I just got this ending while going spoiler-free in phantom liberty. What an awful, awful ending. It’s even worse than the suicide ending with Johnny. Panam doesnt know me anymore? River turned into a criminal? Judy and Kerry didn’t even care? Johnny is dead? Reed is depressed? Nahhhhh this is the worst ending ever

The original endings are way better than the Phantom Liberty options. Except saving Songbird. I saw someone post "Phantom Liberty is Songbird's story, not V's". I couldn't agree more with that.
The only V in phantom liberty ending is the worst one, i never feel so sad and empthy after playing a videogame

I got the Tower ending. I hated it at first but seeing how V chose to accept death, and really accept it on his own terms. There are really no happy endings in night city.

In all of my playthroughs i used to make my V a badass netrunner/invincible gunner who would kill hundreds of men on his way to achieving the goal without even noticing. I always went with Rogue ending, but also considered the Don't fear the reaper or the Panam ending to be good/better. Now with new DLC out i decided to go the same way, but when i got to the cure part i just decided that V deserves it, that he has to get that chance no matter what. At first i was positive about it, or just interested in how things are gonna work out. But then on the roof, when Johnny asks you not to make the call and try and find other opportunities i started to regret my decision but still wanted to see how it ends. I felt so sorry for Johnny during all of this and their conversation. Then in the hospital when i was told that V can't use his chrome anymore, i began to understand where things were going. When those thugs grabbed V and punched him, i realised how fucked this is. It was then that i knew the answer for DeShawn's question. For me the best ending is definitely the storming of arasaka tower. I just can't watch V being faded away of his dreams about becoming the best merc in NC, what he imo, has achieved in the end.
True, if you Think about what Vs been through (all the gigs, sidemissions and of course the main story) its hurt to see him on the street without anything or anyone. In another ending he managed to kill Smasher (who has a lot of people on his list, big ppl like silverhand or david martinez). Seein him so poor is worse than death imo. He lives but he is not himself anymore. In the other endings hes dying but he is dying as a legend, as someone who raided saka tower

Ended up doing Rogue's ending. Definitely hate that she died and I left Panam behind but I was scared that going with Panam was gonna get her killed. But what really makes me like "fuck I really wish I went with the Panam ending" is the fact that after all of that you go into space just to end it there... It left such a sour taste in my mouth and it kinda hurt a little
I was wondering why no mentioned the Rogue ending, I had to look up wth even happened. I was in denial that I died that way without anyone knowing. Getting all the video messages at the end from people that thought I was alive, especially Rivers inviting me to Randy’s birthday as if I was alive. I’m upset and disappointed.

I just did the Panam ending, and while i feel it’s the “best” for how I played V, I do feel that the whole thing of asking the Aldecaldos to die for you rubs me the wrong fucking way So Don’t Fear the Reaper is probably the best ending. Take out Arasaka without worrying about my friends dying, take the 6 months I have left to live, and headcanon that I leave NC with my love interest and never step foot in that shit hole again except to say hi to Vic, Misty, River and Mama Welles
why do you assume V died in space in that ending? nothing implies that, he's just jetting towards the crystal palace on a mission?

I think the worst ending possible is the new one from phantom liberty. I think the best possible ending is the path of glory. All of V’s aspirations are about being a legend in night city, a dream that their best friend died for. In the new ending all that gets taken away from them and they’re left helpless and forgotten. In the glory ending, they get to fulfill their dreams by taking on the biggest gig ever done before they die.
I call the new ending Dexter's Quiet Life, smelling slightly of urine, ending.
For me it’s going off into the sunset with the Aldecaldos. I gave Jackie a hard time for his idiotic dream of dying in a blaze of glory, and never bought into “I wanna be a legend” It’s stupid, you kill a ton of people, then die, and then people just treat you as a god. It needs to change, you’re just part of a never ending cycle of misery in NC, and leaving with my family is the best possible way out.
V controlling the Blackwall means he has surpassed Blackhand.

Ive learned to respect Reed and his ideals. Hes a true soldier. But that mentality has him shackeled to the NUSA and its whims. Reed is trying to save Songbird, but its the only way he knows how, through the NUSA. Reed isnt the bad guy. But the choice to give Songbird over to the NUSA is the true crime, it is giving Songbird a fate worst than death.

