The Yaris Cross is a chunky small crossover from Toyota, based on the Yaris, you might have guessed. It's a lot better than you think.

We drive this car in Germany and just love it.
"Run DMC... classic crossover" - excellent ! 😂
Great little car, it looks kind of tough too, like a Juke that hasn’t taken things too far
loved your review, really leaning to getting one of these for my work commute and keeping my gas guzzler for fun.
Cracking little hybrid
Nice and fun review. I just got mine last week and it does everything as described. It's also a very fun car to drive. Well, for me at last. Cheers.
Really enjoyed this review - thanks. I have one on order and I’m excited to get it. It’s replacing my C-HR. Your spot on about the lights, they rarely dip when you need them to! 😂🤣
I was surprised to hear it, as my Aygo X probably has the exact same system software wise and it works flawlessly. Have yall set the brightness sensitivity lower? It's like the first thing the dealer did to mine when he was delivering it to me.
I can’t wait for mine!! April is a long way away…
Review was really cool and enjoyed watching it. Thanks
You're very welcome. Thanks for saying so. :-D Mark.
Mint review gees a like 👍 doing great
Mark is the best car reviewer by a country mile. Why isn't he on Top Gear?
Because Top Gear isn’t good enough for him
Wasn’t the original Honda HRV the first compact crossover in ‘98?? It was certainly ahead of its time #joymachine
Columbu was inducted into the IFBB Hall of Fame in 2001, International Sports Hall of Fame in 2013. Some respect please!!
Would be interesting to see your style Honda HRV review 😅
I really like the nonsense but needed a towing capacity of 750kg (the current C-HR maxes out at 725kg). It was therefore between the Juke Hybrid and the Yaris Cross and I chose reliability and efficiency over style and am currently trying not to be too gutted as I collect my new car this weekend.
The following is entirely a personal opinion: I like more all the SUV alternatives you mentioned. And as a hybrid SUV I also like more either the Honda HR-V or the Renault Captur, despite both providing similar end-user experience, that is, a lot of noise with little acceleration when pressed hard.
Need help with this! Ok, so parents are about to buy one, and trading in their 2013 rav4. That Rav was AWFUL over bump, so comfort is the main thing they want. Ive also been in a new CHR, which was disappointing as it also seemed to not have got any more comfortable over the 2013 RAV my parents have. So, the question is, how is the Yaris Cross? The salesman said the CHR was based on the corolla, the Yaris is based on the new Rav4?
Getting rid of my puma for one of these, loads of issues with puma resulting in a new engine being fitted at just less than 3 years old, hopefully I’ll get mine in April
You won't be disappointed. Trinidad &:Tobago. West Indies.
Très belle voiture 🎈
The Yaris Cross and Aygo X are really true caricatures of modern cars
Where has Mark gone?
great review but dont think its as well built and as good looking as the CHR and does not handle or ride as well but if your after a bit more boot space its ok and the back doors dont open very wide.
No other car can compete with the MPG !!??
IIJM or is the B-roll film of a different spec car? The infotainment screen is different. One has buttons and the other doesn't. Sorry, I realise this is a sad and dull point.
It looks like the B Roll is a Premier Edition and the interior shots are an Excel. Even more boring answer 😂
@@oliverstemp9132 The std Excel has the same 9" screen as the Premier Edition but Mark's car has the 'city' pack option added which acutally downgrades the 9" screen to the older 8" unit as the software for the 'birds eye view' parking isn't compatible. I'll get my coat on the way out....😀
This is the only one available with AWD but it's a bit too slow for me
Not suprised you don't going to tell us about the E-CVT ( because it's boring ). Most car revieuwer don't understand it. The fact, you are irritated by the engine noise boosting up the RPM, proves my point. 😆
Good one.
base level icon gets BETTER mpg than higher levels … toyota made a mistake there … is it wheel size?
Yes….smaller wheels = better mpg and lower co2 (for company car tax)
Also FWD is likely more efficient than AWD
Looks shite with the 16” wheels. The 18”s makes it look like a completely different car for the better
@@podge5555 disagree they look fine … it’s a nice design
@@OutRAjiousApparently the smaller tyres also provide a smoother ride?
First ...
Shame the front looks like an ugly transformer (robot car film) and that boot floor looks extremely cheap, plasticky and likely to break.
