I love the way Gordon can go from 100 to 0 in an instant when speaking to the camera crew, waitresses, customers, etc. He has great control of his anger.
Could be the show being staged. It’s very easy to do this with reality shows.
@@spikemurphy5054It's a combination of both. The show actually greatly exaggerates Gordon's anger but it's been shown in the British version of the shows he does that he's actually way more chill. They only air his angry clips because that's what gets them views, and that's what he's famous for. Gordon himself is actually very kind for taking time out of his life for helping these businesses. The reason the show was cancelled was because Gordon hit his breaking point after a particularly selfish owner, and he felt it wasn't helping any businesses after all, and for that I sympathize for him.
The success mostly lasted for around a year. Then Rico decided to part ways with Abby and sell the Downcity to recover his lost finances of over a million dollars. They went their separate ways, and Abby became a Personal Trainer for a time, before moving on to manage an interior decorating company. Rico now runs the Mortgage and Finance business he worked for.
Glad Rico made it.

This show has proven to me that stress really impacts someones attitude and personality. The person will think they're being "normal" and that the stress isnt affecting the way they treat people, and sometimes they just need to feel SOMETHING other than stress to realize theyre beating the people around them down.

@@am5790 with knowing how tough it is to keep a restaurant open even at the best of times is, 16% is actually fairly high when you consider MOST of these failing businesses are a quarter of a million or more in debt. If nothing else he lowers the toll the owners take sometimes WHEN they stick to his advice. It's not always that easy as the deals with markets or fishmonger or farmers he makes for their business likely won't last too long once he's gone and some of the product he pushes for menus can be hard to sustain while that far in debt. But he's definitely a good person for at least trying to help.

And when they raise their complaints, they're using soft voices. They know their boss and even though the boss is still in denial, the staff is just gracious.

@@Phoebonaccii thing is I think he can put his foot down and he certainly has done that. However because of his main job he isn't there enough to properly control the restaurant and put Abby in her place. Plus he was in debt so that would add another layer of stress for him
Yeah I really felt for him, that was his biz partner and he spoke to her countless times about her defensive stubbornness but she wouldn't change and admit she was wrong, and he couldn't afford to lose her. Bet the guy works hard and respect him, felt bad for his situ too.

i like how gordon doesnt just taste the food and shout at people (which everyone makes him look like) but after he helps the restaurant get more customers teaches the chefs how to cook better and give advice and ultimately changes they're lifes

It goes to show you how much of a good person Gordon is. He's coming off a highly heated argument and still gently asks the camera crew to leave him be. Class.
He knows it's not their fault and manages to act like that too. Highly respect that, so many people aren't able to do that. It's the same with how he treats the waiters - he knows the food isn't their responsibility
@@Leona17 I've noticed that his default attitude to the waiters is always respectful. He knows that they already know where the problems are. In fact a lot of the restaurants he helped could have stopped the rot long before by actually listening to their staff.
Not to be confused with being a good person - being professional. Although I do think he genuinely wants the best for everyone he helps as long as they actually want it too. It's respect, honesty and after all his reputation.
From what I've heard it's mostly just an act. He definitely has this hot-headed personality, but not to that extend.
