I see that in the gun world (I'm a gun guy and I despise 'gun know how arrogance'). Thank you again, Sir. Ordered a pair of Title Gels based on your recommendation!

  • I bought a pair of 14oz Hayabusa T3 gloves after watching this vid. I haven't been training long but I'm committed. I love my gloves. It takes a while to get used to the closure system and putting them on quickly but once you've got used to them though, they're great. Really comfortable, great protection and super wrist support. They also look good and are quite unusual... which is a bonus. Thanks for the recommendation

  • I have both Those Reyes and the Hayabusa T3s (shown). Those T3s run about 99- 129 and are excellent gloves. I use them (16oz) for sparring and partner drilling. You cannot go wrong with those. The Reyes I bought were 150 and took a little more time to break in but are the perfect glove for me. I use them for my professional mitt work and training.

    • Tried winning - liked them, trued title gel - was ok, trued some cheap bad stuff (everlast, venom and bad windys) but in the end - i love the reyes gloves the most. I guess it comes down to personal preferences and hand size/shape. As much as i liked the winning - they didnt really gave me the feedback as a puncher as i feel with reyes. I can totally see why some of the great defensive boxers chose them, they absorb shots very well even when i pickabooed my sparring partners. But when i really wanted to land my bombs - only reyes.

  • For knuckle protection and durability I use Top Ten. They have the best padding in my opinion. I am using the Superfight 3000 model with 16 Oz and the double velcro strap. It's a glove that will hold up for years as most of my past Top Ten gloves performed well. I like to use 16 Oz gloves for better conditioning of my arms and shoulders and I feel the strength. And of course the padding is much better than in small bag gloves.

  • Great video. I've been enjoying Fairtex 10oz gloves for bagwork and pads. They are handmade from quality leather in Thailand and it's a point of national pride for them, this is the brand all the pro Muay Thai fighters rep over there. They are super compact and sturdy, similar to Jason's description of the Hayabusa gloves. For $70 dollars they are a great value for intermediate to advanced guys.

    @patrickstiger@patrickstiger6 жыл бұрын
    • I also use Fairtex 16 Oz BGV1 gloves for bag and pad work. They have been extremely sturdy compared to some of my previous gloves. Some might not like them because the cuff is short and there is no hand grip (being a Thai style glove). But the construction certainly is better than many alternatives at that price. I like the tight fit of the glove, that conforms to the hand with a bit of use (I was skeptical at first and thought that they were too small). I think I'm going to switch to the BGV9 (Mexican style glove) or something more traditional than BGV1 if I buy more from Fairtex.

  • I train my bags with Jim Bradley bulb head pro sparring gloves. Pretty similar to the ringside IMF. Very, very good gloves. But hands down the best wrist support/closure is the Title platinum ACS bag gloves. I think they're out of production now or they changed them. Very long wrap around the wrist, almost like a seat belt. Heavy gloves though.

    • Just buy a hybrid these gloves come with lace up and velcro. I got the Reyes hybrid advice cut the thumb connector to the rest of the glove. This will allow you to lace them then wrap the lace around the Velcro, secure the lace by running the velcro over the lace and you don’t need anyone’s help to get your work out going. Got at it bro.

  • I have RS2V's, the only con I would say is that the double strap system, while secure, is a pain to take on and off. But great wrist support, good amount of padding, and the way the straps are oriented makes it near impossible to get a cut from it (a real concern with certain non-lace gloves for sparring).

    @RevanLaughs@RevanLaughs6 жыл бұрын
    • Try taping around the tip of the straps (both sides of course), so that taped portion removes the "stickiness" of that part of the velcro strap. This should make it much easier to remove the gloves by yourself. The RS1/RS2V are one of my favorite models, but that dual velcro strap is a negative .

The thing is it they have to fit your hand really good and 10oz as an only pair could be problematic. I also own a 14oz venum for some sparring. I was afraid that 10oz reyes wouldnt be good enough for bag work - im happy to say its amazing with those 10's. If you can try them on your hand first - i recomend those big time

  • I love your videos. I'm 51 and grew up watching Ali, Frazier and Leonard. A few years ago I took martial arts classes to learn self defense and for fitness. Now I've started cardio training and punching the heavy bag. My goal is to stay in shape and never stop improving myself. Now for my question. I've been using some of the cheaper 16oz Title gloves (Classic Leather elastic training) and my wrists hurt afterwards. I need some better bag gloves with good wrist protection, so I don't injure myself until I learn good technique. I can afford to spend around $100 for a pair of gloves. I'm 5' 10" 185 lbs with 8.75" hands. I've heard good things about Ring2Cage C17 (Winnings clone) and I looked at the gloves on your site. I've read very mixed reviews about most big brands except Winnings. Some reviewers are obviously getting paid to promote one brand or another and other reviewers hate all Pakistan clones and all American brands. You seem like an honest guy. What would you recommend?

    @garymanis6305@garymanis63055 жыл бұрын
    • First make sure it isn't your wrapping that is hurting your wrists/hands. Don't wrap too tight. How long have you been hitting the bag? I started (after quiting for 8 years) to box again 4 months ago and in the first month there were days I had to stop hitting with one hand as it felt like needles going through my knuckles with every punch. Trainer told me to not wrap in between knuckles or do it very lightly, and it completely fixed the issue. Same way if one day I'm in a rush and wrap quickly and tight my wrists hurt, but if I wrap slowly and properly my wrists are just fine. I use 16oz Everlast gloves I bought at a store for like 40 bucks.

      @sebaba001@sebaba0015 жыл бұрын
    • @@sebaba001 I've been hitting the bag for just over 3 months. I was shown by a boxing instructor how to wrap my hands. I have also watched several videos covering different wrapping techniques. My knuckles and hands never get sore, just my wrists. I'm using the C17 gloves, now. They fit my hands well and do seem to offer a bit more wrist support as well as more protection for the hands. I'm using Mexican style wraps of various brands and wrapping for more wrist support. It is all helping, but my wrists still get sore the next day. I was hitting the bag too hard my first two months. I'm hitting the bag more consistently now and not trying to put my fist through it every punch. I'm also doing exercises to strengthen my hands and wrists. Thanks for the tip. I will try wrapping less tightly and see what happens.

      @garymanis6305@garymanis63055 жыл бұрын
    • @@garymanis6305 I recommend tweaking the way you wrap your hands, wrap more on the wrist, I also find it a lot more helpful to go over the wrists from the thumb twice. Also idk but maybe you're bending your wrists too much when punching? if so forearm strengthening can help a lot.

  • I have 3 pairs . 2 are ring side and 1 is tittle. The ring side are very good . alittle clunky but you cant beat the price. The tittle are more comfortable and still a good price.

  • The only gloves I have used are Everlast Powerlock 16 ounce gloves. I'm on my second pair. I have been training for three years. I use them for pad work mostly. I do need to start training more on a heavy bag, and it might benefit me to get gloves that are for bag work.

  • I've hurt my thumb before taking up boxing a couple years ago and since that i've sprained it a couple of times .. I perfected my technique ofc (most often it was body right hooks which caught elbows) but i'm thinking that gloves also play a role in this. Would anyone know a good pair of gloves with good thumb protection ?

  • I've problems with my wrist constantly and I've been looking for a glove for wrist protection since my knuckles I didn't had any problem of soreness. I'm going to buy the Title Gel World Gloves, do you think it's a good idea or there's another glove that can offer a better wrist protection for the same price?

    • If you can afford it, the best overall protection give you Winning gloves. Title Gel gloves also give you solid wrist support. Adding some extra wraps around your wrist should also help you alot.
