Loved to see you guys got an Argo and are loving it. My wife and I have had one for about 7 years and we love it, It pulls out my kids Jeeps all the time, we have a 650 frontier on Mud tracks. Enjoy!
My cousin has a J5 and he has a J8 with 6 foot wide pads he uses it for grooming and breaking snowmobile trails through the bog. Then after it freezes up he will use a tractor with tracks because it's a lot faster to groom with. Holthusen Construction they got the contract in Northwest mn for maintaining the winter fun in the area.
Cannot believe it what a game changer with tracks. Glad you guys had fun demonstratng it to us.
Glad to see Buzz's AK Bush Tracks getting some love, he's an active guy in the Argo community and makes an awesome set of tracks
He definitely make a kick ass set of tracks!
Cool site name didn't utube make u add a nmbr at the end how did you get past that?
Very cool. The tracks are a gamechanger. Looks like a lot of fun.
Been using an Argo 8x8 tracked to plow our VERY steep gravel driveway and it is awesome, had not seen these tracks before, but yes 100% Argo needs tracks in the snow. Also Ice Cleats can help
Awesome video as always!! Those argos are amazing. Never seen one stuck with tracks ever
Awesome looking Argo! I didn't expect tracks like them! Very cool and merry Christmas
Love the video. The Argo is a beast when it has tracks, almost looks unstoppable. We have had temperatures around 0 Fahrenheit for the past days and I don't see how you guys stand it but playing outside on fun Off-road stuff and dressing good must make the difference. Merry Christmas !!
Totally Awesome 👍. Merry Christmas Osta Family. ⛄🦌🌟🎄
Wow that thing is sweet!! A bit slow but i can see alot of fun being had on it! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
I like how it doesn't throw all the snow in your lap and face from the tracks like all other tracked ATV's do!
You guys always have fun
Growing up as a kid with a Max 6 wheeler and later just destroying a couple of Argos I can say the best fun you can have in one is blasting down a creek bed in summer time going from gravel bars to water wide open and getting drenched is big fun. They definitely have a place off-road. If one was built with bigger tires and major suspension it would surely help the fun factor.
Don't forget that many species of wildlife have their habitat ruined when riding creeks and streams. Think about them and your time will be blessed while having fun. Don't, and watch your world fall apart!
750 HDI 6x6 with Adair tracks and ice cleats really makes winter mineral exploration in the Ontario forests much easier and enjoyable. .
Merry Christmas And A Happy New Year 😊👍🌹
Enjoy that land wish I had that much only have 15 acres but more than most so always thankful for what I have.
Thats the coolest thing Ive seen in a while
You showing us more of what the Argo can tackle will be entertaining.
Merry Christmas 🎁🎄 Ostacruiser family.. I have never seen Mrs.Ostacruiser get so crazy on a machine before..usually she is the calm one…lol..I have been wanting a Argo for years..now I will probably get one..
Haha right!! I was like Holy smokes she is ripping. I cut out a part where she flew over a snowbank too haha
Loved my demo Argo, it's definitely a beast but boy she's function over form lol
Haha for sure. Hope you guys are staying warm!
@ostacruiser balmy negative 40 here in yellowknife right now but it's looking warm this week!
Not sure if you’ve ever tried it but if I know I’m going to be riding in mud in a field or snow with no trees around I bring a boat anchor (the kind made to dig in to sand). Works amazing to winch from when I bury my atv. I use a 7lb anchor for the atv, I bet a 20lb would be perfect for the Defender or Argo. If it doesn’t work… totally not my fault!
this is the best thing you could do to an argo!! i love it!!
You both are a little crazy......Love it!!
That thing looks like fun!! Awesome video! 😁
Definitely wouldn't have one without those tracks in snow or mud.
