  • I dont think they're families have any influence. They are just descendents. This is an answer to a similar question They are alive and fine. They live normal lives as normal citizens of the Republic of Korea. Some of the descendants still keep to traditional ceremonies or maintain their heritage records, but realistically, no one thinks it means anything beyond a piece of history. They receive no special treatments whatsoever There are so many descendants especially considering Korea was a closed society until quite recently and their population is not large.

  • For sure, those opposing these BTS members having "royal blood" are those other members' fans. Whether they don't have any more power or not, they're still descendants, and it's just fun to know. Btw, only V's grandparents are farmers, not his parents.

    • It's not just KIM or MIN, it's about the specific clan. That is actually public knowledge and I have seen the guys interact and tease each other. People are saying in the comment that it doesn't matter but I distinctly remember Jin and Tae teasing RM because of his Kim clan. That was an old clip.

      @HadassaMoon144@HadassaMoon14417 күн бұрын
  • Their ancestors were more likely slaves. During Joseon dynasty, when a slave was freed, he could take the name of the king's clan. Kim clan has ruled for centuries, that's why there are so many Kims. And if they are really kings descendents, it's just a nice family story. They have no power left in SK.

  • I don't think descendants in Korea or many Asian countries have the privileges & wealth the same as in Western/European countries. Especially how far back in history we are referring to... Also worth noting, traditionally only the eldest son, eldest grandson are regarded as "the golden kid" in Korean (many Asians) families. The younger siblings & the descendents could lose a lot of the privilege. So just having a bit of linkage to the royal might mean nothing at all to their social status, but it's very common that families still make sure their kids learn about their genealogical tree. Historically, once a King's been dethroned, the direct bloodlines could easily be killed or exiled with all the family's wealth taken away. Back to BTS members, Suga talked about how his family couldn't pay for his tuition fees that's why he had to work as a deliveryman & got into a car accident that injured his shoulder. Tae's family was not well off either, just farmers. Also keep in mind, Koreans follow very intense social hierarchy of what occupations one & their parents are. Working in the entertainment industry is not at all the top tier & worth it for the family tree to throw cash in to "keep them at the spotlights". Think about it if they are big enough to do that, their would be no way that many TV channels, newspapers, downplaying and even targetting BTS. About their "royal Prince outfits", that's just typical in K-pop 😂 Nothing to do with copying but it is how the marketing of the industry work- make them look like surreal gods/goddesses or kings/queen's. The Wikipedia thing, my guess is the reverse - Suga/BigHit might have got bombarded by people questioning him about it & Suga could be fed up with it & hence could request his name to be delinked from that wiki page. Afterall, he is the one wants to be known for their music, not these side rumours. Anyway, the clip is more of "by the way, fun facts!". Among Kpop fandoms, it's very common to call groups "Kings of.." "Queens of..", and BTS members are called Kings because of their talents and hard work, their undeniable stage present & influences, not because of their linkage to the royal :)

  • Having royal blood doesn't have any influence in Korea anymore lol. It's more like a fun fact really. The only blood lines that have power now are those of big corporate companies (the Samsung family is a good example, where marrying a “commoner” is like taboo) And Suga having his name removed from that list doesn't really mean anything considering it's Wikipedia - a site edited by the public 😂 it's not like any of the members have public dna results for us to see, this video is just based off of their surnames.

    @RandomJoey@RandomJoey17 күн бұрын
  • It's just like a fun fact bc nowadays royal blood has not power (and it may everything not even being truth). Now they have only the government system like many countries around the world. I don't know if it's that crazy them having royal blood compare to them being in the same group lol. I mean, they are so different but the synergy together is crazy and all of them are so talented! The way all the members got into bighit is so iconic. And yes, they found Seokjin in he streets just like that hahaha (actually it was he in a bus close to his university or something like that he said). Any member of the members passed previous auditions for other bigger companies, not some knew how to rap, dance and all the vocalist didn't sing before( jk has natural talent and the others maybe didn't sound bad singing but basically learned there) or even thought of being an idol before like Tae wanting to a farmer, Seokjin an actor, Yoongi a producer and also having talent in the underground scene as Namjoon. The only ones that had the thought of it were Jungkook, Jimin ( but he was also encouraged at first for some teachers bc he was the best in the contemporary dance apartment and he was good in dance battles too) and hobi (he was a street dancer but recently in suchwita he told us that as a kid he wanted to sing and everything too but he was shy to tell his friends and family about it at first). So the fact they are all 7 together is really fate Even they believe that too. It's so sweet 💜💜

  • I don't think it carries any influence, the kings of Korea had a wife and also many concubines. Also because they were better nourished and cared for more babies would have survived in comparison to the general population. It's a bit like Gengis Khan, who is believed to now have many millions of descendants. I think there is no influence at work here, probably a large proportion of the Korean populace has royal blood, because of the reasons mentioned before.

