Our stone house renovation project in Portugal starts to take shape, with the moving of some pretty big old stones on our property we're seeing real progress. Tara gets into the greenhouse with the boys and plants some chickpeas which we're pretty excited about!

    • In my opinion which counts for little, I think these games are the worst, in app purchase is designed to get the people who can't be strong to part with their money, it's a form of gambling with a slightly higher dopamine hit than straight up gambling. As far as advertising goes it's on a par with tobacco in my view. I really love your channel and understand you need sponsors and revenue but somethings are just not worth your soul. Imagine when the boys are older and you find them hooked on one of these phone apps that steals all their time playing something that just isn't real.

    • @@andypayne1571 I think you have some true observation there. I am too stingy to pay any money to advance any game! Hence my progress is limited and slow!! I like free games. Eg canasta, solitaire, a version of scrabble etc

Tara, how you interact with your boys is beyond lovely. They will each absorb your sweetness and kindness and become wonderful men. John, your vision, imagination and sheer determination is thrilling. You, also, model a nurturing attitude that will enrich your boys beyond measure. Thank you both, so very much, for sharing your lives with me.❤🌈🤩

    • Hi Crusoe and Sawyer, well done boys for helping mummy in the greenhouse. Sawyer your getting so big and made me laugh when you were making mummy wear the plant pot as a hat. So sweet....lol John, Tara keep up the good work I feel like we've blinked and Sawyer has gone from a bump to running around and attempting to talk and help with everything the way his big brother does. Where did that time go! So much change in the farm and your wee family. Love watching you all achieve your goals. Big hugs. XxK

  • Love your video. Gardener here. Don’t return those little pots….you can use them to reproduce plants from taking cuttings of plants you like. Multiplying plants is quite simple without having to pay for more. You’ll just need to buy rooting powder hormone and watch a few KZhead videos to see how it’s done. 😊

I just love John's ability to figure out how to DIY complicated projects and Tara's willing assistance and confidence in it all! And those boys!! Already quite independent and showing so much understanding and intelligence! Watching your family's adventures on your homestead is a true delight. Thank you!

  • Good glorious Sunday morning Tara, John, Crusoe and Sawyer. You are blooming everywhere and here we just had another snow fall, well the reality of living apart. Please, John and Tara watch your backs, especially John lifting those heavy stones, I had an accident at work lifting a heavy object many years ago, it damaged by back with 2 herniated disks with arthritis now. Please, be careful in all you do. Delaying time to do it with help it will be safe for you all. Those little boys of yours bring so much 😅 and 😊seeing their mouths tasting the earth in the greenhouse. I cannot stop Tara seeing you with your little boys at the analogy of a mother hen with her chicks playing around her. Brings so much memories. All is well with the Newby family. Rejoicing I seeing you are well and blooming. Cheers💖💖💖🥰🥰🥰🌹🌺🦋🙏🙏🙏👱👶🌄🏡🇵🇹

  • I love the symmetry that the three large blocks give your patio wall. They looked to me like just some large random blocks. Just shows what an eye for architectural design John has. I'm sure Tara would rather be in her beautiful greenhouse but had to admire the way she was literally pulverizing the cement blocks! A little comic relief regarding those "free range" hens. Still, worth the occasional inconvenience. As always, fun watching Sawyer catch up with Crusoe. They're so cute together!

If I recall, the ancient Egyptians and other ancient cultures had help with their masonry work via their friends beyond the stars! 👽 Really appreciate your building skills and problem-solving and I'm learning a great deal, like Tara, I guess, about how to use power tools and manipulate materials for the best result. Tara, congratulations on being such a patient and loving mum for those two 'constantly' switched on boys. I am amazed at what you achieve. Chickpeas here in Australia are planted in 100's of acres fields - I guess we just love hummus that much!

  • John, if you think free range chickens are bad for crapping all over, then you definitely do not want free range geese! LOL I like that your builds are not only useful but also aesthetically pleasing to look at. Smart reuse of building materials in your projects. Tara, you can sink a smaller pot into the soil where the strawberry plants sends out runners so that a new plant takes root in it and then you can lift the new plant for relocation. Place a small rock on the runner so that the wind doesn't blow it about. Love the music today! S.

  • Loving watching the extension build, it's coming on in leaps and bounds. It's so funny watching your organic process to building and creating and getting inspired as you go along, John, because I watch another channel where the guy is building a modern cabin (more like mahoosive house) where he's such a perfectionist and has detailed plans he works to and is so precise, even hoovering up sawdust as he goes along. It always makes me chuckle when I think how horrified he would be over your methods and how annoyed and frustrated you'd be with his. Obviously, both are valid, but it's so funny to watch the contrast as an observer.

  • Hi Tara, John, Crusoe and Sawyer it's good to see the extension coming up quickly. With all hands on deck you will have it done in no time. Maybe when John finishes it he can build an extension onto the green house as it is a bit over crowded when Crusoe and Sawyer is in there helping you. Your plants are coming along nicely. Cheers until next time.

  • To keep trees heathy and growing nice you should go through and trim some branches, limb up some trees to let in more light and see the views beside the skinny one your taking out. You will still get shading but more airy, also the one behind you @20:00 the branch with a downward growth needs cutting off, would also open the view.

  • Good on you John. Love watching the cement work and the building with wood projects. It motivates me to finish my Renovation Project here in Upstate New York so when I close on my Portugal Property I can be fully sold up and done. So thank you. Watching you work helps me move onto my next step. KZhead is when I am eating my late breakfast. Tara you have the patience of a saint. I was a single mum and had to work from home on my b and b while raising my son. He's now going to be 24 and lives in Alaska where he was born and moving to Porto after I move to Portugal in the country on the land i am buying. But watching you two have roles and me having to do it all and find dependable people to help me and to begin again sounds daunting but I know I will do it and do it with happiness, grace and hoping for more patience. THANK YOU my friends. Gina in Upstate New York moving to Portugal

They are our precious blessings; children and yours are learning so many valuable lessons. They grow so fast. John, I was really concerned about your shoulder and back with those heavy stones, and I hope you didn't hurt yourself. You are doing an amazing job. Really, the both of you are beautifying that place, making it your own little piece of heaven. I am enjoying this journey. Keep well. Lots of love to you all.❤

  • Both of you have such imaginations and think of things I would never dream of and I love that in you both. Just amazing! I had toddlers closer a bit than the boys and they liked to help as well........lol ............always when I had a plan to accomplish and it usually took twice of long of course but then those treasured times will never be forgotten.........at the time however I did get a bit frustrated. In the long haul of it all, I did accomplish when I desired to do and yes, it was always something for the family. Now those babies are 55+56 and come and help us with things once in awhile when needed as we are now 77 years old......still doing a lot but not near as much as when we were young as you are. Enjoy the moments and sooner or later it does get accomplished, and we are all the happier for those memories!' Blessings and I cannot wait to see what the larger tree will be and I am thinking it might be in the middle of the round about? 😊
