Look at the 2016 Real Madrid team and the 2012 Barca team, they dominated most of their matches (both clubs) in europe. Not to mention two of the greatest players ever to kick a ball played in both of teams.
That's why they're both the best club in the world. And Ronaldo Messi also owned this decades. If messi didn't win ballon d'or Ronaldo won. If Ronaldo didn't win. Messi won. I can't thinking. 4:03 this game really broke my heart. I enjoyed the Season, it was one of the greatest I have ever seen from Wolfsburg. JR Malanda died in a car accident in the last season. You noticed how the team always played for him. The 2-0 victory was one of the greatest things that happend in our clubs history. Sadly we lost the second leg with 3-0 because of a worldclass player named Ronaldo. After the ref blew the whistle after 90 Minutes I was sad but somehow Happy at the same time. I was sad because we got kicked out but I was also happy. I was happy because I was able to see my Favorit club Wolfsburg win the first leg against Real with 2-0 and play for JR Malanda. I will never ever forget that Team and I will never ever forget that season. I wish that I could see this team one more Time. I never noticed how quick time passes. This was in 2016 ago and now we got a completly different Team. We went through different phases in such a short time.... From EL to CL to no international Cup all the way down to relegation playoffs 2 times and now we are back in the EL.... Just crazy 🐺💚
I started this decade as a 10 year old child, turned into a teenager and now I'm a full grown man. This decade will never be topped for me or anyone born between 1996 and 2004 because these are the most exciting years to watch football. These memories will be stuck with us forever and we will always remember watching our childhood idols and our dreams to one day play with them no matter how old we get.

Football has been around for many decades and there have been many great players throughout history. People are just saying it's the best decade because it is fresh in people's mind. I mean in 1994 or 2004 for example, look at how many good teams who have a shot at the Champions League? AC Milan, Inter Milan, Manchester United, Ajax alongside Barca, Madrid, Juventus, Bayern etc. Never mind numbers or statistics. It's how many top level competitors are there. It has signficantly dropped over the last 20 or 25 years to a handful few sadly.
For most of us, this was our childhood. I remember being 10 years old watching my first World Cup and falling in love with the game.

This is just spectacular. Mad to think that it’s over all the madness and beautiful moments in that decade . The one I grew up in watched my idols play such as Ronaldo etc and witnessed moments that no one else will. Football isn’t just a game , it’s an escape.
To he honest, I am more of a basketball person. I don't remember ever watching football regularly. But for some reason, I remember all these moments. Especially those before 2018. And they give me chills. It really is a beautiful game
2010s was arguably the greatest ever decade for football. Two powerhouses in Messi and Ronaldo dominating the scene with Leicester winning the league and Portugal winning the euros. What a time to be alive

@worldd777 I mean its probably because you're getting older. Everyone i talk to loves new football and the new players and the style of the game. Back then, it was a lot slower, and less technical. Now, everyone has technical ability, even goalies. The game is at such a high level, that you probably won't get a guy like Ronaldinho, and if you do, then he's just that good. Messi makes all the high level players look dumb, and if you only think about stats when you think of messi, then you're being biased. Go watch some of his best misses, and you'll see things not even Maradona could dream of. Mbappe, Haaland, Sancho, Dembele(if he stays fit), Rodrygo, Ansu Fati, Frenkie de jong, Federico Valverde, Kimmich, Donnarauma, De ligt, Arthur, are part of the new generation of players. And they are all fantastic. If you can't see that, then you're stuck in the past. The game will never stay the same. Maybe in 50 years, we will think of Messi/Ronaldo as plumbers, and the players they play as milkmen, but that will be a testament to how much the sport has gotten better. I will love for that to happen, because it means the level just keeps on rising, rather than staying the same for over 100 years, like something like baseball, where the sport slowly dies, because the athletes havent gotten better and the game stays the same since 1900.

And to dedicate the worldcup winning goal to his late best friend, Dani Jarque who became the captain of Espanyol FC a month before his death. To this day Iniesta will always receive a standing ovation at the RCDE stadium despite the two clubs being bitter rivals. Such is the beauty of the game.
The 2000-2020 era of football is the best ever in my opinion and will never be matched. We have been blessed to see some of the greatest players to ever play the game all play at the same time.

100% agree. It's an absolute shame how much he seems to have passed in peoples minds despite being one of the greatest of all time to bless the game. The worst part is I make that statement and often people argue as they just have no idea whatsoever. He is an absolute legend of football and ought to be remember by all as exactly that.
