It was all there and still solid, just needed someone to recognize that and love it back to life. Glad you did, great save!
Yes! Thank you!
Those were the chairs of my childhood. Contoured, comfortable and beautiful. Mid century will never be as good. Very worthy of your masterful restoration.
Couldn't agree more! It is so comfortable the way it contours to your body
Wow, the Lazarus chair!!! You raised it from the dead!!! It looks fantastic!!!!! That style is the original farmhouse dining room chair. Everyone wanted those when I was young. In Indiana that chair style was huge 😁
Thank you so much for the compliment and info on this piece. I appreciate it
Had me worried, thought you weren’t gonna fill in the gaps! Whew!! Beautiful and well done.
Thank you so much 😊
Thank you for restoring this handsome chair so well. The stain you chose was perfect and brought out the wood grain and decoration so nicely. It was very satisfying to watch, Thank you 😊
Thank you very much! I’m glad you like it
Great job👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you! 😃
Amazing transformation!!
Thank you!!
Absolutely stunning Samuel, even in its bare wood state when you put it back together it already looked a million times better than what you started with but that stain finished it off beautifully. Loved the sandblasting of the chair back and seeing the intricate carving stand out.
Thank you very much! I used the sand blast method to save the details. I was torn between raw finish or stain
Wow i didn’t think it was possible for that chair to look this good it was beyond repair in my eyes and how you mixed that wood glue with saw dust such an awesome idea great video you definitely get a thumbs up looking forward to the next video..
Thank you brother. Appreciate it
Perfect!!!!!!!!

Great restoration.Carol from California
Thank you very much!
Oh and another tip: to prevent marks from the type of clamps that has a metal plate at the end, use a block of wood between the clamp and the furniture piece :)
Thank you for the tips. Really appreciate it
👍👍👍💯💯💯😍💥🤔👏👏👏💥👌👌👌🎉

We had chairs of this same design when I was a child.
Awesome
We did too and I still have one. I need to refinish it.
Thank you 😊
Love. I did one with arms and made it into a computer chair. I stained and painted the carved woodwork and added a square of cherry under the seat to make it nice and solid. It made a wonderful gift!
That is awesome! I love to hear of peoples furniture stories
BEAUTIFUL !! GREAT WORK !! ❤❤
Thank you! Cheers!

I agree. Just an oversight
It looks new again. What a save!!

Stunning restoration. I really enjoyed this video I watched it twice.
Thank you very much! I appreciate it
This chair came out amazing.
Thank you 😊
This looks like the kind of chairs manufactured by S. Bent & CO in Gardner MA...they were one of several furniture manufacturers in Gardner at the time....until a bunch of then left for the South in the mid 70's
That’s actually who made these. There is a stamp on the bottom of the chair
Gardner MA is also known as Chair City.......in front of one of the schools, there is a "statue" of a HUGE chair of the kind made in Gardner. Also in the area was a chair manufacturer that made Ethan Allen chairs as well as the Heywood-Wakefield CO. It was quite a place to live.@@CedarPineDesigns
@@dianesaulnier9772that’s so awesome to know. I had no idea
Another great job Samuel, well done 👏👏

Wood is amazing. Abuse and ignore it for years, and still with skill and perseverance it can glow again.
Exactly! It always has a beautiful wood grain just waiting to be exposed again
Gorgeous job!
Thank you! Cheers!

I've got a rocker, very similar to that, in about 50 pieces. I was on the brink of binning it. Not now. Many thanks.
Glad you decided to keep it.
What an amazing job you did restoring this antique chair. Very impressive! I've subscribed to your channel to see more of your work.
Thanks for the sub! I appreciate the compliment
Nice restoration , well done 👏👏👍

Muy bueno

That’s a great idea
A jointer would have made the seat fit together perfectly.
I know. I had an 8 inch Ridgid jointer that I sold regretfully like 1 years ago ago. I need another one
Thank you so much. Glad I could save it
Nice work and finish, but a bit slap dash with glueing.
Thank you
❤❤
❤
Great restoration. My only suggestion would be to use some scrap pieces between the screw clamps and the work piece to minimize possible impressions. Narragansett Bay
Thank you so much for the visit and tip. I’ll try that next time
