  • Tykee is our starting slot corner that can backup Winfield

    • He's not really a slot corner. He's a safety. He doesn't have the feet to play corner. He's gonna play that sort of quasi-linebacker position that Mike Edwards used to play.

  • McCollum improved a lot from his rookie year. If he cannot turn his F head and track the ball from the QB, he is worthless to us. He missed easy interceptions which went for big plays and touchdowns because he had no idea where the ball was at. He was watching the receivers hands. Koolaid McKinstry and Cooper DeJean are both coming into the league with good technique and follows the flight of the ball. Although Koolaid did not improve at all from his really good freshmen year. Cooper will catch any ball that he has access to.

    • Agreed with you on being nervous about McCollum. He got his hands on balls (I know..) in college he said! Now he needs to step it up in the NFL & do the same. He definitely has the athleticism to do whatever he wants, but we'll see if he has the hands

Every team has a weak link but how strong can the weakest link be!? That will ultimately determine ur success… and to wrap it up you’ll never truly know until it happens.. have faith and trust in the organization!

  • Character is a main factor for Licht and Bowles. If you hear the players speak, they all sound similar. All these teams with players getting into trouble seems not be a issue with the Bucs. There are tradeoffs. You do not always get the best guy at the position. Bucky needs to block but so does Cade Otton. I consider him the worse blocking tight end in all of the NFL. Cade cannot even distract the one guy he suppose to hit. So many times the person Cade is suppose to distract blew up the play. Klein & Culp practice squad at best. What you expect in rounds 6 & 7. JPJ seems to have character issues as goes the rumors.

    @kennethgolden5539@kennethgolden553926 күн бұрын
    • No way am I writing off Klein yet! Not with how bad our IOL has been. Barton at C, move Mauch to LG (He played LT in college so maybe he'll be better on the left..?), then Klein at RG is just one of many possibilities. As far as Culp I think he blocked better than Otton in college at 230lbs. He's fast AF too so don't write him off yet! We also have Payne Durham from last year who looked good & should get better. Not writing off Otton either. He just needs to put it all together in the same season. He's blocked well before, he's caught well before, but he hasn't done both in the same season. Really liked seeing Klein drawing up the plays on the board in an interview. He really knew his stuff, explained the plays so well, and sounded as excited about it all as you'd want a player to sound that's coming to your team.

  • Welcome to Tampa Bay Graham Barton Playing center after not having played center in a couple yours is like riding a bike. Once you fall off you know it hurts. Barton will be fine. Worse case scenario is he plays OG this year or backs up whomever our center is. Hainsey will be better suited for OG. Chris Braswell Sounds like he will be rotational with JTS and Randy Gregory. Bucs had 48 sacks last year which was a great number but only had 84 QB hits which is down nearly 40 hits from 2022. Tykee Smith Seems like a solid player who can compete at nickel. Would rather have had TJ Tampa. Jalen McMillan Going to compete with Trey Palmer, Devin Tompkins and Rakim Jarrett. Bucky Irving (The Winter Running Back) Reminds me of Warrick Dunn or Darren Sproles. He should be a good receiver out of the backfield. He will be a change of pace for Chaad. Elijah Klein He is a guy that didn't get a lot of attention from scouts and media. He grades out good from his collegiate career. He will face tougher opponents so he may be a year off. Devin Culp Possesses raw athletic ability but stats don't show it. Need to know i anyone knows how Washington uses their tight ends. He may have trouble as in line blocker. Overall solid draft. Will root for every player drafted. LFG GO BUCS!

  • Barton is a C or G for sure and will be a great one at that. One of the safest picks in the draft as far as projection. Came in as an 18yo Freshman & played great at C. He is just a mauler. Arms too short for OT, but could fill in for a game or 2. Braswell (My Kindle is correcting it to "Bra swell" which is great) run D will be fine. He had a lot of pressures and a bunch of sacks this year, but Idk if it is 8.5, or 13, (heard both from multiple sources. Thought it was 13?) but it was a good amount for someone who didn't get a lot of time. With time to develop he's gonna be great as a big recruit out of high school too. Tykee Smith is a slot CB most likely, but can be moved around so, yeah, great for Bowles. Love McMillan and Irving on the Bucs. If McMillan plays well though, Godwin is gone bc McMillan is (mostly) a slot, but may play more outside this year which he can also do well so overall a great pick. He was somewhere in the second/third their of WR's after the big 3, then Brian Thomas, IMO Legette, and Worthy only bc Mahomes is throwing it to him though. They got a cpl UDFA w/ speed & lots of TO's in college at DB, which is a nice change from the Stewart, Dean, and Davis days. Irving is going to be really good for the Bucs, his blocking is a concern, but you have to figure Liam Cohen gave this a pass & we hope knows how to scheme him open w/o killing Baker. Klein had some great PFF grades at G I think. Culp is fast and can catch the ball which is what we need at TE. Overall thought it was a really solid draft that fills some needs! Better hope no CB goes down this year though which is why it's a surprise they didn't draft an outside CB to me as well. "You can never have enough CB's" as they say. I do like Bryce Hall, but that's about it as far as outside CB's. Thomas is a Slot CB. So is Smith & a S. Better hope they got some great UDFA's there!

