Open Bite Correction with Motion 3D Clear and Aligners

This video shows how Motion Clear and Aligners can correct an open bite. The treatment includes a myofunctional therapy, which is painless. The exercises are relatively simple. When certain muscles of the face are activated and functioning properly, other muscles will follow suit until proper coordination of the tongue and facial muscles are attained.Myofunctional therapy is an exercise-based treatment. Patients learn exercises that relate to tongue placement, breathing, speaking, chewing and swallowing. This exercise is necessary for patients with open bites.

  • You SHOULD keep the back of your tongue up when resting and should NOT part your lips when chewing. This video might help your open bite but it will create other issues!!!

    • @@TonchingChang not putting your tongue on the roof of your mouth will lack support of your cranium and will make your pallete smaller (which impacts airway and can cause sleep apnea as well as make you more ugly). Parting your lips means you are also not using the muscles of your face properly including your cheekbones which means your face will drop even more

  • i have an open bite and it causes me to have speech problems 😢 sometimes the s sound and ch sound are hard and embarrassing to make. with the ch sound my whole jaw moves weirdly in order to make the sound. sucks a lot. i even stopped talking at school because of it

  • Interesting. Mewing moves the maxilla forward and up not backward like in this video. This correction shown in the video makes the face profile shorter and causes the nose look bigger and the chin look smaller and the cheekbone disappear. But at least you will have nice teeth. :) The tongue posture demonstration was very good in the video.

  • When I close my jaw only 3 of my teeth touch each other and only on the outer tips of the teeth (not the full tooth). Would this still work? Or do the majority of my teeth need to at least be touching each other? Any advice would be much appreciated

    • i had the same thing. my orthodontist first had me wear an expander on my palate for a little less than a year, and now i have braces where i wear bands to pull the teeth down . I've had braces for two months and its crazy how much progress ive made in such a schort amount of time

    • @@seanmcmanus3033 my orthodontist (in Florida) charged me about $6,000 total which I’m paying for in monthly payments. Also if you want an update and you have a similar case, I’ve had my braces for six months now and all of my teeth touch each other! It’s crazy. There’s still some work to be done to completely close the tiny gaps and perfectly align the teeth but they have made so much progress and actually look normal and flattering when I smile

  • What is the average cost of these aligners? I had braces to straighten my teeth and fix this issue but it has started to return (they told me I could stop wearing my retainers, later they said no retainers are for life) teeth are pretty straight but starting to have slight anterior open bite again and would like to get it fixed but $5000 for braces isn’t going to happen again...

    • TheLoadedMind hello 👋 I don’t know if you were able to find out but talking from my experience... I’m currently on this exact treatment . My ortho told me my teeth are straight now we are using the aligners to close the bite and the cost was $800.

    • I have an anterior open bite I was supposed to get braces last week but I had someone come up on my x-ray... Anyways my Ortho told me even with braces the open bite would almost certainly come back without intervention of the root of the issue...I have a tongue thrust..but no evidence of jaw issues so I most likely won't need jaw surgery...I had to get anchors put in to move my side teeth and also take speech therapy to learn how to hold my tongue...if ur Ortho didn't give u a root cause of ur open bite ur not going to be able to truly fix it

    • The trick is to only smile with your top teeth. Don't bite down when you smile. Open your mouth just a little bit when you smile only showing your top teeth and have your bottom lip right below your top teeth covering your bottom teeth. That's what I do since I have an open bite as well and it looks completely normal and you would never know. If you look at my profile picture I'm actually smiling like that so it's a perfect example lol. Never smile with all your teeth biting down lol.

    • it’s not braces .... it’s a tongue crib you need. i just got one yesterday AND braces firdt of all- my teeth hurt so much braces are ass 😭 second- i have a big over bite so the tongue crib has like a thingy where it goes on the roof of ur mouth and makes it so you can’t like put ur teeth all the way down while you’re in a resting position- you basically have ur braces pulling your teeth straight fixing your over bite and the tongue crib with it but your teeth are wiggly when you have braces in so the tongue CAGE part of it it blocking your tongue from being in the incorrect position and pushing on your teeth also sorry if i explained like badly i’m 12 🧍

    • @@RamRam-hz9em if you bite your tongue yea, thats the point of it and the bars- so you get used to it. i recently got the bar part taken out but i still have the crib in my mouth because i still have teeth growing in and its fixing my overbite, it takes time sadly. also, ive had braces sooner than i had the tongue crib so, yea also, happy birthday to me lol; im 13 now 👍
