I'm also in my 60s and *mostly* not a fan of rap - at least the "gangsta" stuff because it's usually so negative and vulgar. (Gotta admit I did kinda like Gangsta's Paradise, though.) I recently discovered country-infused rap, which I like to call redneck rap, and there is a huge difference. Stuff by folks like Colt Ford, Big SMO, The Lacs, and a few others is often about wholesome values like God, hard work, family, and patriotism. Plus, you often hear real drums (instead of a phony electronic percussion sound) and some lead guitar. I am somewhat a fan of John Rich and most of what I've heard from Tom McDonald is thematically worthwhile. This song/video is no exception, and they make a good duo.

No this is more of a selected crowd that's going to really love this one. Personally I think the lyrics are great the videos but being that I absolutely hate country music and the sound of the steel string guitar it makes me want to claw out my own eyes I really don't care for this song I turned it off halfway through I couldn't get past the baseline the beat I hate it. The lyrics are great though the video is spectacular I turn down the sound and watched the video. This is only going to reach certain fans other ones like me that are more heavy metal type fans are not going to be into this one. Just like most of us were not into the ghost song because we don't like pop. Again the lyrics of the song goes for great but if you don't like pop you're just not going to like that song just like if you don't like country you're not going to like this song. That twangy southern beat was making my ears bleed. And having that country singer do the chorus was a deal breaker and ruined it completely for me I don't want to hear that in a rap song but I love his creativity and his willing to take a risk on anything but for me his last two songs were just not even close to his best
