  • I'm an American, watching this interview in America as I sip my coffee. When Piers said Taylor Swift is bigger than The Beatles, I somehow did a spit take of tea and shouted "bloody hell" in a British accent. That's how offensive that comment was.

    • Yeah.. she got nothing on the Beatles. Honestly I've never heard not 1 of her songs.. I only know what she looks like because she's EVERYWHERE being used as a woke trope, trying to brainwash young easily manipulated minds. It's fkn ridiculous how deceived people are

    • I've heard lots of Taylor Swift songs that I didn't know were Taylor Swift until recently. She is a prolific songwriter; she produces something that people enjoy. Her song, "Wildest Dreams" is a beautiful song with a distinctive melody and gorgeous harmonies that has been covered by others. She may not be The Beatles, but, "Hey Jude" was repetitive & not even musically interesting. Not every Beatles hit was of the same calibre as "Norwegian Wood" or "Something". They became famous because of teen girls screaming at their concerts, not because of old hippies remembering them. Their music has staying power, but when was the last time you heard them on the radio, even on an oldies station? It's too early to tell what legacy Swift will have. So you are comparing 2 musical talents at different times in their career trajectory.

  • 1. Both Beatles & Phil Collins/Genesis started in the 60’s, when Earth population were over 3 billion (raising roughly by 80 million every year), now there are over 8 billion. 2. Selling records were much different in the past, you had to actually buy it from a local store, if there were any, or travel to nearest town, now a 10 year old can buy Taylor Swift album from their home in 30 seconds 3. Usually you had to see a flyer in your town, or hear it in the radio, so you would know about the concert, now with internet, you have instant access to information from all around the world, even to the point, that its “fed” to you on social media. 4. Even after 60 years, both Beatles & Phil Collins are still relevant, people are still listening to their songs, (because it has depth and are timeless) and majority of population across all generations still know, who they are.. I dont know a single song from her, and I highly doubt, that most of the population, that are not in their teenage years could name any of her song also, and definitely not 50 years from now..

With Germany's surrender, Japan knew that they would get the US's *entire* attention... as well as the UK's, and more of the Aussies' and Kiwis', too. Even without the Soviets, they were about to get hit with a hammer that was (about) 6-8 times bigger. In the case of Japan, the Soviet Union was really just the proverbial straw. You need a few years of marriage to find out what your spouse will be like and you can live with them, so there are pitfalls not spending that time.

  • Whether you side with Tate or Walsh, I think they would both agree the insatiable hunger of capitalism converted the original feminist movement and mutated it into a global economic market nearly comparable to crude oil, simply by preying on female insecurity. Now women claim they don’t need men, but numbers show drastically lower military recruitment, lower police recruitment creating a horizon for truly difficult times. Technology in all its splendor has made society soft and the strangers we have allowed into our home, come from quite the opposite of circumstances. For every society man has created, there’s been men there to defend it, and duty as incentive has fallen by wayside.

    • Feminism, and uncontrolled immigration, lowered a man's ability to support a family... not "capitalism", as such. Capitalism doesn't create "supply and demand". People *are* both. From there, you just get what might as well be a fundamental law of the universe. If it's abundant, it's cheap. Even if you're a cow munching on grass... if it's abundant, all you have to do is take one step to get the next mouthful.