Choom I went with Song but then gave her to reed. I lived but at the cost of everything dear to me. Unable to wield chome, no longer being able to do what defined my female V I found myself alone and powerless. Getting fucked up by some gonks on the street only made it worse. Over all what a fucking sad ending all around and right in the feels...
i just finished this game for the first time last night. female nomad v. did the tower ending & tbh didn’t mind it. many call it sad but i guess it’s all perspective. my nomad v was already used to losing everything & starting over. the bakker family, losing jackie, dying, now this. misty even reminds you how often you were in hopeless situations but managed through them. think that’s kinda with irl too. i’m definitely not the same person i was 2 years ago & i have lost some friendships along the way just due to life taking us in different directions. shit happens but that doesn’t mean it’s the end. People come, people go. It’s like a pro sports player getting an injury & not able to play anymore - doesn’t mean their life is over just means they get to find a new purpose now - you keep going - you LIVE. The tower ending leaves it open & it’s up to you whether it’s a hopeful one for your V or will they just give up when they’re finally free from the life they kept taking about dipping from anyway? (again all depends on how you rp your v). (the aggravating part about it all was all V had to do was call her lovers & friends & say hey i’m getting cured. imma be here in case you don’t hear from me for awhile. please don’t forget about me. think if people knew what was happening they would’ve waited? especially judy.)

Ok guys i must ask. Does V die in every ending (exept PL)? when u connect to MIkoshi Alt turns on soulkiller and V become engram (copy of his consciousness). We talk with Johnny and ALt in Mikoshi. So the real V is dead. And after that, Engram of V can go back to his body. But it isnt real V, its just his copy of digitalized consciousness, that controls his body with biochip

Nobody who wants to be someone survives night city, that's what the game is trying to tell you. The only ending where you survive, is the one where you go back at being a mr.nobody with no reputation nor friends. Die as a legend.
There are theories that Mr. Blue Eyes has a cure. He's also the one who is supposedly helping Song. If you are paying EXTREMELY close attention, you can see him standing on the high platform as V and So Mi get moving in the train after clearing the station - it's barely two seconds long and there is debris splitting your view for half of that but he's up there, hands crossed, looking down. Creepy as hell when I noticed it. Anyway, if you get the final heist, it's for Mr. Blue Eyes and it's heavily implied it may be for a cure. But it is all conjecture, we truly never find out.

I did 2 endings and the one I liked most was all along the watchtower.
So weird, first time i played i choose the path of glory and at the end after Judy breaking up with me and i get in the flying Delamain Taxi thing, as soon as i stepped in the Taxi i flatlined and that was that. Never got that ending to work... Then i choose the Panam ending and left with her and Judy, maybe my game REALLY wanted me to have that ending instead lol (which id say after watching all the endings is the best one).
ridiculous bug where you had to open the map before takeoff. maybe it doesn't populate the map, treats you like you went out of bounds? either way hilarious last little send off from CDPR lol

I gotta say that I hate that whether you leave or stay in Night City is determined by whom you choose to go with in the final mission. It feels like it should be a seperate choice. My V was completely not interested in being "Afterlife legend" yet somehow ends up breaking things off with Judy and running the club just because I chose to call Rogue in the end. I only did that because it made the most sense from a tactical standpoint. Ultimately I was very disappointed with the ending I got because it didn't match my V. My V would have left with Nomads.
Panams path with Male V is the best one. Most satisfying one especially as my first playthrough. The DLCs new ending SUCKED BALLS.

The new ending is sad as fuck man. Panam even forgets about you, everything is changed, and you can't even defend yourself anymore. Not to mention you sont even get messages from the people you helped in the ending credits cause they all forgot about you cause you been in coma that the last 2 years

Losing Panam in PL Cure Ending seemed unnecessary, preventable, and reconcilable. Which is why I believe something else must have happened to her. Maybe she died or got arrested or was even killed by Mitch himself or betrayal amongst the group. Anyone one of those sounds more plausible. But all that "she's gone, don't call back" sounded like some BS.
It would make sense for someone who had to go through losing someone they're incredibly close with because that said someone chose a selfish path. No wonder she doesn't want to talk to the guy that broke her heart coma or not
I completed the game with "where's my mind without signing" ending and hope there will be cyberpunk part 2 where ppl are fighting to destroy that technology :)

