I love how Carey mulligan chooses her roles so carefully. She’s incredible and is bringing awareness love her
I'm a fan of Carey too. I'm sure that she will do this film much justice.
That's so true! She is such an excellent actress, it makes sense she's got to be decisive about how she uses her talent :)
Agree - looking forward to seeing her back on screen
Well said
So true. You can always count on her to bring a great and meaningful script to life.
I got chills watching this. Carey Mulligan's performance looks incredible as always!
same here.
I wonder who will play Matt Damien, Meryl Streep and Michelle Obama when they claimed he was “a great guy.”👎🏿
Same. I really want to watch this.
lol sjw bullshit
A little chubby shaggy old man with little pig eyes and who looks like the Hunchback of Notre Dame has slept with 250 of the hottest women in Hollywood. They all happily put their feet up in his hotel room! Well done Harvey!
"Hollywood is a system that protects abusers." ALL systems protect their abusers, especially the most powerful ones, whether it be in entertainment, politics, corporations, law enforcement, religion, sports, or most any other community. People at the top of these hierarchies almost always circle the wagons to protect each other, because a lot can ride on the system's clean image and it's ability to stay powerful, relevant and/or make tons of money. Abusers thrive within this institutional protection. It gives them a safe arena to abuse with impunity while their associates either stand by and do nothing (often out of fear) or actively enable the abuse. I'm glad for this movie, hopefully it will serve to educate, but we must remember these issues are ubiquitous, historical and ongoing, and not relegated to Hollywood alone.
People with absolute power abuse it. We need to change our society so people with power don't have the ability to wield it against others, like Harvey Weinstein, the CIA, many police officers, and so many others have done for years.
On a separate note, you are a great writer.
Thank you. Anywhere there is inequality shit like this happens. Churches, Sports even just some poor hotel housekeeper trying to fend off the manager.
A lot of people care passionately about the subject, few can articulate it as eloquently as you. You should seriously pursue writing if it interests you. Have a great weekend :)
It will serve to educate NO ONE. The problem lies in the greater SOCIETY ignoring the problem. This is just another example of what I coined as: Apologist Cinema. Take a problem one knows exists and is, as you so eruditely pointed out, ubiquitous and make a movie about it that will change nothing in the grander scale but serves rather as a calmative to the supposedly outraged masses. It's a joke really but people have been buying their brand of drug for almost a century. The belief that movies can change society is, in a word: insane. But of course look at the species. Born insane.
Carey Mulligan was robbed for an Oscar for Promising Young Woman. She needs to win an Oscar for the movie She Said in 2023.
lol...you still believe Oscar is about talent? wakeup
She should've Definitely won..🙌🏼🙌🏼
If is not this year next year she is defintly going to be in the conversation for Marstro
like Amy Adams she's been long overdue for a while
@@tobyhall7543 Oh Absolutely 🙌🏼🙌🏼 I love her & she is definitely long overdue!!!
Woah! Carey Mulligan! Patricia Clarkson! Jennifer Ehle! Samantha Morton! Zoe Kazan! This ladies knock it out of the park everytime, no doubts they will do so here!
Can't wait to see this movie it looks so good.
Patricia Clarkson is in this? Let's go!!!!
I wonder who will play Matt Damien, Meryl Streep, and Michelle Obama when they claimed Harvey is a ,” great guy.”👎🏿 Side note, one of the most beautifully edited trails I have seen.
Sigh! Swoon!
@@mananimal3644 Streep is the worst of them all. She also gave Polanski a standing ovation. What a POS she is.
Carrie mulligan is an incredible actress!!!! She blew my mind in “Promising young woman!” That film was so brilliant and moving! 👏🏻 Can’t wait for this film! 🔥
i love francis mcdormand, and nomadland, but mulligan should have won best actress. she was mindblowing in promising young woman. i'm glad it at least got best original screenplay. it's a masterpiece.
@@cellardoor4199 Same here, I love Frances and Nomadland, Frances fits more in winning Best Picture, Carey should've won Best Actress. A groundbreaking turn for her career
@@4deleDaz33m im still a little bitter. lol
@@cellardoor4199 Same, even her first Oscar nomination which was An Education, man she should've won that Oscar too instead of Sandra Bullock in The Blind Side
Give this one a miss. It's feminist trash.
