The British racers adopted Ireland's green because when it was their turn to host the Gordon Bennett Cup, motor racing on public roads was illegal in Great Britain, so they hosted the race in Ireland instead. The colours of the flag of the United Kingdom already have been reserved by other nations, the British adopted green as a mark of respect towards Ireland for hosting the event and then they stuck with it.

  • Nice review. Superb car. Would also be great to see the car in action on the road, a simply drive-by for example, as opposed to just an interior shot of Doug speaking

  • The interior is absolutely gorgeous (especially compared to the DB11). Minus the gloss black it would be perfect. Volkswagen has the Smart Climate for years and I love it and use it quite frequently, nice to see these features also in upscale cars that where years behind previously.

  • @DougDeMuro the "Final Inspection" plate under the hood on modern Astons refers to the entire car's final inspection, not the person who built the engine. This is made more confusing by where they have chosen to mount this plate on the newer cars, but if you ever get a chance to do the factory tour at Gaydon, they explain this.

  • A quite interesting and informative review as we always anticipate from you sir and I highly appreciate it. But being a tire geek I have something to say about @5:31 it is a Michelin Pilot Sport S 5 not 5 S and the lettering AML means that it is specifically developed for Aston Martin cars. Thus, when a tire deteriorates the owner has no choice but the dealership to source it.

  • Would like to pick on Doug's 1 quirk about the car. The lever to bonnet opener is on the passenger side not because Aston Martin didn't borther BUT because it's apparently it's the same for right hand drive cars too. I am currently test driving Aston Martins and I noticed it being on the passenger side for both Rapide & DB9.

  • Rimac did the infotainment and battery for Valkyrie. I wouldnt be surprised if they did the infotainment for the DB12 as well. I see AML have also managed to get the AMG engine to sound like one of their own, it sounds great.

  • Okay, I may be getting old, but I like this Aston Martin more than Ferraris just because this is so sensible (Of course passionwise and soundwise I still prefer Ferrari) and well thought out, I LOVE IT 💚 Also YES, finally got one of your reviews with beautiful backgrounds again 💚💚 Edit: Oh, I forgot, I think those backseats are just for added practicality, maybe you wanna throw your backpack in the back seat if you have a passenger for example :)
