    • And this isn't even the first time with Sir Charles, although it's on this specific genre. Even with historical nicks and jokes he has tremendous influence, to the dismay of the bums having to face the reality he brings (any future player a-la Kyrie and a-la AD won't ever have to face the check of being and acting like ''half-man half-a-season'' and ''street clothes'', or Mr ''triple single'' with Ben Simmons and Donkey, commentators just aren't built like that anymore, just like coaches, at least not coaches and commentators in their current era).

  • The end of this clip hit the nail on the head. I grew up watching in the 80s and 90s and the game was about giving EVERY fan their money's worth. That's it, plain and simple. I pay X dollars to be entertained by my favorite player and wait MONTHS to go to that game. Probably spend Hundreds of dollars for a family of 4 to see that game. Make the drive to the arena and then I find out my fav player is ON THE BENCH because of "load management". The owners won't shorten the season, the players don't want to burn out, the fans suffer.

When you're a star, everybody will try to throw stones at you. But are you gonna throw those stones back? No. Prove them wrong. Just do your job. Less talk, more work. One best example is Curry. He's been a topic of every criticism but he doesn't react through words. He poves them wrong through his game. I think KD needs someone, like a friend, who will constantly remind him when he reacts horribly to criticism.

No one hates on curry for missing the playoffs the past 2 seasons, but still bash KD for getting swept in the first round. • I think about it like this: The old school players look at it like this.... Giannis and Dirk's championship is worth more than KD's titles because Giannis and Dirk are guys who were the face of their franchise, stayed with their teams, grind it out through the disappointment of playoff failures and won it their championships without joining other superstars or bringing other superstars in. There is more respect on their titles because they didn't join a "ready made" franchise. KD joined a franchise that the season before he joined won 73 games and had two of the greatest shooters in NBA history. Enter KD and you get two rings which they did. I think what Charles Barkley is saying is if you want us to respect your rings, go and get a ring where you are the main guy. Go and get a ring where you are the face of your franchise where the franchise sinks or swims with you. The new school way of thinking is it doesn't matter how I get a ring because getting one is all that matters. When a player of KD's caliber is up for the Hall of Fame (and he is a first ballot hall of famer) is when you look at his accomplishments, it's not gonna matter how he got is ring....the resume is just gonna say he's a two time (currently) NBA Champion with all of his all-star appearances, all NBA team selections, scoring titles, and so forth and so on. Today's league is a " I got mine" league. Today's players don't care how they get it as long as they get it. Old school players take offense to that because of the pride they take in how they got what they got. What Chuck is saying is not personal, it's an indictment on the mindset of the league today. Today's players don't see that. That's just my opinion....

  • **ANYONE W/EYES** saw that Steph was the focal point of the defense (like Draymond said! & Shaq reiterated) The presence of 2 of the Top5 Shooters of All-Time made those two Finals MVPs possible/easy. KD ran from competing, ran from confronting Russ, ran from confronting Draymond & ducked confronting Kyrie. GSW lost after a 73win season, in their 2nd straight Finals Appearance in the last secs of a **GAME 7**... that doesn't scream NEEDING "KD"! they just needed an extra reliable athletic scoring threat... Had they got swept in the Semi Finals, **THAT** screams **NEEDING KD TO WIN A TITLE**