Carey Mulligan is so outspoken about this topic that i can only imagine this will be one of her lifetime performances
Give this one a miss. It's feminist trash.
This looks so good. Carey Mulligan is a force - so unbelievable in "Promising Young Woman." Can't wait to see Zoe Kazan in this, too.
Finally! I was looking forward for someone who would put this story in a movie 👍🏻
Somehow it's still Trump's America!
Much like other journalist investigation movies, this is total Oscar bait. Unlike those others, this will be ignored with a pointedness unlike we've ever seen before - because the movie business just wants to ignore that this ever happened. They like movies about the movie business; they do not like movies about movie business scandals.
I hope you're wrong, but I won't be surprised if you're right.
No, they'll go the other way. It'll win Best Picture and everyone at the Oscars will pat themselves on the back about how brave and honest they were to make this film and how now that evil Harvey Weinstein is gone everything's fine now. Nothing to see here.
But the movie business made this movie though lol
@@oscarfun100 Exactly. This is no indie film, and the bad guy is not the movie industry, it's Weinstein and the execs, lawyers, PR people, agents, etc. that protected him while he abused young actresses. The film's point being that the problem is not systemic, it's bad apples, and good reporting exposes them.
@@abbiezercoppe haha, you’re so right! I can picture that Oscar night right now! Standing ovation all around, trying to make everyone on tv believe like it’s not still currently happening 🙄😖
I'm so grateful this film has been made. Even moreso that the it's led by two great actors and is obviously brilliantly written and directed. I usually wait for films to be streamed, but I'm buying cinema tickets for this one as soon as it's released.
I’m shocked, the only way I figure it could get made is that Harvey no longer has power in Hollywood, he no longer produces, Cinema itself is struggling/shrinking against other media. But yeah I’d watch the shit outta this
A little chubby shaggy old man with little pig eyes and who looks like the Hunchback of Notre Dame has slept with 250 of the hottest women in Hollywood. They all happily put their feet up in his hotel room! Well done Harvey!
The movie is flop
@@harfi212 It's a complete bomb.
@@scorchedearth4248 it doesn't matter if it's a bomb or not. It matters that's it's made at all.
Zoe Kazan is one of a kind 🙏🏼
Yep!!!!!!
This is the kind movie I am always super looking forward to. Super grateful to have brought this out.
They lost me at “NYT investigative journalist.”. A LOT of those actresses were very complicit..
“Who have you talked to?” CHILLS!!!!! Seriously, it was such a great choice to not show HW’s face at all in the trailer! They conveyed just how dangerously powerful he was!
Good point stephanie! Scary even 😞
Yeah, a menacing omnipresence. Really good work.
I have such mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, I would love to hear more about this story. But on the other-I don’t know that I want to hear it from the mouth of the same fucked up industry that it’s portraying. It all feels…so surreal. Hollywood made a movie about Hollywood. Idk.
Same.. let's face all of them knew about it.
i hear you and i think ....It's called progress and justice...and change...when systems change from within it can actually take hold and last...but i understand your skepticism
It's not Weinstein's Co making it
@@carolmaywatson2640 do you think Weinstein is the only person in Hollywood that does this? Cause I assure you, that’s not the case. It’s all the same industry. And it’s all the same industry that let it happen, almost encourage it, in the first place.
@sehhi vooty ???
Samantha Morton = so good in Elizabeth (w/ Cate Blanchett) Jennifer Ehle = incredible in Zero Dark Thirty Carey Mulligan = everything she does is brilliant Patricia Clarkson = phenomenal Love this cast
Yes, that is a wonderful group of artists.
Needs Ruth Wilson to truly house the best working females.
@@johnedwardkerr7814 Good call
Samantha Morton > Jane Eyre Jennifer Ehle > Elizabeth Bennet Carey Mulligan > Lydia Bennet A trio of classic Regency characters :)
I cannot wait to see this movie! Carey Mulligan and Zoe Kazan are two of my favourite actresses and it’s going to be great to see them act opposite each other 🤩
OMG is that Captain Holt
Carey Mulligan, Zoe Kazan, Samantha Morton, Patricia Clarkson, and Andre Braugher? Yes please!
Don't forget Jennifer Ehle
Immediate tears. Carey Mulligan isn’t choosing these roles just because. She knows what she’s doing and I fucking love it!