🙂Welcome to the clubLove my Argo! with those tracks it’s unstoppable. One thing with those tracks you need mud flaps to keep mud and snow out of cargo area. I have stock Argo tracks now on a 2015 hd 750 camo advenger model. Argo Tracks work pretty dang good but your tracks are number 1! Loved them tracks and will probably go back to them in the future.
Merry Christmas to you and your family. Keep up the videos love it. Ready for the skeg again in the spring. 👊🏼👊🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Thank you Cole! Merry Christmas
Cant wait to see a skeg video with that beast!
Merry late Christmas Osta fam! Wish you an awesome and successfull upcoming 2023!
Thanks brother!! Same to you, all the best in 23
The lil dog almost got it. 😝. Can t say I would see him myself if I was messing around in the snow. But I need o e of those argos.
love to see it in the skeg
Ahhh! I’m jealous! I love Argo, but never had the funds. Have fun!
Looks like Mrs.Osta has a new rig to float over the skeg while everyone around her is stuck haha 👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼 amazing Rig!!
Haha exactly correct
I love these videos! Keep it up!
Merry Christmas 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄💚
Merry Christmas to you all
Happy Holidays Ostacruiser! 🇺🇸
Thank you brother!! All the best to you in 2023!!
Now all you need is a set of tracks for that rig. Shit I spoke too soon I see you got the tracks already lol 👍👍
Iv had both a max and Argo and loved the conquest 8x8 with tracks was an animal and would go anywhere would like another one at some point
So many machines!
That thing frickin’ rips!
We had a turbo one brought up from the us to demo on a bear hunt in Alberta thing was a beast hauled 5 guys a tri axel trailer loaded down with bait
I just bought a huntmaster 850 as well throwing some trakcs on errr. I found the wheels got my stuck in the real nasty skeg holes, it will be nice to not winch as much.!!
great machine some day i will have one to thanks for shareing tho and happy holidays
Nice machine dude. I got my self a 2022 frontier 8x8 last spring. Best thing ever!!!
Right on
Just need a windshield now! Roof and heater next lol
Definitely!! Lol
That Argo will be awesome on the Skeg! can't wait to see it go through that hahaha.
Going to be a blast lol
Can am engine in a Argo would be insane!!
nice finaly one of your unusual vids i like ;-)- tracks work fine- cute dog btw ;-)
Awesome video, I'm looking at picking one of these up. Those tracks sure do look heavy!
actually about 15 lbs lighter per side than factory flat rubber tracks. Double outer belts can also be added.
haha you guys were working on your argo i was working on my ford 8n tractor, got er to start after 26 years of sitting in a barn. merry christmas guys
Awesome! Merry Christmas!
Love the video! Did I see a Sherp outside and one in the garage? Almost forgot, MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Lots of toys right now😅😅
Sweet ride!
Going to be epic for sure
Argo also makes rubber ones. That are pretty nice. They don’t let the snow get through it. Float better
STRAIGHT BEAST‼️ 💯
Things you can’t even consider doing on a SXS!!!! ARGO is in a league of its own! Bad ice the winter of 23/24, no ice fishing, not wanting to risk swimming in ice water.
Still waiting on you to get those SXSBL0G GUYS up there with you and do some riding HELL YEAH BROTHER let's go 💪
It's happening❤️❤️
had a tracked scrambler 6x6 years ago that we used for hunting geese in the gulf coast. these machines are capable but the flaw they all have i that they get high centered very easily. a winch and an anchor saved the day many times.
We learned that very quickly😅😅
@@ostacruiser yeah we were less than impressed with these machines because of that.
I love how mrs. O enjoys it lol.
She's the best!
Have a 6 wheel argo and 8 wheel Argo that are on tracks and built full cabs for them. We run them in the upper peninsula at our camp. We love them
A cab would be so nice! Thanks for the comment
we're trackin here~!!!
Dude. That thing is AWESOME!! Looks like a ton of fun. Mrs Osta was certainly enjoying it. Haha. Argo’s have always been awesome, but it’s going to be HARD to beat the Centaur. The Argo 8x8 will be faster, but I don’t know…either way, the Argo wins 😂
Merry Christmas Guys!
