How to use the internet in your Mercedes-benz 2021-2024
In this video you will learn how to use the internet on your infotainment screen. You will learn how to hotspot your mobile phone to Mercedes-Benz.
If you own a Mercedes with these style screens then you can follow the steps in this video. Other models should be similar to hotspot too.
If you have these style infotainment screens in the video, for your car then this video will be perfect for you. Other models of Mercedes should be similar so please watch the video as it should help you out too.
You will learn how to watch KZhead or Netflix in your car. This feature may not work depending on which country your car is from.
The car in this video is the 2023 GLC but this is also relevant to all other Mercedes-Benz that has the latest generation MBUX NTG7 software.

Thanks for the video! I have a German 2023 GLC 300e and would like to know how to pair a key fob to a profile. If you could make a short vid on that subject that would be awesome:) My wife and I have profiles on our GLC and I constantly have to move the seat back when I open the car to drive. I have my seat setting saved under my profile but I have to reach over to enter my pin (or fingerprint) in order to access my seat's memory settings through my profile. I read in the UK GLC manual that you can pair a key fob to a profile so the GLC can detect who opens the car that way the seat will automatically adjust to my seat position when I open the driver door.
Thanks for the comment. I will be at the dealership again in the next couple months so I will ask about the key feature. You might have an option on the infotainment for “Easy Entry” into the car which may move the seat back and move the steering wheel up. Thanks Dr Saahb for another great video. In many countries where Mercedes Me is not available, is there a way to download apps such as the browser or dashcam? I connected my phone to the newest MBUX system to have internet, but I haven’t been able to download any app 😢
Thanks for the comment. Really appreciate it. I will double check with the dealership but I think the car does updates itself. It does have its own sim card built into the car but I think it is either 2g or 3g which is slow when compared to a 4g sim. So over the air updates sometimes takes times.
Thanks for yours amazing videos, great information. I try to use browser app but unfortunately i didn't find it i app folder in MBUX . I paired correctly my phone & share net on my car using hot spot feature. I don't have access yet of Mercedes me could be the reason ?

I think double check this option is available for you at your local dealership. It could be that the car needs a software update possibly. Let me know how you get on please? Also getting connected to Mercedes Me will be useful for other features.

Thanks for the comment. So on the apps screen you will be able to see what apps are available. I think you can also have a dashcam feature but it depends if it was fitted with that option. In the future, with updates from Mercedes they might introduce more apps too.
Hi and many thanks, great video. I have an A180 from 2019 with MBUX, the latest update from 11.2023 did not install, also in Mercedes Me app it says that vehicle data not available but the service is active (interface to third party). When I connect the MBUX to mobile hotspot it still doesn't work, the web page is not available.
Thanks for the comment. It might be worth when you’re next booked in for a service or MOT at your local Mercedes Dealership to get them to install the update for you. Let me know how you get on please?
Hello. Are you able to adjust the settings to browse outside of Park? This would definitely help the kiddos to watch on a road trip.

Thanks for the video Dr 👍. When i got the Glc and set it up there was an option to use built in vodafone wifi free. So i followed the instructions and it seems to work. Not sure if its a trial or permanent but they have none of my payment details so i presume it must be free, at least for now
Thanks for the comment. Are you from the UK? I believe it is a trial. You should be able to check on your Mercedes Me account portal on the desktop version, how long the trial is. Let me know how you get on?
@@DrSaahb yes im in the uk. I think it is a trial period as well. But it is fairly vague. On the confirmation email it mentions internet data at no extra cost, but in the terms and conditions it talks of a trial period after which it will ask for payment details or suspend the service. But it doesnt mention the duration of the trial period, that i can see at least. Will just have to see how long it lasts i guess lol
Let us know when the Data Package stops please? Also do you find you are using the feature allot more now? Or is it abit of a gimmick for you?
@@DrSaahb i will do 👍. I havent really used it much tbh but its good to have when waiting around. I know there is a usb plug in box u can buy that allows u to get more video apps on car play so its easier to access but this basically does the same thing. Its just a little longer to go through the browser
Yeah I think I would buy the USB plug in box if I chilled in my car. I have got a USB storage device with a couple of kids films on it, so we can watch that if we were in the car for ages and got bored but I think I have only put it on once, for around 10 minutes, while I was parked up waiting to take my daughter to school.
Thanks Dr Saahb! I followed your steps and got through all that, but my problem is the YT videos can’t play. Tried this a few times but to no avail. I also used my home’s WiFi, which came out unsuccessful as well. I tried logging on through Google with my account, but Google said the browser or app is not secure. This might be the issue. Any idea how to get around this? Thanks!

(Playback ID: LFA80GEpkhOf5Cdy) Learn More” The “Learn More” is underlined and appears to be a link, but when I press on the phrase nothing happens. Perhaps not a link. I’ve used my personal hotspot (away from home) and also connected my infotainment to my home WiFi while parked in my garage all to no avail. I’ve tried watching different YT videos with no success. When I sign on to Google, it shows me the following, and I quote: “ Couldn’t sign you in” “ This browser or app may be secure. Learn more“ “ try using a different browser. If you’re already using a supported browser, you can try again to sign in.“ “ Try again“ (in blue button). No success. I have photos of the screen but no way to share that here. There’s gotta be a trick to it. Appreciate your help! Thanks!

Hi Dr. Saahb, I recently purchased a 2021 GLE 350 in the US. I dont see the option to connect my phones hotspot to my mercedes. Could it be that this option isn't available in the US?
Try watching the video on a separate device and then following the instructions. Make sure you are in Park and not driving the car. If the above doesn’t work then go to your local dealership.

I am guessing due to the chip shortage this feature was not fitted to your car.
Hi, why is it not possible to stream other websites such as netflix? I have the exact same model as the one in the video. After loggin into netflix and when pressing play it gives an error :/
Thanks for the comment. I think some people have been struggling to use Netflix on the Mercedes browser. Also some people have not been able to login to their KZhead account in the car. Hopefully they do an update in the future and they fix the above 👆

I have a new 2023 GLC 300 4MATIC & I get the following error message when I try to login to my google account "this browser is not secure." I subscribed to the hotspot & still unable to login. The internet works but the Google browser is outdated. How can this browser be updated.

Fair enough. To be fair using the browser is a nice to have but not needed. You will find it quicker to use your mobile phone browser. Is there any other option that you wish you had?

New GLC doesn’t have a memory card slot. It should only be USBC.

Thanks for the comment. Where are you from? I have had some people message me from other countries and say they are not able to watch videos on their car too. I would suggest getting your car booked in with your local dealership to get a software update which might fix the issue.