Give this one a miss. It's feminist trash.
I'm glad Hollywood is finally addressing this problem! Good thing it's DEFINITELY not happening anymore.
…that’s a joke, right?
@@rs7458 irony much?
@@jondee7454 😂
Oh wow!! This looks incredible! Spotlight is one of my favorite movies. This looks like it could be “Spotlight’esque”! Great cast!
Brava, brava, brave women! I just lost a clear retaliation case due to reporting harassment and I'm an HR manager!! More of these films please!! Much appreciated 💕
The New York Times😂😂😂😂 sat on Weinstein story for decades. Not until it was to big to hide did they come out with a story
Exactly. Now they want to look like heroes. All these elites helped him do this, & they should all be in prison with Harvey.
I got chills like 4 times watching this trailer. So glad this film was made 🙌🙏
See Zoe’s name, I click. If she’s attached to this project more likely than not it’s a good one and a must-see.
This looks SO GOOD
That's what she said
sorry but this looks terrible, no cinematic language at all, no tone, just echo chamber yells "we are in shock, this is terrible" , Hollywood at its most self-congratulatory. At least looks funny, 1:40 the power of that hand !!
I'm so excited for this film! Carey Mulligan is such a good actress and I loved her in 'Promising Young Woman', really hope she gets her Oscar for this film
Finally theyre making a film about this. Looking forward to seeing this...
We will dish out our dollars to see a movie about the horrible things that can come from the money and power that we give to hollywood...oh the irony
I'm so glad they cast Carey Mulligan!
Wow! Goosebumps… Can’t wait for this to come out 🙌
Sickening to see they’ve made a movie out of this. It’s a bit like law enforcement investigating their own wrongdoing!
3 of my favorite actors( Carey Mulligan, Zoe Kazan and Patricia Clarkson)
The NYT should have just called Michelle Obama and hundreds of others of "Special people" and they would have told him what a great human being he is and then they could have dropped the story...
Thank you for show me the whole 🎥 in a few minutes
The truth is that 99% of people connected to this movie KNEW. Everyone knew. They are we’re quiet.
Starlets sleeping with producers to get a part? Impossible...
Also…while I think this story needs to be brought to the big screen…it’s also super hypocritical right? Hollywood knew this behavior was going on for DECADES, long before Harvey, and did nothing. Hell people working at this studio behind this movie have probably engaged in the casting couch.
A movie about the worst people on the planet...journalists.
Carey Mulligan is such a talented, beautiful, smart and sweet actrice, I admire her so very much!!
We don’t need a film from Hollywood about how rotten Hollywood is, we need the truth.
The way she said "what payoffs jhon?". The power of how his wife felt in just one sentence. I normally love Carey Mulligan movies she is great choosing her movies
exactly!
Is this serious?
Nah I’m crying, this is the best book I’ve ever read and is the reason I became a journalist ❤️
Give this one a miss. It's feminist trash.
The book was phenomenal! Excited to see this on screen.
This looks so good!!!!!🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Moral of the story: See those people with their high social / professional status and fancy ways of living? Envy them not, envy nobody.
This looks incredible. Carey Mulligan always delivers. If anyone hasn’t seen her breakout role in “An Education”, I highly recommend. Her talent shone from the very beginning (like Kate Winslet in “Heavenly Creatures”).
Can't wait to see it... hopefully it's good.
Wow, just the trailer in itself is powerful.
This comes out on my birthday!! And as someone who has had to speak truth to power and still did not get the justice I deserved, I cannot wait to see this
Write your OWN 'Pelican Brief', if you haven't already.
Mulligan is fantastic. Constantly chooses intense roles. She also has a fantastic voice. I greatly appreciate she doesn’t do the annoying upspeak as many Americans do. Mulligan is a great narrator for audiobooks. This film looks fantastic. This topic is so important and I hope people aren’t getting sick of it. (Hell yes Jodie Comer doing Prima Facie!) The cast is top shelf in this.
Certainly couldn’t ask the women who knew what was going on but said nothing. That cancels 1/2 the women in Hollywood
I love love love Cary Mulligan. She's amazing.
Thank you for making this film
I'm definitely seeing this movie!!!
I see Carey Mulligan, I click- she is the best!!!! by far!
