SHAMELESS | series finale reaction 11x12 (my comfort show left me without closure rip)
the only good thing about depression deteriorating my memory is that when i rewatch shameless one day, it'll feel like the first time,,,

psa: i do not own the música!
the song playing in the background of my intro is
it's raining. - masked man w/ potsu
#shameless #finale #reaction
it's the fact that the song they sang in the finale is the song that played during the credits in the pilot that makes me SOB and that the show ended the same way it began
stop i realized this after i watched the finale 😭😭😭
I think Liam is the “innocent” one. That’s why he likes him. Also the three flashbacks GAVE ME GOOSEBUMPS
its the fact Liam pretty much is the only one out of them all that cared about Frank... Fiona... she did... she actually loved that man but hated him with a passion her hatred is how she never had a chance to grow up... but loved him bc he is the only one to tell her the truth... as for the others... Lip loved his mother more than Frank... Lip respected Frank but knew hed be like him fast... Carl also respected Frank and loved him... til he got a bit older... same with Debbie... but its debbie
I still can't process the fact that Fiona was never mentioned by V and Kev when crying bout leaving Chicago and The Alibi even a minute of "I wish Fiona was here" would've hurt :((
Yeah but V and Fiona's relationship fell off towards the end
Exactly after all you knew :/ nobody ever again
Fiona didn't even say goodbye to V and Kevin. That was so odd to me
Truthfully, I don’t think it could’ve ended any other way. Sure, there was lot left open-ended, but that perfectly reflects the show as a whole: there’s no such thing as closure for the Gallagher family. Those characters will never stop growing and changing, even off camera; for every problem they have, there will always 10 more waiting for them. The only character who got a full send off was Frank, for obvious reasons. My only complaint was that we didn’t get to see Fiona return.
honestly, the more i keep seeing people share this perspective on the lack of closure, the more i start to agree. the gallaghers are a chaotic bunch, and their lives are sure to remain unpredictable. i also do wish fiona could’ve made an appearance in the finale, but honestly covid’s to blame with that one because i really believe Emmy would’ve returned if she could’ve. :’(
@@rosagenao Pray for a spinoff
@@rosagenao yeah, they said they planned ffor emmy to fly out and she was going to but couldnt because of travel restrictions :(
@@jaydenpayette3713 pain
@@rosagenao imagine the pain Emmy and the cast felt when they were told that Fiona might be on the finale then ended up not being there cause of travel restrictions, therefore Emmy just watched the last episode and the fact that the ending had FIONA written all over it, I mean laughing and singing cause of a flamin' Tesla outside The Alibi... yup FIONA :((
I honestly think my favorite relationship in this show might be between Liam and Frank. Liam loved his dad.
The way frank died alone in the hospital, from the dementia and covid.... broke me. Ik im not the only one who can relate. To anybody who lost a family member during covid, i wish you and your lost ones safe travels through the plains of existence
When the letter started being read and I realised that’s kinda what he said the opening
i went and rewatched the pilot after the show ended and noticed the same thing 🥲
omg thank u to the creators of shameless for releasing me from the shackles of copyright
I've been rewatching the show a third time, still the best thing I've watched. They need a movie 100%.
the best show ever
In one of the group interviews I saw on KZhead the interviewer asked them if they would return for a movie or a future show, like they've done with other series and they all enthuastically agreed expect Cameron M. he just didn't seem to respond. I know he wants to do other things but maybe in a few years he'll be open to it.
Omg, ian Gallagher is literally my comfort character.
love him so much 🥺
Same
Samee, and mickey for me
Ending hit me hard not gonna lie
IKR! and that's even wthout Fiona :(
It always does the flashbacks is nostalgia!! it hurts me!!
Frank was my favorite. As despicable as he was, he had a boisterous personality and a colorful way of speaking. William H. Macy's performance was absolutely masterful. I'm gonna miss watching Frank getting into one of his usual schemes
The last couple episodes were so rushed, deadass it was a cliffhanger ending . Frank didn’t even write anything about Fiona. & this series went downhill once Fiona left
Ive seen alot of hate towards this finale, but i honestly loved it. The things i would change were prevented by covid (alot of the complaints this season were about things that couldnt be controlled) I think leaving so many unanswered questions was so fitting and really pushed the narrative that chaos never ends for them. I also think the way they did franks voiceover was super well done and wrapped things up as well as they could. This show has also changed me and its really hard to say goodbye to something thats been such a big part of my life. but overall the finale was a little underwhelming but i loved the way they did it. thank you for this reaction!! ive been spending the last few days trying to cope, and i also don’t usually see too many reactions for shameless :)
essentially i have the same feelings, i don’t think it was their best work, but i can also recognize that covid (unfortunately) heavily influenced the storyline for the final season and there was nothing that could change that. i do agree that the final minutes with frank’s letter was excellently done, and in my opinion, made up for it. though i was pretty late to the train, this show is sooo special to me so i knew i had to make a dedicated video for its ending 🤍
I feel like This show would not be anything without Frank😭😭😭
Great show but a series finale should answer questions and tie up all the loose ends. This finale brought up more questions like is Carl having a baby, who bought the bar from Kev and V, did Debbie ever find a place, and what happened with the stolen motorcycles? Acting like Fiona wasn't part of the family was a mistake
honestly, i think you’re right about that first part, it’s cool to still preserve some mystery/ambiguity
I rewatched it 10 times this month I miss it so much
show was a full on joy ride 3years of just joy and laughter
The show ended the way it started them around a fire and frank talking about his family
I love that he shafted Debbie in his note 😂😂 it tracks so well with their relationship in the last 3 seasons
No bc the last episode made me cry I was like wait that’s it 😭😭😭😭
I wish they would’ve did an episode where they found out he died and had a funeral to end it at least.
