Only like this for about a month in their white fluff, I think .... Gain five pounds a day too much cuteness. What a miracle. No trouble with the snow and ice if getting enough milk Arctic animals absolutely amaze me
Until the Marine Mammal International Moratorium of 1987 was issued, lots of these poor puppies were horrendously flayed alive just to make furs. And it was perfectly legal to do it. They had been slaughtered so ferociously, harp seals declined in numbers from an estimated 50 milions in the XVII Century down to 1.5 milions when the Moratorium was issued, and now they have rebound to a population of around 3 to 6 milions, still a very far cry from their historical numbers. This is just how out-of-the-scale vicious our species can be... Edit: since the day KZhead algorhythm has unfortunately suggested me this video, I've watched it at least once a day: this baby seal is so criminally cute, it is lucky it wasn't me behind the camera because I would eventually have given up and hugged it to death! Why has the freaking natural selection made them this way, there was no valid reason! It makes me wondering even more how can some utter monsters butcher them alive just for some very freaking pelts, I hope these "people"'s bussiness might go bankrupt and see them forced working in a mine 18 hours a day with just a bowl of plain rice as only meal! I'm not an environmentalist or an animalist, but please, folks, if you cannot stop before this chubby, fluffy, big-eyed, almost-talking, whirling finned sausage, you definitely have something wrong inside of your presumably empty head, hearth and Soul...