The tracks seem to slow it down a little bit. It also boggs a little more. That's understandable though, extra weight and rotating mass. The tracks also add some ground clearance on top of the floatation. Looks to be 1 to 1.5 inches. Another awesome rig added to the collection of awesome rigs! Congratulations Osta!
Agreed on all points. Thanks for the comment
Argos are great tools we use them to sika deer hunt and duck hunt. They are surprisingly simple machines that are tough and last if you do simple maintenance. They are not really fun other than going where others can’t. Rough ride slow etc definitely a bad toy if that’s what your after
POST TRACKS 16:00 WOAH !!! IT JUST GOES !!! it's diggin like it don't really care, YOU CAN HEAR IT GRUNTING AND I couldda swear I heard it saying ""CHUGG CHUGGCHUGG CHUGG CHUGG CHUGGCHUGGCHUGG GRUNT!!!""" (TIM ALLEN GRUNT)
Awesome now you need the windshield and canopy!! She will most likely go where the sherp cant 🙂
I work with an argo with track for many years. To avoid chain windup you should follow argo recommandations about tires sizing : with tires inflate to 5 psi, install the smallest tires on the front axle. On the second axle, install the largest tires. Follow this with the second-largest tires on the third axle and the second smallest on the rear axle. Finally, air up the tires to the following pressures, from front to back: 5, 7, 7, 6 psi or 4, 6,6,5... Have fun !
Sorry with these tracks you never get chain wind up and I run 5 psi in all tires. I never loose traction!
I enjoy watching yous guys are both crazy lol
Beautiful machine, but good luck with it. Looks like crazy fun.
Hey @ostacruiser, that model argo has the admiral transmission. I know with your can am’s your used to running low range alot in sticky situations, but the admiral trans is different, you run hi range all the time unless doing very slow tight trail maneuvering. This is for 2 reasons. In hi, the admiral powers all wheels all the time like a locked diff even when turning. (When turning another set of gears are engaged to turn the inside wheels 1/3 speed or outside wheels). This way you get way better traction. Also in low range when the machine is skid steering like the ild argos, one side is slowly counter rotating. If you use low at higher speeds it will damage the trans.
Okay, thank you for the insight
You can maintain a bit more of your power when installing tracks on these machines by: removing the balloon tires & using turf tires such as for a lawn tractor or golf cart instead. The sidewalls flex less and so more power to drive the track instead. I know someone who rents these out to powerline maintenance companies, so he modifies many of them. Cool tracks havnt seen these particular ones before 😎
That’s so awesome. Love my Argo. Just curious why you went with the 850 cc over at 950 cc ? Great video. Thx.
Awesome!! Yeah Jeff Alaska Bush Tracks is a real good friend of mine. I swear by these tracks and leave them on all my Argo’s year round. There is nothing better than these tracks! If your impessed now wait until the spring. The Argo will perform way better than the Sherp in the muskeg. It will feel like your driving on pillows on the muskeg. You will need mud flaps for sure thow. I don't know if Jeff told you that or not.
Man I can not wait until Spring!! I love your guys videos!
I'd love to see deep six with a set of these on the rear and the apache tracks on the front.
Love your content!!! May I ask what price you had to pay for these awesome tracks? Thank you in advance ☺
Looked at the same setup, I thought it would be good at the lake. Do you want to bring it to Cochin and we will see if it can move the ice fishing shack? 27 foot bumper pull trailer.
Tracks for sure is a huge upgrade but they don't work as well in the water we found out lol Happy Holidays 🤘🏽
these tracks have swim paddles👍
Love the tracks. I hear they make a set for the Defender 6X6. Was wondering if you knew what the cost on those would be? And do you have some for your Defender?
Yo this Aurora is badass! I Wish it had taller tires tho.
love the channel, could you do a tour of all your current atvs.