This looks amazing. I love Carey Mulligan.
More like "That what she said"
Interesting that this story absolutely does not exist if the guy is a nobody, because if a nobody pulls this kind of shit, the woman walks out the door immediately. If the guy is a somebody, she stays. Why is that?
I think Carrie Mulligan is absolutely brilliant for nailing this snooty Californian boujie mom accent. She is absolutely brilliant for it. Almost every single actress in Hollywood sounds like this
I truly hope The New York Times has not made this story more about themselves...
Me too - chills all the way through
Yes!! Can't wait! Long time in coming!
Why are these actresses speaking their dialogue so slowly? I can literally see them reading from the script.
Can't wait. Zoe Kazan and Patricia Clarkson are 2 of my favorites. Is there a woman left on the planet who hasn't dealt with narcissistic abuse, rape, and/or any other degradation? It needs to stop and now. And that's just the women. There are countless men and boys also still recovering.
Damn! The last sentences slapped me
This will probably be nominated for a few Oscar's and if it wins it'll probably get applause from the same people that were sucking up to Harvey Weinstein just 6 years ago in every Oscar speech.
Hollywood decided showcasing Ronan Farrow didn't fit the "Strong Woman" narrative.
Seen the whole film now.
Something about this feels like the lines have been written to be overly impactful in a trailer and won't feel natural, but hopefully I'm wrong
Wow, a guy whining about this movie. Imagine our astonishment.
@@lizziebkennedy7505 I'm not complaining about it. It truly is a story that needs to be told and I hope it does the same as Spotlight did highlighting the abuse in the church for the abuse in Hollywood as someone who has suffered SA I'd never wish failure on anything speaking for victims but it still doesn't negate that the trailer wasn't marvellous
Looks on par with Spotlight and All The President's Men. Very excited to see this.
Hollywood now trying to be “good”. That’s comedy. No wonder why this film failed.
Suffragette (2015) - Promising Young Woman (2020) - She Said (2022). This IS Carey Mulligan's trilogy.
*YEEEES* CAREY AND ZOE so brilliant!!!!
Carey Muligan deserves an oscar!!!!!!
It's looks like they just filmed people reading the script for the first time. That was amazing.
I wonder who's playing Ronan Farrow of those two ladies...
I can't express how grateful I am for making this movie
Lol I can't tell if people are being sarcastic or serious in the comments lol. I've got chills! They are multiplying! This trailer has me wrecked lol
Where are those people who praising this trailer ? As it comes out, the movie is a flop.
Gives me Spotlight vibes!
everybody in the comments : "wow Carey mulligan's such a great actress" me: "CAPTAIN HOLT"
Harvey is one in a million. We need to stop this.
This could be a well crafted and well acted story, but if there is nothing about the colleagues who turned a blind eye then it's only telling part of the story...
I love this ! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow! Can't wait!
Where’s Ronan Farrow?! Wasn’t he a big part of developing this investigation?
Where is Ronan farrow in this??
I need to see this because I thought that Ronan Farrow brought Harvey down. I’m confused
Literally everyone in this movie would have worked with Harvey Weinstein 5 years ago and hilarious this is exactly the sort of award baiting garbage he helped pioneered. Respect to the producers for honouring his memory.
That's the point. He used his position to abuse. Good producers are replaceable. Men are replaceable. And anyone can tell this story and show that. Men who want to stories like these have something to hide.
And the pedophiles? Every level of our society.
“Can you imagine how many “Harvey’s” are out there?” …we truly have no idea!!
This is a very important film. Unfortunately, it will take a long time before we get global equality between the sexes.
Hollywood knew what he was doing, but now they act like they didn't know anything. Lol ok
Some people with power and influence will abuse it, please be safe out there. Don't meet anyone at a hotel room or late at night who claims this is business unless you are ok with the more than likely possibility of something more than business happening.
Promising Young Woman was such an intelligent take on systemic issues and Carey Mulligan was absolutely Oscar worthy in it... can't wait for this to come out!
Kazan and Mulligan 👏👏👏👏
Getting some 'Spotlight" vibes from this trailer. Hope it delivers on the depth and intensity.
We have all heard of the casting couch from 50 years ago. It was never a secret we just didn't know who participated. Had no idea it was still going on. That's the shocking part.