They had planned for all of their citizens to fight to the death during the upcoming invasion of Japan. The land invasion of mainland Japan would have been a blood-bath the likes the world has never seen. Ironically, General Douglass MacArthur didn't want to drop the bomb because he wanted to lead that land invasion. He feels he was robbed of his place in history even though it would have been as the results of hundreds of thousands of American lives and millions of Japanese lives. What many people don't know is EVEN after the two A-bombs were dropped on Japan, most of the military leaders did not want to surrender. I believe the Emperor finally stepped in. You should really research WWII. The incendiary bombs that were being dropped on Japan were killing more than the A-Bombs. • I don't criticize Taylor Swift, but from a woman's perspective who's had children. If she had kids, her life experiences would have expanded a lot. Motherhood necessitates change. She's going to keep on singing about failed relationships until she settles and marries... but it would seem that that is not her goal in life. Definitely not the traditional example that I've taught my daughter! In that sense, I can't say I see her as a healthy example for young women. Her success is fenominal, but motherhood is another level of awesome! Perhaps it's not everyone's goal, but definitely a HUGE contributing factor the the low birthrate worldwide! People are having kids late or staying childless. I agree with the concept of consecutive polygamy and it's heartbreaking. Look, a newspaper here in South-Africa reported that some psychologists in SA said "Taylor Swift is van die duiwel." Taylor Swift is of the devil. I laughed quite a bit, but it probably refers to the witch likes act on her live performance. A Economist in SA suggested, Swift do a tour in SA to help boost our economy. Others have different opinions. Only in South-Africa! I'm not a huge fan of hers, to be honest, neither of the Beatles, because they compared themselves to the popularity of Jesus Christ in a very disrespectful way. They have Alester Crowley as their friend and hero in their references and from a Christian perspective, it does not sit quite right with me. Swifts songs were cute when she sang love story, thereafter like many musicians, they go darker and darker.... it's a huge NO thank you for me! If Taylor has kids, that would be great. This idea that woman work till 40 then begin a family is just quite unrealistic. You still need the strength to be an active part in their education, sport, development etc... I knew both my grandmothers and for a woman it's essential to understand where she comes from. Both were the most amazing, salt of the earth kind of ladies and I say ladies because they were just that, classy and feminine. It's a part of my growing up that made me the person I am today. My kids know their grandparents and it's a wonderful privilege. I'm not encouraging my kids to get married to young, because the economy is rough! But don't waste your youth either.

  • Some relevant points to consider about the atomic bombing of Hiroshima & Nagasaki in which about 200,000 people were killed or died in the aftermath: 1. The 5 miilion man Japanese military killed about 10 million people and incarcerated & tortured & raped countless others in southeast Asia, which they had subjugated since the 1930s, including Japanese Buddhists & Shinto practitioners, Manchuria, Korea, China, Burma, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Philipines, Indonesia, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, New Guinea.... 2. Before the bombing, Japan rejected surrender terms of the US, and refused to surrender even after the first bomb, and ordered the people to fight to the death and die for Emperor Hirohito (like Kamakazi) when the invasion would come, even if it caused total destruction of the Japanese people. 3. Like Germany, Japan was working on developing an atom bomb and no one knew how close they were to succeeding. 4. The US Army Air Corps dropped tens of thousands of leaflets over Japan warning of the coming bombing for two weeks prior. 5. Nagasaki was the base of their navy, the Mitsubishi Steel and Arms Works, the Akunoura Engine Works, Mitsubishi Arms Plant, Mitsubishi Electric Shipyards, Mitsubishi Steel and Arms Works, Mitsubishi-Urakami Ordnance Works. 6. The US replaced Japan's fascist race supremacist Bushido militarist rule, gave it a democratic government, magnanimously allowed them to keep their Emperor, saved and fed and rebuilt Japan. I'm not 'justifying' the decision to use atomic bombs, just presenting the factual historical circumstances.

They knew the Japanese civilians were dragged into the conflict and the Japanese were very cruel towards them.. if they didn’t fight they were ordered to kill them.. civilians were terrified and so were the Japanese army because of the rhetoric being told.. they were ordered to kill themselves if captured.. because of the lies told.. • @@user-ke8st8jc1v There's reports that they might not have actually learned their lesson a second time, and only the combination of the knowledge that the US was developing a third along with the USSR coming down and breathing on their necks did they finally "give up", not learn their lesson which is a distinction I must highlight. Even then, after the war there were a lot of people severely pissed off that they gave up. Only years and years of education to their public of what they did led to them finally learning their lesson. People love to look back with today's knowledge and criticize yesterday's knowledge instead of learning from it, and wonder why we keep having repeats in history.

  • The only real issue I have with Taylor Swift is that her relationship history is a HORRIBLE example for girls. I remember Charles Barkley saying "I am not a role model", but the problem with that is you don't get to choose if you are a role model or not. He didn't and neither does she. The fact Taylor Switft has a list of failed relationships as long as your arm really concerns me when it comes to just how much girls look up to and idealize her. If Taylor Swift can have slept with 40 or 50 men and never marry, then girls don't see why they can't either and that is a problem.

The way that you understood and approached what Andrew said, further proves his point because you're going at it from the standpoint of being the same as a woman (that women would then have several husbands at once) and from the idea that men who have several wives, are not around to raise their children. Matt, have you ever thought that it's possible for a man to have several wives, yet have them living on the same property?