I always wanted an ending where V gives up his body or they manage some form of synthesis (me coping) but the main thing i wanted was for Johnny to come back and destroy ALL the corporations for good. Giving up V's body feels pointless when johnny just decides to live an easy life instead of the blaze of glory he constantly talked about the whole game. these writers man.
They decide to give a good message in every ending, something that will stick to you, to hace meaning in your life, i really like them

its funny bcs i have 3 saved game with 3 different lifepath & ending : Nomad - All Along the Watchtower, my female V going with Panam & Judy together Streetkid - Path of Glory, V become the Legend of Nightcity Corpo - Where is my Mind signed contract, basically become Corpo slave (plus that damn rubix jumpscare) but ngl, the secret ending Dont Fear the Reaper and then choosing New Dawn Fades is my fav in my opinion bcs you're giving Johnny 2nd chance eventho V is dead, and that scene Johnny giving back the bullet pendant to V's grave is so damn emotional for me 😭 as for the Phantom Liberty ending~ im so sorry Reed but im choosing side with Songbird and help her to the moon eventho she is betraying us but i understand her position since Songbird and V are having same "problem" its like V seeing herself through Songbird and Alex still alive... bcs i dont wanna going back to "Alien Isolation" moment again!!!! 😰

Ok but if I had a nickel for every time an edgerunner wearing David’s jacket while fighting their ass off to put a netrunner girl into space I’d have two nickels, but it’s weird that it happened twice. In all seriousness, wearing David’s jacket during the mission for Songbird in the orbital station fits so well, and it’s great to see it in the game.

I know that majority disagrees with this opinion, but I think the new ending with V surviving is one of the best ones. Don’t get me wrong, going all out guns blazing is also epic, V started off with a goal to be in the major leagues and if anything, go down fighting. Buuuuut, as the story progresses, the main objective was to survive and get the chip out of the head. Losing friends, relationships and Johnny’s “life” was the price V had to pay. It hit hard, but V finally got what they wanted - to save their own life and get the chip out.

At least V didn’t die in the new ending. And frankly I’m okay with that. It’s a lot better that the repetitive, copy & paste “you’re always gonna die” of the other endings. Now those fanbrats who always seek out anyone who expresses their grief over the endings of 2077 & Edge Runners & say “Cyberpunk’s not supposed to have happy endings, what did you expect?” act a lot like the Agents from The Matrix franchise. Their “know it all” attitude about the entire Cyberpunk franchise is very similar to how the Agents guard all the doors & hold all the keys in the system. And how they suddenly reply to anyone mourning about V’s fate or David Martinez is very much how an Agent possesses a nearby person. And many of those fanbrats chant that “no one should survive,” & ignore that V lives in this ending, or how River’s cousin Randy survived his gruesome ordeal. They just chant endlessly “no happy endings.” These fanbrats dodge their own errors jist like how an Agent dodges bullets. And how they always call you “butthurt” for disagreeing with them & try to put words in your mouth is parallel to how the agents sealed up Thomas Anderson’s mouth.

I actually really like the ending where V gets cured the only thing that doesn’t make sense is the reactions from your “friends”. They make it seem like 20 years pass instead of just 2 with how everyone treats you. Don’t even get me started with Panam, hated her after that ending. You’d expect her to understand that it wasn’t V’s fault nor intention to go into a coma for two years. Even if, she got into another relationship during that time which is completely understandable the least you can do is answer, after all curing my V and living the rest of my days as an ordinary Nomad was my goal but yeah CD clearly don’t want happy endings for this title. I imagine my V living on in NC, drowning his sorrows in the afterlife. Sharing war stories with Rogue and becoming her apprentice as a Fixer and eventually taking over as Boss. It’s like they wrote it so that everything he did prior to that surgery was meaningless in NC. Which isn’t the case at all, cyberware or not V will always be a legend of NC to me. I do regret killing Johnny but to be fair he’s already a dead man. Every second extra he gets to experience life through V is a privilege not many get after passing. Finally I settled with the king of wands ending. Back to base 1, my netrunner V sympathies with So Mi’s cause and helps her regardless of getting a cure for myself or not. Being able to help someone in my position is poetic. And, perhaps that good karma could one day finally rid V of the relic. Not content with killing Reed, wish I could’ve spared him. He was a fine agent. My only hope is that So Mi learns from her mistakes and takes this second chance as a luxury, seeking to fulfill her promise to V someday if its not too late. Having access to Blackwall daemons was insane, wish there was a mode for that you unlock via tapping into her as a proxy with negative side effects like HP loss on use or something. Overall, I still think the best ending for V is the one where he is cured and either stays at the FIA firm and has a career there or returns to NC to do whatever he wishes. A lot of people owe him favors for all those gigs he did in the past, time to make some calls V and remind them who’s back.
