Another interesting thing about the Bomb Towers is that on the info/upgrade screen it shows them specifically countering hog riders instead of any other troop like barbarians, which are commonly used as an example troop for most other defences. Further goes to show they were necessary to counter hogs. Good video btw, keep it up

That’s prob cause u are a e drag player or a lower townhall. Bomb tower is pretty good especially if placed next to key defences like a townhall or eagle artillery because of the death bomb helping to counter a blizzard or a super archer blimp.

@@philipp117. i still use super wizards over magic archers, depending on the base, if there isn’t a lot of value then magic archers are kinda useless, plus they are a big commitment: rage, clone and invisibility. While wizards is just rage and invisibility so it leaves more spells open, ie super wizards are better for multiplayer.

One of my favourite defenses, they are not really usefull with tankier enemies but can deal really good damage to small troops and the giant bomb it leaves is really powerfull, I hope another bomb tower for th17 someday

Bomb tower is like this extreme counter to a few strat, but absolutely useless to other attacks. Kind of make me appreciate it more, even though it only shine in TH 7 to 10, and then TH14 to 16. It is the best counter to hog in lower base and kind of prevent hog from being spam in later TH, and then it became one of the counter for Blizzard and Archer Blimp.

My bomb towers are like level 3 and 4 and I’m th 12 I just never saw the importance and at the time it took forever for what it seemed like little upgraded benefits ! After I watch this video maybe my outlook will look different

Edit: after watching, I think because of my town hall level 12* all my other defenses made them obsolete and I stopped upgrading them at th11** because eagle artillery dealt with hogs big bombs and multi infernos and they were just so expensive and I think it took like a week back then for a small damage increase so it wasn’t worth in my eyes but ima max them out before I move to Th13** I’m excited but I really want Th14* for aesthetic because I love jungle theme and I want pets but here’s to Th13 and to the others on this grind wit me!

@@arthurperalta104 I've been playing for a decade now and can remember when infernos stopped all healing. The game was much harder 5-10 years ago so maybe it just seems easy to me since a 3 star back then was so hard to get against a lvled base. I'm definitely a better player but not close to the actual pros, like everything it takes practice but you'll learn quite fast how to avoid bomb towers with super archs / clone next to it. I do think bomb towers are a hardcounter against super mages which is why you don't see anyone using them to drop against a good base

@@philipp117. yes I’ve been playing since 2014, but I have not been playing consistently and in the beginning I rushed my village to Townhall nine and it took me almost 18 months to recover I remember when Inferno stopped healing Tesla did double damage to thepekka yes, the game was much harder especially for me who did not learn any good strategies but I’m much better now and I’m trying to master the super archer blip. I’ve recently started using Queen charge Hydra and I’m going to Townhall 15. is this strategy still viable at 15 or should I switch back to Super Bowl or smash?

Bro you never mentioned their most important use in higher townhall. Their are one of the best (if not the best) counters against super archer blimb, witch ate racking based. That should have been in the video. But nice editing and story telling 👍

Bomb Tower was already a much needed nerf to Ground. At the time, Witches and Valkyries were dominating, along with Hogs being a rogue attack strategy and Ground was safer than air due to the Air Sweeper. Lavaloon was only seen as a Safe 2 star instead of the Top 3 star strategy, So when the Bomb tower arrived, everyone was excited. Nowadays, Bomb Tower seems to get too much flak, but it's just that Air remained Insane, with it becoming a sleeper strategy.

I started playing in 2024. My favorite attack for th7-8 was hog riders still. I was very careful about how I approached with respect to the bomb tower, for the most part I would keep an eye on my hog riders and drop heals accordingly, as well as checking for giant bombs. My strat worked very effectively, but supercell got what they wanted, my hogrider attacks were not brainless, and required careful planning, and it sometimes failed (usually 3 starred though)

I'm really sad you didn't talk about "trap ths" or ths meant to lure you in for a blizzard/blimarch attack where your main target is the TH. Personally, that's the only reason why I still fear the bomb tower because air attacks are so op now after several air defense nerfs. All im playing now is lalo/hydra.

one of key reasons why they won't nerf it is because it doesnt need a nerf. I've never struggled against one while it saved me some defenses from annoying troop spam players (i'm a diehard lavaloon fan and always attack with only this deck)

It was only needed due to double bomb nerf. Miss the times where you could whipe out the whole army. I used to play a lot when th10 was max and never had a problem. Hogs were very risky due to 0 star potential when you ran into double bombs

At the end of the day all new toops eventually becomes useless. Supercell release new troops that are fun and strong only to later take that power away. This is why I never change my strategy, same troops always.

@@Darkvex97I get what are you saying but I did have an habit of crushing bases with ALL Night Witches Counters with an army of Night Witches and suddenly some weeks ago I started destroying everyone with Beta Minions and Skeleton Ballons which are "trash" units (and I honestly believe that they may be a meta strategy if they aren't already in the pro levels). So you may wanna re-evaluate what's good and bad, I definitely did with the Beta Minions when I learned that specific strategy. And meeting an Anti-Night Witch base design and proceeding to destroy it with Night Witches also speaks a lot about their quality. Heck since there isn't a lot of good Splash damage to spam there is meta designs with everything clutched together, I destroy these with a spam of Bombers... How would you feel seeing that your meta design got at least 3 star'ed by 5 Bombers xd.

