  • Strange looking rocket. I admire the pragmatic take India has. Because of their smaller engines, they took a few more Earth orbits to slingshot to Mars than NASA, but they accomplish the same goal. I think it's really cool the world involvement in space. So many arduino tutorials I taken online were by Indian engineers.

    @2150dalek@2150dalekАй бұрын
    • It's not India can't build bigger engines, it's not economical for us now .

      @jayasree6722@jayasree6722Ай бұрын
    • slingshot only works to divert angle without expending fuel. otherwise, you still have to overcome the same gravity.

      @up4open763@up4open763Ай бұрын
    • Correct reason for less stronger Indian rockets: The engines are not small they are average or above average as a matter of facts ISRO is currently working on even stronger SCE-200 engine and 2 more much powerful engines. The reason why India's most powerful rocket LVM-3 can lift only 10tons to LEO is that until now ISRO has never felt the need to build larger rockets, all domestic demands can be fulfilled with LVM-3 until some time ago but now as Indian space program is getting more and more mature need for more powerful rockets has risen and hence stronger Indian rockets are a thing of near future but not present.

      @user-rf8zp8nb8m@user-rf8zp8nb8mАй бұрын
    • 0:51 if you are referring to this peculiar-looking rocket. Then, just to be clear, it is a technology demonstrator for the crew module's high altitude abort test. Using the L40 second stage of GSLV, ISRO tested the crew module on 21 October 2023. The launcher that will be used for the actual flight is LVM3, previously called GSLV Mark 3.

      @sumandutta4834@sumandutta4834Ай бұрын
    • @@user-rf8zp8nb8m Wrong on several counts. ISRO has been trying to build more powerful rockets for a long while. And reality is that we couldn't. We still rely on foreign launchers for our I-6K bus satellites, for example. NGLV will change all that and make us totally self-sufficient in space launches for the first time in history. Also, SCE-200 is the most powerful engine ISRO is currently working on. The LM-110 is not as powerful (its in the name, 200 ton thrust force vs 110 ton). That one 3 MN Full Flow Staged Combustion engine that was showcased in a recent presentation is not a proper program right now, they are just carrying out a feasibility study, possibly to create a Starship-Superheavy class rocket after NGLV.

      @abhilash9918@abhilash9918Ай бұрын
    • This world is moving fast, a decade definitely 2 and starship/spacex dominance and affordability would make it so that most other programs are obsolete. Most countries including India would probably just buy starships and get trained on how to use them. Or buy seats on the flights. A decade or 2 and they’ll be in the category of most countries.. way waaaaayyy behind spacex.

      @eg300@eg300Ай бұрын
    • @@eg300 Quite wrong actually. Try stepping out of the realm of SpaceX fanbois club and spaceflight fanbois club in general and try to enter some geopolitics fanboi clubs. It is readily apparent that India is NEVER going to ditch its own space program and become a Starship client state. ISRO's NGLV is a Falcon-9 analogue with methalox instead of kerlox engines and is readying for a first flight in this decade. And ISRO is already conducting preliminary studies on a Starship class rocket for beyond 2040. If you have even a modest background in Indian foreign policy and strategic culture, you'll realize very fast how little your definition of the word "obsolete" means nothing to India.

One small correction: the astronauts are gettinng their masters from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore rather than Indian Institute of Technology which is also famous as IIT. Actually, there is no IIT in bangalore. While IISc is the No.1 research institute in India with significant weightage when it comes to aerospace research worldwide. They are actually part of a special program and are not crediting the usual mandatory courses at IISc for completing their masters. Mostly related to basics of astrodynamics, orbital mechanics and rocket propulsion.

Then senator, joe biden saif it could be a dangerous move. On the other hand they kept supporting a military dictatorship called pakistan. ISRO itself had to develop a cryogenic engine indigenously that took around 15 years. Though Us provided cryogenic tech to japan and Israel, though they get bigger space budgets, still ISRO is more advanced in terms of space exploration.