    • They also have Issac from last year udfa that has potential. He has great size and good speed with GOOD HANDS, so that's a plus. I also have a feeling they bring back Dee Delaney for depth since he has familiarity with the system and can play anywhere in the secondary fairly well

  • culp ran the fastest 40 of all TE, I think he was a steal that late in the 7th and if Payne doesnt take a step forward this year, culp could be TE 2, and think this entire class has the potential to make plays for us this season. as for starters penciled in, I think barton, braswell, and mcmillan will be starters day one, and I think we will get some explosive plays from bucky and tykee all year long

  • The Bucs killed this draft; what "kills" me is they give the Saints an A+ and give the Bucs a "gentelman's" A. I maybe need to look at all these other teams drafts a bit closer, but I think the Bucs aced the draft and drafted steals . . . everywhere. Players that are going to be talked about as some of the best of their positions all around. I'm not going to talk about Barton. I don't feel like I need to explain him. Chris Braswell is going to be better than his teammate. Better run defender than Latu. I'm pausing with Verse; but, I'm going to give the edge to . . .Chris Braswell! You're probably going to think I'm nuts; but, I'm putting Braswell up there the top de's in this draft. First of all, people's problem with Braswell is they thought he was slow. He is fast! They clocked this guy at Alabama practice - the radar thing " at over 21 miles an hour. He's got He's strong for his weight. He's functionally strong. He's a tough mean football player. Only Latu's passrush rate is greater than Braswell. But, unlike the Pork Chop Robinson, who just relies on speed(whichBraswell has both short area quickness/acceleration and top end speed!), he uses passrush moves. Not only that, but he has unique traits. He does a funky swivel around an axis move that is unique to him. Some people say he has no bend - maybe. But I see no reason why he can't learn to bend and dip.

    @oker59@oker5926 күн бұрын
    • Tykee Smith is a stronger tougher, higher thump Winfield Jr. The idea that the Bucs could just let Winfield go . . . i'm not going to leave that beyond the realm of possibility. But, my idea was that Tykee Smith was coach Bowles answer to beating the Lions. - Jalen McMillan - I'm putting this guy up there maybe ahead of Harrison Jr. I haven't even checked out Odunze. I've seen the LSU kids; they're athletes; they can catch and run routes. I'm calling Jalen the Cooper Dejean of Wide Receivers. His route running is wicked like Cooper Dejeans kick returning and zone coverage ability. And people are saying he's slow. He's 4.4; he's not "slow." He's solid speed with alien route running ability - all very unique to him. Bucky Irving - the knock on him that I can find, and that I would bring up is his pass blocking. My simple answer is "don't use him that way." Instead of keeping him in to run block, roll him out; if the defender blitzes, pass the ball to the empty space you just sent him out on. Elijah Klein is this years Josh Hayes; the guy none of these draftnicks scouting report has ever heard of. But, there are some actually! And, they note this guy is1) a bulldozer in the run game and 2) had like a 90+ PFF grade, and let like no pressures and sacks last season. I'm not sure about starting him this year - maybe later in the year. I'm tempted to give him a full NFL offseason before starting him. Then again, the Bucs played Cody Mauch all last year when they should have red shirted him(I fully expect Cody Mauch to make the same jump Goedecki did last year) I think Elijah is a total daimond in the ruff; a totally obscure player nobody has heard of. Devin Culp is a second or third Te' but, also a receiving Te - with good effort in the run game. He's not a run game bulldozer. But, he sticks and uses effort. But, he's, now, the Bucs speed receiver Te. He makes, both, the easy catches he's suppose to and the hard contested catches. He can help stretch the D.

      @oker59@oker5926 күн бұрын
    • I should say Bucky Irving's positives. He's a start/stop speed guy like Tyreek Hill. He doesn't have the top end speed; but, he is a guy that gets up to speed from th start. He's agile. He's tough; he's not big; but, he's tough for his size. He's got a ridiculous break tackle rate. And, he can catch and run routes.