Bomb towers feel so useless. I feel like they tried to do the same effect that the sweepers did but was way less effective. At times they feel very lack luster especially when in higher town halls most attacks are from air. Plus their range is very small which is a huge downside. Something they could do is make the bomb tower hit harder against tanks it’s pretty much useless when it’s targeting one

Dude, at TH15 they were massive threats towards Invis Blimp. Supercell had to specifically change how offensive CC works in order to nerf that shit down.

The bomb tower is without a doubt the most useless defense in the entire game. I have no idea why the upgrades cost what they do. It's always the last upgrade I do at any upper town hall. These things could be removed from the game completely and absolutely nothing would change.

The game was much harder 5-10 years ago so maybe it just seems easy to me since a 3 star back then was so hard to get against a lvled base. I'm definitely a better player but not close to the actual pros, like everything it takes practice but you'll learn quite fast how to avoid bomb towers with super archs / clone next to it. I do think bomb towers are a hardcounter against super mages which is why you don't see anyone using them to drop against a good base

I’ve recently started using Queen charge Hydra and I’m going to Townhall 15. is this strategy still viable at 15 or should I switch back to Super Bowl or smash?

Bomb Tower was already a much needed nerf to Ground. At the time, Witches and Valkyries were dominating, along with Hogs being a rogue attack strategy and Ground was safer than air due to the Air Sweeper. Lavaloon was only seen as a Safe 2 star instead of the Top 3 star strategy, So when the Bomb tower arrived, everyone was excited. Nowadays, Bomb Tower seems to get too much flak, but it's just that Air remained Insane, with it becoming a sleeper strategy.
I've been using hybrid from th 11 up to now th 13 .. it's really strong to be honest and also versatile with the base designs
I started playing in 2024. My favorite attack for th7-8 was hog riders still. I was very careful about how I approached with respect to the bomb tower, for the most part I would keep an eye on my hog riders and drop heals accordingly, as well as checking for giant bombs. My strat worked very effectively, but supercell got what they wanted, my hogrider attacks were not brainless, and required careful planning, and it sometimes failed (usually 3 starred though)
I am a sarcher user and tbh pro builders that knows where to place bomb towers are one of my biggest pet peeve in attacking.
Last time i upgraded bomb tower was in th13 becoz at th14 there were maximum hybrid users from th14 due to th poison 100 in 1 attack use hybrid still than it is my last option of upgrading
The concern when I try to use Super Archer/ Super Wiz Blimp is the empty space at Bomb Tower. Feel like gamble for some reason.

i played high legends all of th 15 and hybrid was a never strong attack as well as at 14 it wasnt severly weakened due to the th poison causing all the hogs and miners to die through the th

Personally, that's the only reason why I still fear the bomb tower because air attacks are so op now after several air defense nerfs. All im playing now is lalo/hydra.

one of key reasons why they won't nerf it is because it doesnt need a nerf. I've never struggled against one while it saved me some defenses from annoying troop spam players (i'm a diehard lavaloon fan and always attack with only this deck)

It was only needed due to double bomb nerf. Miss the times where you could whipe out the whole army. I used to play a lot when th10 was max and never had a problem. Hogs were very risky due to 0 star potential when you ran into double bombs

At the end of the day all new toops eventually becomes useless. Supercell release new troops that are fun and strong only to later take that power away. This is why I never change my strategy, same troops always.

@@Darkvex97I get what are you saying but I did have an habit of crushing bases with ALL Night Witches Counters with an army of Night Witches and suddenly some weeks ago I started destroying everyone with Beta Minions and Skeleton Ballons which are "trash" units (and I honestly believe that they may be a meta strategy if they aren't already in the pro levels). So you may wanna re-evaluate what's good and bad, I definitely did with the Beta Minions when I learned that specific strategy. And meeting an Anti-Night Witch base design and proceeding to destroy it with Night Witches also speaks a lot about their quality. Heck since there isn't a lot of good Splash damage to spam there is meta designs with everything clutched together, I destroy these with a spam of Bombers... How would you feel seeing that your meta design got at least 3 star'ed by 5 Bombers xd.

Was bomb tower that strong? I am a townhall 10 and it has low health, short range and ridiculously low damage, it's just a nerfed wizard tower with more accurate attacks and a giant bomb when destroyed, I barely notice a difference when defending

Bomb towers feel so useless. I feel like they tried to do the same effect that the sweepers did but was way less effective. At times they feel very lack luster especially when in higher town halls most attacks are from air. Plus their range is very small which is a huge downside. Something they could do is make the bomb tower hit harder against tanks it’s pretty much useless when it’s targeting one
Dude, at TH15 they were massive threats towards Invis Blimp. Supercell had to specifically change how offensive CC works in order to nerf that shit down.

The bomb tower is without a doubt the most useless defense in the entire game. I have no idea why the upgrades cost what they do. It's always the last upgrade I do at any upper town hall. These things could be removed from the game completely and absolutely nothing would change.
