The human-snake conflict in India is a serious problem. Snakes live in the agricultural landscape and often enter houses. Some deadly venomous snake species are very common, such as the Spectacled cobra (Naja naja) and the Russell's viper (Daboia russelii). It is good when people don't go closer to the snake, but they call a snake rescuer. Many bites happen when people try to kill the snake. We joined local snake rescuers in Jharkhand and managed to rescue 2 large cobras from a pile of shingles and a huge Russell's viper from an unused toilet in one day! Everything happened in a rural area with many people around!
Those Indian village folks have such a good vibe, even if some are a little too careless. That freshly shed and fed Russell's is a knockout! The fun you two get into! :)

The famous line from the movie "Jaws" came into my mind, but in this case it thought it was going to be "I think you're gonna need a bigger tube" to get both cobras in. 🤣🤣 I think you saved those mice from a nasty end in the wood shed. 😁 Excellent video, thank you.
Local snake rescuers were trying different techniques (bags, buckets, tubes) and they brough this tube while we did not know that there are two snakes in that place. We had an extra bag if it was needed 🙂 Yes, those mice would get eaten for sure! Thank you for watching! 🙏

Yes, there are many people and many snakes! Most people don’t wear proper shoes, walk without a torch at night and don’t keep the surroundings of their homes nicely clean.

Why why WHY do these people keep letting piles of garbage and debris accumulate enough to attract rodents which, in turn, attract these deadly snakes?! Cleaning things up would go a long way in the prevention of snakebite. WHEN are they going to LEARN??!
Many of them don't know about it, that's why education is so important. But as you say, a bit of thinking could prevent many snakebites.
@@LivingZoology Well, contrast India with another country Southeast of there called Australia! We all know that Australia has the deadliest serpents in the world, right? Yet, how many people a year die of snakebite in Australia, a half dozen at the most? Maybe it's because the citizenship demonstrates some brains. There are only 25 million people. Australia hasn't shown the same need to inflate its population to a full billion more than that of the U.S.! Australian people also know better than to let garbage accumulate because they know what rodents eventually bring to the scene! Oh, and they also know better than to walk around barefoot in the dark!
@@FischerFan Australia has a perfect healthcare system and if you get bitten by a snake the treatment is covered. You get to a hospital quickly even from remote areas (by a helicopter for example). In India, you will have to pay huge amount of money to get antivenom (from the point of view of the local person of course), you might use the whole family's life savings. There will be a huge problem to get to a hospital in the heavy traffic and they might not even have antivenom. Not everything is about people being stupid. Of course, education plays a vital role and many accidents in India could be avoided.

Indian government hospital gives free treatment to people. if u go private, u pay...I myself got bitten by a monocled cobra...I got saved....U went some remote part of India and giving lecture..... Comparing Australia to India...Can Australian government has power to feed, treat , hospital insurance to 140 billion people...They will just shit... Giving lecture is enough and don't comment if u don't know properly about india and just visited one perticular place and thinking of whole india idiot 😂

We are not really sure what you are trying to say and why you unsubscribed. We educate people about snakes for 10 years now and it was never about the money. Yes, we are lucky that filming snakes has become a full-time job for one of us, the intention was never to make money first though.
@@roydavis51they somehow have to finance all their trips I guess... Travelling around the world is not for free, especially with all the equipment. I can't even imagine all the costs 😅 How can you not see the passion they have for snakes after being subscribed and watching their videos? Passion is always over money, money is just a tool to make it possible
