I love your talking dog. It actually looks and sounds like he’s responding to you. That is a very valuable part of the show. It’s cute and absurd. We need both in this time of craziness.
Huskies do know how to communicate really well and if you don't understand them, they will talk until you get it. They have such wonderful personalities. The drawbacks, they have a lot of energy so if you don't want to run them, they will run themselves. They also shed really bad.
I have never heard a dog talk like Lightning does. He is good company for you Phil

Phil, I’ve never thought of you as a chateau Reno kinda guy. Your place just needs cosmetics, mainly. You’re more of a mechanical kinda of guy who can also do home repairs and help all his friends with their mechanical issues among other things. No need to apologize or worry. Just be Phil. Gardening isn't just a chore, it is feeding the soul and relaxing the brain. The colour green is known to have a beneficial impact on your well-being and reduces stress. Which is why we all need to get outside and enjoy whatever green space we have. If you get the mower fixed (should be top priority) you can get the help you spoke about weeks ago, to do the mowing, leaving you to do other stuff that will have an impact. If it isn't a frog making that noise, it could be either a magpie or jay. 🙂

My grandmother “mowed lawn” into her late eighties. It was the women’s job on the farms. She lived to be 102, so it didn’t do any apparent harm.
I got my 1st titanium/zirconium hybrid hip in my 20's... mobility is something I never take for granted. Walking behind a mower is my happy place, I consider it therapy for mind & body so I hope I'm like your Gram and keep going... 💪

I love it when you have conversations with your puppy dog. You know life is about choices and we have to make them sometimes. You do one project but you have to neglect something else to get that project done. That’s just the way it is. I’ve given up scolding myself for not getting everything done in the day that I have going on in my head. I just can’t do it all in one day. Something has to give well something else gets done

You just reminded me Phil. We have two acres and our rider mower is in the shop so I've been complaining about the high grass. Well with the high grass our yard is covered in white clover flowers, so pretty. We also have little white wild daisy's everywhere. The bees are having a glorious time and our great grand kids are in awe of all the flowers, what can be better than that, the grass can wait a little longer!!! Kathy USA 🇺🇸

It didn't get the way it is overnight. It took longer than a year as things where slipping before your "bad" year started. In just a few months you have made some really great decisions and started doing some renovations for the future and are now taking care of the garden for Now. Enjoying Now is so important, the tree, the water, the carp, the smell of fresh cut grass, and yes sitting back at the end of the day with glass of wine and your doggo, enjoying the view in the sunset = Perfect!

I’m just finishing off my comment on your blog…. Doing what you want to do each day is your choice. You might think about adding some ‘about time’ for your coffee break and think about lunch ideas. Find some amazing food cafe nearby to eat couple of times a week. Fit your weights schedule into your day. Sorta make a rota for yourself that will guide you but not control you. I think that’s a good plan. Anyway, the drive looks better. Maybe make the edges cut in a line if you get my drift. Get a ball out in the garden to get the dog chasing and using energy. He needs some exercising. Love his growls and grumbles lol. Glad you’re keeping onboard with us.

Phil, I believe that sound is from frog's. They become very vocal around mating season. Which means your lake will be full of tadpoles soon.❤🐸🇬🇧🇺🇸

You have finally realised what life is all about Phil, so glad you have dealt with this last year and put it behind you. The secret is work hard when needed but make sure you have at least one day a week for 'Me Time' or one at least one afternoon a week. The grounds of the Chateau are looking beautiful plus the birds are the soothing music of nature. 💕🇦🇺

I see what you mean about the chateau, it would be really difficult to replace all the great things about the place. Some of the projects are a bit daunting but it will be exciting to see the details of the work. Hopefully some of the friends can lend a hand, would be an exciting collab

I do a lot of everything inside and out myself as well, it’s rough. The weather is what dictates what I do and what section I do it in basically. I have my back which consists of a n in ground vegetable garden, raised bed garden, orchards. The front consists of a rose garden, front hedge flower garden, and beds all around my house. I have 10 acres total and have been catching up with everything this past year since I’ve been on light duty and everything went to the weeds. So I get it, I brake it up into doable sections that I know I can do in half a day and spend the other half inside doing something. So my advise is that you will have to do what is manageable for you and on your timetable. Give yourself a brake and don’t for get to listen and smell the roses along the way. Hugs from Texas!

Merlin identifies the bird song in the clip as a Eurpoean Robin. As others have said on the chat the strange' noise is likely to be a Frog
one step at a time, do what you can when you can... pushing myself too hard can lead to nothing happening at all... take time for self care. I love listening to you and Lightning chit chatting... that sounds like a tree frog to me, not a bird :D

I think these sounds are made by frogs during the mating season, not by birds :)
