  • Most of these people probably weren't even born yet when the Hustle came out -- but it's timeless and watching them let loose and have so much fun is putting a huge smile on MY face!

  • When I learned this dance in gym class in '77, there was no 'Travolta'. I'm not sure where the heck that came from, but it's different from the original way people danced it in the 70's. It's easier, though, and plays into the fun of the 70's vibe and nostalgia. And who doesn't love the Travolta? Dance on! :)

  • This is really close to The Hustle that we did - it was so great. I loved my platform shoes - we just had great calves to keep our Candies on and stay vertical! I don't know if anyone knows (or really wants to know) but the guys with long hair, shades, etc., are dressed like the 60's, not the mid 1970's when The Hustle was popular. No peace signs then. The instructor looks like the disco ladies of the time! We had so much fun and I loved the video! Really took me back. Thanks and Keep on Truckin'.

    • I agree, except…in the Midwest, St. Louis area, in Disco Era, us girls either wore disco dresses or bell bottoms &halter tops and a lot of guys still had long hair, flared pants, tight, pointed collar shirts. We all wore platform shoes and Peace signs&gold chains were very popular. There were a lot of Discos in the Bi-state counties of St. Louis Metro area and across the river in Illinois. So many great memories!

Now the population of said town is even smaller and the primary school I went to has gone and all that remains is the one high school for children of all ages and is now known as the Area School' ... so next time you doubt someone or question their credibility try to think beyond your limited imagination and bear in mind that you might just not know it all after all.

By the way there are many variations on dances and music depending sometimes to regional, country and etc., plus I believe it says: Hustle Fever Night. Not being there they might be learn different dances associated to the Hustle. Learn to enjoy life and have fun stop worrying about the little things.