  • Bts are extremely open. Almost too open. If they had financial support, day one army would know through their lyrics. Jin had a good childhood and his father is a CEO but that's through hard work, not a bloodline. Yoongi had a life in the underground and struggled to eat, if he had support due to his ancestors he wouldnt have been starving every other night. They were normal people with extraordinary talent, none of them were given anything for free. In fact other idols and companies looked down on the group at first because they WERENT using connections to rise up, they were just a bunch of kids who wanted to be musicians the honest way. Any secrets or motives are not there if you look in their predebut songs. They are very honest about how their company and boss treated them at the beginning and not all of it was good but the thing is the boys are the ones who reveal their trials, not random videos on the Internet

  • So guys I think you need to do a little research about Korean Royalty: Consider the population of Korea around 1900 was around 10 million - during the Josean Period 1500s was around 5 million so chances of being related to someone noble not so surprising Kings of Korea like Chinese emperors had many Concubines and slaves - children concubines would take kings surname and these slaves often took name of their noble owners We are taking about ancestry of 300 to 400 years ago. The Japanese invaded Korea 1910 and abolished the Korean Monarchy - the Japanese ruled Korea until after the 2nd world war - Koreans were suppressed and treated very badly. I’m Scottish and my family can trace their ancestry back to the kings of Scotland around 1570 but my family have been working class and poor for most of their history - I know for Americans this is interesting however you’ll find certainly in Europe when royal families exist lots of ordinary people will be able trace there families back to ancient nobility as populations were so much smaller - watch the series who do you think you are - English working clans comedian found out he related to king Henry the V111 Now as for fashion I wore naval and army jackets with braiding that been part of fashion for decades. I’m Scottish we have clans but that doesn’t mean every one in clan is related to each other the chief of the clan etc Perhaps Wikipedia removed it because info found to be wrong - no conspiracy theory

  • The Korean war made South Korean democractic.They haven't been democratic for 100 yrs yet. But you also have the Japanese that ended dynasties. The japanese took their riches or wwere murdered. Also, kings had wives but also had other women. That could be where they came from. So, you have to remember that was all into 1600's. Look into the history of Korea. Think of Native Americans, you can say my great, great grandfather was Sitting bull, but they are still sitting in a reservation with barely running water.

  • Nobody's family had any influence, these seven were chosen for talent and potential. Over a million kids apply to the industry every year, and plenty of them are Kims. Most don't make it anywhere. The Kim family may have been rulers once, but the 6th century - 9th century was an awfully long time ago! Kim is a very, very common name in Korea, I wouldn't make much of it. Min Yoongi may have royal blood, perhaps great or great-great grandmother, but it's not proven. The upper-upper class in the Joseon dynasty, which lasted nearly 1000 years, were all considered royal. The pictures you see of BTS members in garb are "fake". V acted in a k-drama called Hwarang in 2016 (which was really cute) and he's in costume. Jin's outfit was a punishment for losing a game on Run BTS. He had to wear it to the airport - what they wear to the airport is supposed to be a fashion statement. Suga's outfit was his costume for his video Daechwita. RM wore his for a photoshoot.All of BTS has worn hanboks as costumes at one point or another in Run BTS. Take this video with a very large grain of salt!! People will come up with anything.

  • One thing is important to understand. Just because someone ‘may’ have a royal personage in their ancestry doesn’t mean they are ‘royal’. Jin and Taehyung are both said to be descended from Sinmu of Silla via his third son. That may or may not be true, but here’s the thing… it’s meaningless… because of the way genetics works. Sinmu died almost 1,200 years ago. He reigned (briefly) at roughly the same time as Charlemagne was Holy Roman Emperor. It’s been calculated that Charlemagne has well over 100 million living descendents in Europe in the 21st century, and millions more scattered around the world. Sinmu almost certainly has millions of descendants living in that part of Asia. Another example, roughly half the population of England has King Edward III somewhere in their family tree. This kind of ‘special’ ancestry sounds a whole lot less impressive when it’s shared with millions upon millions of other people. Yoongi is another case. He is a member of the Yeoheung Min clan, the same clan as the famous Empress Myeongseong, who was assassinated in 1895. There are about 160,000 members of that clan living in Korea today. I sometimes see people repeating the myth that Yoongi is descended from the Empress. He categorically isn’t, even if he **may** be very distantly related to her. She was not born royal, she married the king and became queen consort. She died less than 130 years ago, not sometime in antiquity, and some of her great grandchildren are alive today. Yoongi is not one of them. The lineage of the Korean royal family is well documented. The royal family is the House of Yi and has been since the founding of the Joseon dynasty at the end of the 14th century CE.

Many common people are linked to “royal blood”. Westerners watching this video will automatically think of the extravagant British royal monarchy and their privileges. It’s not like that in SK anymore. I think you guys talked over the video when it mentioned that Japanese colonialism’s impact. Today, the most powerful Korean families are running powerhouses like Samsung (now THIS family has a lot of controversy y’all might want to get into😂). Think about this way, Thomas Jefferson was a historical figure. His descendants are still alive, but does your average American know their names? Are they famous? Wealthy? Given status in government? Maybe, maybe not. Your average American would probably find that fact cool, but not care at the end of the day. (Not the most accurate comparison, but you get the point. 😅)

Sometimes it may be true, although it might be 8th or 9th cousins stuff. I don't have any royal blood that I'm aware of, but who knows? I could be someone's nephews cousins uncle great great grand something or other, and don't even know it! Either way, if they aren't a DIRECT descendant, then it's usually only "fun stuff" to know and means very little.