  • There is no way not to be extremely disappointed with Buccaneer’s 2024 NFL Draft selections. Following a day 1 pick that was underwhelming but at least somewhat safe, Day 2 and Day 3 it was a horror movie that just kept getting worse and worse with every pick. It was clear to anybody who studied this draft that Premium talent was condensed to fill picks 1-19 and after that, the best value in this draft would be between early 3rd round till mid 4th round. With that being said, we were in a good position to have a very good draft because we had 2 x third round pick and because we had many needs, we had more flexibility to move down and get more picks on the way. We could have traded down on 1st round, earned a third rounder or early fourth and still come out with a day 1 starter: Newton, Koolaid, Cooper DeJean, JPJ. But for the sake of going to what we did worse, I will say that taking Barton and losing the opportunity of getting another pick is okay. As we waited for pick 57 to be called, we could have moved up to try to get JPJ or Cooper DeJean( Not my favorite idea but still far better than what we ended up doing) When we finally reached pick 57, it was clear to me that the best move was to trade down ( preferably to the early 70s) to acquire another important pick and we would still have great options on the table. Assuming that we did not have any other team trying to trade up ( theory that I don’t believe for a second), there were several players that we could have drafted that would be far more impactful and would be able to help us from day 1. I will start the list with Javon Bullard because of our pick 89. Why on earth would we pass on Javon Bullard to overreach on pick 89 and draft a safety that was estimated to go late 4th round? Apart from Javon Bullard there was, Jaylen Wright, Blake Corum, Corley, Jermaine Burton, Troy Franklin,Jetavion Sanders, Christian Haynes, Jonah Ellis, Renardo Green, T. J Tampa, Khyree Jackson and Roman Wilson. If picking a safety was part of the plan in this draft, passing on Javon Bullard is a crime against humanity. Is not like we couldn't get other Safeties in the draft later on late 4th to late 5th rounds. Christian Hansey was clearly the best safest choice for pick 57 if trading down was not an option. Why? Because tackle to IOL conversions is not an easy proposition. Yes, you did get it right with Ali Marpet but for 1 conversion that was successful we also had several unsuccessful. Ex: When Quinn Meinerz was left on the Board to try to convert Hainsey that was a mistake. Goedeke conversion to guard did not work and thank god he is holding things up at RT. Cody Mauch conversion to guard has been very difficult and painful( I also don't understand why he was not placed as left guard instead of completely changing his side). Selecting Christian Haynes would be not only a great possible day 1 starter but a good protective hedge in case Barton struggles in the conversion process. Braswell seems like a very low ceiling, rotational DL, and then again we could find that easily on later rounds. The only thing that would steer me from drafting Christian Haynes is if I was planning on drafting McCormick. In that case I would go with best possible receiver specially considering that Godwin is entering his final year and likely we wont have money to resign him. In that case best talent available at WR would be Jermaine Burton or Corley. I would draft Jermaine Burton in that situation because I think he will be an amazing professional if surrounded by good examples and we have that in Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Wirfs and others. Because the odds of McCormick being available at 89 or 92 is quiet high, I would pick Jermaine Burton here betting on his talent, 0 drops in 2023 and 9 contested catches. As we get to pick number 89 there was still several great options on the table looking at team needs and positional value, I would draft Jaylen Wright here so we would have two very strong runners and also so I would have more leverage negotiating Rashad White contract next year.92 - I would pick McCormick By pick 125 My priority would be Mo Kamara, if he was not available my second priority would be Sedrick Van Pran at Center. The way things fell I would have drafted Mo Kamara and I would trade a future pick right after to secure Sedrick Van Pran as well. Quick Recap : 1- Barton, 2-Jermaine Burton, 3- Jaylen Wright 4-McCormick 5- Mo Kamara Extra pick : Sedrick Van Pran. Last two picks: Pick 220: Michael Barret LB Pick 245: Jaylen Harrel EDG I would have Jalen Sundell Tackle, Jalen Green Edge, Josh Wallace CB, Leonard Taylor and Gabe Hall on my speed dial to sign them the minute the draft was over. If picking a Safety was a must, my draft would be the following: 1-Barton 2-Javon Bullard 3- Jaylen Wright 4- McCormick 5- Mo Kamara Extra pick :Sedrick Van Pran 220: Michael Barret 245: Jalen Harrell As you can see this draft is achievable without assuming anything going different than it did. I am 1000% sure that those players will be more valuable and will succeed at a higher rate than the ones selected this week. I really struggle to understand why we miss so many good opportunities in almost every draft. The reason why some teams are successful more often lies on the way they draft. I feel we have been doing a poor job with some exceptions… 2021 was an F 2022 was C minus 2023 was an A quality draft but that is the main issue. Our average needs to be a B plus or A minus. My grade for 2024 draft for every pick is: 26- B+ 57- C minus 89-F 92- C 125-C 220-D 245-F Total Draft Grade is a D

  • I agree the RB pick was bad, should've gotten Edwards from UGA. Other than that I think it was a pretty good draft.