Thank you! You bet❤️
Great video 👍👍
Thank you 👍
Wow impressive with tracks! The steel bars will damage your concrete floor. FYI: ODG was founded in 1962 by the Stieber family, ODG Limited operates from 2 facilities, with a total of 140,000 sq ft manufacturing in New Hamburg, Ontario Canada
They are not steel, composite
Argo prices themselves out of the SxS market. For less money you can have a Can AM Defender HD10, full cab with heat, suspension and a set of Apache 360 LT tracks for winter. Only thing it doesn't float 😄
I agree. If you need to cross deep water argo is your machine. Everything else I would choose a sxs or atv everytime
A second Sherp on the way!? The black one by Argo
I have standard Argo tracks with ice cleats but with the snow drifts on our driveway we have to traverse a slope and it’s easy to slide sideways. Even turning it’s easy to have the whole Argo go sideways. That or have the tracks pop off. How do these compare?
Just got one n have buyers remorse gets stuck alot in 5" of sno...dealer didn't warn me n can't afford tracks Wish you showed the install bud. Wonder if it still floats?? N dang u got the argo sherp too! Wish I had ur life
I've got a 2008 argo 8x8 and a 2014 argo 8x8. Without tracks their not bad but with tracks they are unstoppable. I've got the big wide tracks on them and they barely sink in snow. Can't go in water anymore though cause they are too heavy.
No water w tracks? Can u osta?
the argo tires are direction. but is that the way they normally face of do you have to do that for the tracks>
They use to make and maybe still do make tracks by the name of escargo tracks had Steele bars.probably better bite then the flat plastic ones.
We have owned Argos for years. Love them, but I was cringing at the beginning waiting for something to break lol. They work well but they are high maintenance.
We're here to test their strengths and weaknesses. Plus they say the new ones are built fairly stout so we will see
@@ostacruiser yeah we had a 2010 up until this year with upgraded axels and chains and then now we have a 2019. Two biggest downfalls are breaking axels from driving over logs/stumps/rocks, and trying to get back ontop of ice after you fall in. I'm interested to see how the Alaskan tracks work. We have the Argo rubber tracks.
Nice great video yall
Thanks brother!
Way bigger difference between tires vs tracks. Tks for the video.
Merry Christmas 🎅 🎄.
Thank you!!
If Argo would have kept up with the times these things would have been like mini ripsaws by now😂 that would be sick 200hp and full set of tracks and bogeys and big suspension!
Haha wouldn't that be awesome
Aura 850 start at 30 000$ here in Ontario, bigger engine, suspension gonna make Argo cost too much, like 60 000$…
awesome! its a little tank now, did you notice an obvious decrease in power with the tracks?
Maybe a touch in speed. But feels like it can still rip through what it needs to
It's-tzaa'.... Very nice
You’ve got BARRELS OF MONEY 💰
Bought a 8x8 with tracks and ice cleats. Bought it so i could access my land on top of the bluff. Had a good bluff road to travel. I used my Ranger EV with chains until the snow got to deep. The Argo was totally worthless going up the bluff road in the snow. I could make it much farther with the EV with chains. Probably ok on the level but worthless on a hill. Thankfully the dealer was a great guy and resold it for me with out me taking a big hit.
what kind of tracks were you running on an argo l that didn’t work as well as a ranger with chains?
@@littlesusitna1 Was a long time ago so don't remember specifics on the track other than it was the widest that would fit. My setup was supposed to be the best for deep snow. I also had ice cleats installed on the tracks. I was so pumped when I got it as it was all decked out with every option. Was the most disappointing big purchase I ever made.
@@dcranch4820 sounds like you had the argo brand 18” wide supertracks (plastic pads) or 18” rubber flat track factory option. Hills are tough unless you have more width and more vertical lug surface area and use slow track speed. Same reason some tracks work in the bottomless mud/muskeg and water, while others do not
