“Safe and effective”, not words defined in the common vernacular, but words used with specific meanings based on what is and isn’t knowable under various standards of testing - that’s a brief list of things that you need to go learn about before you try to make the assertions you have because to say the things your saying means you could only have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about. And what you’re saying about the Covid vaccine… where to even start… Pfizer executives admitted publicly that testing was not done on controlling the spread prior to claims that it would - and of course it turns out that it didn’t. Testing on pregnant women was deeply flawed in a way that only could’ve been deliberate and conveniently blinded the study from knowing if there were problems. And the list goes on and on and on. To say that testing was done correctly to determine that it was safe and effective, is demonstrably false six ways from Sunday. The manufacturing processes for the vaccines tested were completely different from those used for mass production - this is neither normal, nor is it trivial - it has long been well known that changing the manufacturing process for vaccines invalidates any testing and has directly resulted in vaccine related health disasters in the past (polio is an often cited example, the cutter incident, it’s easy to look up). It’s now known that the mass produced vaccine which was manufactured differently than the vaccine batches used for testing in order to gain the emergency use authorization was not filtered to remove fragment DNA - which has been understood could potentially be a serious problem and was not tested for to ensure its safety in these vaccines. So, even under the rushed circumstances, the standards, requirements and oversight for the Covid vaccine were abysmal and inexcusable. No one would be ok with it and the only reason people are is because they’re not aware of any of it or have been convinced to simply wave off real documentable problems as some sort of tinfoil hat nonsense and just believe the institutions and officials who have a vested money or political interest in pretending it was all above board. And I’m saying all of that as someone who (foolishly) got double covid vaxxed before doing proper research. Seriously, I don’t understand how your comment can be, point by point, so casually and totally wrong, it’s hard to believe that you’re not just a bot or something.

They did nothing. He has said numerous times that he would like to see double-blind, placebo controlled, peer reviewed studies, and especially something to study the safety of different vaccines being administered concomitantly or consecutively. • I'm all for Leslie getting the gig. She wants to host and I think she'll be amazing

  • Imma need the writers to start checking sources. there's a clear bias going on and I'm just not a fan. News from news is better when it's looked at 360.

    • They've all done surprisingly well... Well, outside of Al Franken, IMHO (but I don't think Franken is really trying to go full time, and that showed in his relative lack of preparation). My favs, in order of preference: - Desi Lydic - Jordan Klepper - Chelsea Handler - Sarah Silverman

    • Leslie and Dulce have my votes, but in all honesty, I'm pretty sure Dulce is more likely of the two to get the full time gig (especially since I've read Leslie doesn't want it, that she likes the short term hosting job better.)
