    • If you still have these I would enjoy another video on it but a diffrent test. Put them in a good tire then 7 months down the road puncture that tire and see if it still seals. Mountain bikers have a sealer used like that but I would like something that works in my side by side in those a tire puncture is prone to happen

  • Thank you for performing this and other comparisons. I have used the SLIME sealant for years. Common concerns raised by naysayers are: (1) Corrosion to steel or alloy rims, and (2) potential damage to Tire Pressure Monitoring in-tire sensors. Your comparison gave a very brief test of possible corrosion issues. If you revisit this comparison, I recommend you allow a much longer corrosion test period, perhaps 30 days immersion versus the 1 day immersion of your current comparison. Further, I'd recommend you address the concerns of potential damage to in-tire TPM sensors. Thanks for a job well done Tom

    • Here's a tip that I learned over the years of working on cars and it works great. At every oil change, add a bottle of your favourite injector cleaner to a full tank of gas, along with half a litre of 2 cycle motor oil. I know it sounds strange, but the oil is designed to burn clean when mixed with gasoline and it lubricates the inside of the fuel pump as well as the injectors and does not show any signs of smoke.

  • Take it from a man with over a decade working at and managing multiple of America's largest independently owned tire shops, fix-a-flat absolutely can corrode your tires & rims. I have seen many very expensive rims, both OEM and aftermarket, end up destroyed from using these products. One example I will never forget was a really stupid guy who had a sedan with beautiful, very expensive custom rims and he was far too cheap to purchase the run-flat tires required by his vehicle despite our adamant warnings and his dealer advice. He had himself a brilliant idea in the back of his mind the whole time. He went right home after having the new tires installed and filled all 4 with fix-a-flat. Weeks later he comes back because his check pressure light going off every other day. Turns out the rims were so severely corroded the tires wouldn't keep an airtight seal and the chrome was just destroyed.

    • I had the green version of Slime (for tubed tyres) cause problems on alloy rims. The Slime latched onto bare metal (scratched by tyre levers) causing a lumpy clag that affected wheel balance. I would not use that grade in tubes or in tubeless as it does affect the metal. PunctureSafe/WellSeal is a tubeless grade. It did exactly what it says on the tin and saved me many times with punctured motorbike rear tyres.

    • Strange thing is, i used Fix-A-Flat years ago with great results. Needed to fix a flat in outside of Dallas on the highway, drove to Austin no problem. Took in the next day for a proper repair and it still had plenty of air in it. Maybe it needs to be driven long enough to heat the tire?

  • Got a nail in my tire tonight and I had this playing on the bluetooth as I drove to the store. Sadly they only had an STP version of Fix-A-Flat but I think it did good enough to hold until the morning when the tire shop is open. Definitely gonna buy something from the Tire Plug video to keep in my trunk now.

    • ..yep, better to put a plug in the nail hole for a temporary fix, than to put any of this junk in your tire..might seal, might not..plus, a huge mess to clean up when you take the tire off the wheel...

    • Ellotherem8 Mechanical stuff is relatively easy! When you understand the basics. Plus nowadays you can go to parts places and they will diagnose your vehicles! (Some of them do in Canada here) With KZhead it’s amazing what you can learn! You can study what you need for tools first and even borrow some of them off auto parts store that rent them out for free! (At least some new in Canada) Glad to hear somebody else start to take care of their own work! Be productive and enjoy!

  • Years ago I worked in a tire shop and what we noticed is that people who used fix a flat and bring the tire in for repair months later the rim was heavy corroded. Also the rubber on the inside of the tire was very soft(deteriorated) and made patching hard .you have to sand the area to apply the patch but the tire would just dissolve.

  • Thank You! I bought a one gallon size of Slime to use on the tires of a New Holland hay conditioner I use to mow down small brush including thorny wild growing plumb trees, of course the tires get punctured from the thorns and sharp stumps of brush. Before actually using the Slime I wanted to know what it does, how well it works, and any damage to the inside of the rim, you answered all my questions! Very thorough study! As a side note, some years ago I bought an older 4-wheeler, the seller told me the tires had been Slimed, over the next few years I could see the green Slime in between cracks of the tires but they never lost air pressure, that led me to buy the Slime for the hay conditioner and you've answered my concerns.