Literally re-watching this a year later & still brings tears to my eyes hahaha
Man I loved this show and when I saw this episode today I lost it I cried like the time my grandpa passed
such a good show sad it has to end
know :’((((( i wish i would’ve started it earlier so that i could’ve grown up with the show & its characters 🥺
I liked how they did it.
im gonna miss my babies so so much stopppp
💔
Ngl... that ending broke me up😭🤣
The show had many issues due to the fact that they completely forgot what made them successful in the first place. The way storylines came together on earlier seasons always left us thinking how crazy their lives were and how they barely made it out of one situation to the next and all the events fit together in a logical plot line. There were causes and effects to the actions of each character. If something happened there was a clear result and the heartfelt moments always punched quite intensely, I still remember Mandy running over Karen, that was crazy. This is what made the situations so interesting while one thing is a happening there are bigger risks that made us connect with the characters. There were real consequences to the actions of characters and rather than have characters spew exposition and future possibilities, they used to show how the characters felt by the decisions they made. This last seasons after Fiona was written off basically half way through season 9 and the struggles of earlier seasons made the show feel like a car crash with absolutely no survivors. People still praise the characters for special moments here and there, but there was no respect for the plot line. Again just felt like a money grab for a big studio not willing to stay true to the characters. Also, they totally made Lip and idiot by the end of the show, he had so much potential and is a total genius, how did they do him so dirty, not as badly as they did Fiona, but it’s rough. If anyone ever wants to revive they show they better do it right, otherwise is just a money grab much like that new Dexter show they are trying to release.
yeah i totally agree with the part about how fiona and lip’s individual storylines turned out, wasn’t my favorite :((
I'm so empty 😔
i feel your pain 😔
I feel like he was looking for Fiona going to patsy
Me too very sad why watching again
shameless after season 8 was downhill and after 9, it dropped. Regardless, it's a great show that stayed as consistent as it could. Finale...... bittersweet but it did not live up to what it was during it's golden age.
i just finished it and feel kind of empty
They need to bring to bring it back and see where everybody is and show how they react to franks death
I didnt think it was trash like most people did.. I thought it was okay it could have been better. I thought it was stupid how they introduced a new gf for Debbie at the end like wtf why introduce a new character in the second to last episode?? Lol.. Also I feel like Frank should have mentioned Fiona in the letter.
i basically have the same feelings, i don’t think it was horrible, but i also know the writers/creators had the potential to make it a lot better (also yeah, i did not like the debbie x random new girlfriend thing at alllll)
@@rosagenao Remember that painting that Frank stole earlier in the season? I thought he was going to eventually sell it before he died for almost a half million dollars and give the money to his family. That's how I would have ended the series. He sells the painting to make up for being a shitty father for all those years.
oh wow, i didn’t even think about that! i thought something more was gonna come from the stolen painting too, so it would’ve been nice if they had given it more significance in this way (or another)
@@rosagenao Yeah right! Such a missed opportunity.. I thought for sure when Frank was writing that letter that he had a check from that painting.. Then I realized oh fuck.. Frannie ended up drawing all over the painting like wtf! Lol
the Fiona part ruined it all for me
"Some people say you can't drink your troubles away... I say your just not drinking enough"😒
why didnt you watch the original british one?
You should watch the UK shameless came out back in 2004 and it is really good should react
hmm i hadn’t thought about reacting, but maybe i should! i’ve already seen the first couple episodes, so perhaps for the uk series finale? (when i get to it, of course)
I love you Frank Forever
Goodbye and goodridance to Frank, worst father in tv history, goodbye to Debbie, sexual predator. Lip work hard at sabatoge his chance at a decent life. Carl and Micky are my favorites.
I need spin off with Ian and Mickey
Frank was one of the most narcissistic selfish assholes I've ever seen in a TV show.. but that ending hurt, he soooo deserved to at least have somebody there🥺
You forgot the mid-credits scene
if it was the explosion thing, i did see it but just edited it out. if not, lmk!!
Show ended as it started…
It’s sad how it ends and what happens to Frank it wasn’t the ending I was expecting and we were left with so many un answered questions and it was the wrong way to end the series in my opinion.
it wasn’t my favorite season finale they’ve had, but i also don’t think it was horrible
I really hate the finale I had such high hopes it felt so rushed they would have left Frank dead from the beginning on the couch not in the hospital they should’ve never brought that new girl lab should’ve got a job whenever he help the guy out and Fiona should I showed up
i blame covid ☹️
I've never watched this show. Also....1:22 (That's a woman?????).
yeah that’s heidi, she just randomly popped up in the previous episode also, are you sure you wanna spoil the ending for yourself if you’ve never watched the show?? 😭 it’s so good, i recommend you check it out!
@@rosagenao It's not a big deal...thank you for sharing. It's cool seeing what shows you like. Do you like any sci-fi?
You watching teen wof
no I have never watched! do you recommend?
Less talking...
you’ll get copywrited if you include too much of the show, that’s why i have to interject with comments/speaking :)
I hated Debbie
