The tiger was actually watching the leopard and was ready for the leopard to strike. The tiger got in its full Crouch down mode completely flat so the leopard wouldn't see it. Totally read what that leopard was going to do. Absolutely amazing!!!

Probably not but it *is* dangerous to show a leopard your back, even one you have worked with, because they are ambush hunters and sometimes they cant resist a turned back, its literally a basic instinct. But you can also see, that the tiger wasnt fully serious either, he basically just blocked the way and pushed the leopard away, without using a lot of force.

This is a Tiger with highly-developed social, predatory, survival, and duty instincts. The Leopard had no chance in hell of getting by him - at least unscathed. The headbutt was effective and the Tiger even mimicked the discipline of the zookeeper. All in all, I'd rather have a Tiger at my back than a Leopard.

I'm amazed by how early the tiger caught onto the leopard. I have to wonder if the leopard didn't see the tiger or just didn't take it into account as an obstacle. It's important to understand the differences in wild big cat species. Leopards prey on primates primarily and are less pack related than other animals. You can become apart of a Lion's pride. A tiger can see you as a sibling or something it considers to be a family member. Especially females. Lions and Tigers also usually hunt big game mammals. Tiger and cat behavior is remarkably similar in alot of ways. Leopards don't form social bonds like other cats and we ARE on the menu.

The tiger noticed the hunting demeanor and moved to a position where he could watch what the leopard was trying to hunt. The leopard was trying to use the tree to hide his attack but the tiger already noticed.

I watched back the video a couple of times and noticed how the tiger went from laying down to sitting and watching what the leopard was going to do. 0:52 You can see at that time the leopard was getting up and walking towards the man. Like he was sitting down just watching. I’m so happy with the tiger’s quick thinking that saved his human’s life.🧡🖤🧡

I keep wondering how the tiger may have known that. Maybe instinct. Some call it eye of the tiger. Idk. Of course cats know cats. They probably understand their body language very well. But I wonder if the tiger just saw the leopard and thought it would attack the leopard. Catch it off guard and play with it. Again, coincidentally that happened to be when the leopard then decided to attack the guy. I think it was coincidence.

The leopard was stalking but not hunting. That was not a predatory attack but similar behaviour as shown by cats when playing. The leopard would have kept claws retracted. Notice how there was no sound and the leopard's claws weren't out.

@@triggeredlatina If you watch from the beginning the Leopard is already in stalker mode, when it first moves behind the tree, it looks like he was thinking of playing with the other Leopard that is next to him. The Tiger takes a few quick glances and when the Leopard has moved and it also looks like the Leopard picks it's spot because the tree's obscure the line of sight. The Tiger immediately notices the Leopard has moved somewhere and repositions itself to face towards the Leopard. Curiously enough the Leopard keeps looking at the Black Panther and the other Leopard near it. It seems like on the Leopards initial approach they briefly make eye contact with the Tiger as the Leopard quickly sits down and acts like it wasn't doing anything at all, the Tiger also slightly adjusts itself from lying on it's side to lying down on it's paws. The Tiger knew the Leopard wanted to play/practice it's hunting skills, it was just a matter of who was going to be it's target. It's like watching a mother getting ready to stop her kid from getting hurt from doing something that everyone but the child realises is stupid

@@obscure_genesis Uh. No. He would have died. Leopard was acting on its prey drive. He was crouched over, low to the ground, with his back turned. Leopard would have killed him simply for that reason alone. With 1 solid bite to the neck. Even domestic cats do this type of stuff to animals they see as prey. That's partly why the Tiger was crouched down watching his back.

Well humans can do that to, its part instinct, part training. The few people that still life close to nature would have seen that coming from a mile away. Infact, they would have never allowed themselfes to get comfortable within an area with many potential deaththreats and would have kept a mental note of every cat and its position. Humans are afraid of big cats like this . When we come across them in their natural habitat We panic when they escape their enclosures at the local zoos . A lot of people report walking backwards to avoid exposing their backs, which is when they attack This fool got too comfortable and cocky

Probably not but it *is* dangerous to show a leopard your back, even one you have worked with, because they are ambush hunters and sometimes they cant resist a turned back, its literally a basic instinct. But you can also see, that the tiger wasnt fully serious either, he basically just blocked the way and pushed the leopard away, without using a lot of force.

This is a Tiger with highly-developed social, predatory, survival, and duty instincts. The Leopard had no chance in hell of getting by him - at least unscathed. The headbutt was effective and the Tiger even mimicked the discipline of the zookeeper. All in all, I'd rather have a Tiger at my back than a Leopard.

I'm amazed by how early the tiger caught onto the leopard. I have to wonder if the leopard didn't see the tiger or just didn't take it into account as an obstacle. I'm pretty sure Leopards and Tigers share living space in South Asia, especially in India where both cats live.

It's important to understand the differences in wild big cat species. Leopards prey on primates primarily and are less pack related than other animals. You can become apart of a Lion's pride. A tiger can see you as a sibling or something it considers to be a family member. Especially females. Lions and Tigers also usually hunt big game mammals. Tiger and cat behavior is remarkably similar in alot of ways. Leopards don't form social bonds like other cats and we ARE on the menu.

I watched back the video a couple of times and noticed how the tiger went from laying down to sitting and watching what the leopard was going to do. 0:52 You can see at that time the leopard was getting up and walking towards the man. The leopard was stalking but not hunting. That was not a predatory attack but similar behaviour as shown by cats when playing. The leopard would have kept claws retracted. Notice how there was no sound and the leopard's claws weren't out.

The Tiger takes a few quick glances and when the Leopard has moved and it also looks like the Leopard picks it's spot because the tree's obscure the line of sight. The Tiger immediately notices the Leopard has moved somewhere and repositions itself to face towards the Leopard. Curiously enough the Leopard keeps looking at the Black Panther and the other Leopard near it. It seems like on the Leopards initial approach they briefly make eye contact with the Tiger as the Leopard quickly sits down and acts like it wasn't doing anything at all, the Tiger also slightly adjusts itself from lying on it's side to lying down on it's paws. The Tiger knew the Leopard wanted to play/practice it's hunting skills, it was just a matter of who was going to be it's target. It's like watching a mother getting ready to stop her kid from getting hurt from doing something that everyone but the child realises is stupid

Well humans can do that to, its part instinct, part training. The few people that still life close to nature would have seen that coming from a mile away. Infact, they would have never allowed themselfes to get comfortable within an area with many potential deaththreats and would have kept a mental note of every cat and its position. I am referring to the innate predatorial instincts that are almost subconscious to these creatures. I’m not saying that humans cannot learn some sort of similar way of reading a situation and learning things like what you’ve said, but I feel like these predators are far more keen to these things than we could ever be. Humans are afraid of big cats like this . When we come across them in their natural habitat We panic when they escape their enclosures at the local zoos . A lot of people report walking backwards to avoid exposing their backs, which is when they attack This fool got too comfortable and cocky
@@hannahdyson7129 ah yeah. Honestly, I didn’t think about the fear factor. But you’re very right. Toe to toe without any weapons, we do not in any way match their ability to kill. We lose all day every day. I bet the fact that they do not have that fear factor like we do, could definitely contribute to their ability to stay calm in situations like this.
Even small cats that you share a bond with can be unpredictable at times. Hanging out with dozens of big cats this guy has made the conscious decision to absolutely not die of old age.

What the leopard was doing is not that different to what your cat does when it "stalks" you and pounces biting your arm. It's a form of play. The leopard was playing, still incredibly dangerous, which is why leopard handlers never turn their backs on them.
