Are American Eskimo dogs good pets? Do they shed a lot? Are American Eskimo dogs dangerous? What is the American Eskimo dog price?
In this video I will answer all these questions and show the top 7 facts about the breed, including the price!
Also known as, the "Eskie", the American Eskimo Dog is a medium-sized, compact, and muscular dog breed.
Descended from European Spitz-type dogs, The Eskie, with its majestic white double coat, loves the outdoors and is perfect for someone who is looking for a dog to play and jog with in colder climates.
The American Eskimo Dog has a slightly long body and a compact build, very much resembling the Nordic Spitz type.
The Eskie can be 9 to 19 inches tall and weigh around 9 to 40 pounds.
Can be found in colors white, or white with biscuit cream.
Its gait is both agile and bold; its expression, meanwhile, is very alert and keen.
The American Eskimo Dog double coat, stands off the body, is water resistant, and insulates the dog against the cold.
The dog's small and thick ears also protect it from the cold.
American Eskimo Dog were once trained to perform tricks in circuses, and today they are treasured companions.
They are sweet, cuddly dogs, who form strong bonds with their human families.

  • I got mine for around $1050.00 USD, because he was the "runt" of the litter and sick at 12 or so weeks old. I gave him a small portion of rice, yogurt, and ground beef for a couple of weeks and he was right as rain ready to play and full of energy. The first year was all about teaching the boundaries and basic skills. After a year or so I trained him like a military dog, so you can shout commands as long as they understand it's not for punishing and not to do it in a scolding way, but an order with a reward for listening at the end. He was really easy to train and eager to learn. He's amazing and so accepting when I moved several times with other people and their pets. It took my brother's cat 3 or so months to warm up to him, but by the end they were cuddle buddies on the couch. Now he stays with my parent's dog while I'm away and I miss my old dog dearly as his 11th b-day is soon coming. He wigs out every time I visit with a big snarling smile as he dances around in crying joy. Of all the dogs I've had in my life he's got the most character I've seen personally.

  • So cute, caring, and egoistic. High energetic. Quick learner. I had two. Both are somewhat different personalities, but they are very loyal. My current one learned 3 human languages and body language without us teaching. Can't keep any secret from him. 😂

  • I have had and still have male and female eskies and they are fierce protectors. When you get insurance for your home you have to declare dogs like pitbulls, shepherds, dobermans.. American Eskimo are also in these categories. American Eskimo have great hearing and eye sight and will fight to keep you safe. They don't back down from anything

  • What's the difference from Canadian Eskimo?

    @RMGrafica@RMGrafica3 жыл бұрын
    • American Eskimo is a fancy name for a white German Spitz. This white German Spitz also may have other breeds mixed in and in particular, Volpino used to help create the toy and mini sized Eskimo. The Candian Eskimo dog only shares part of the name and that is all. They are native Inuit spitz breed of dog. American Eskimo makes for a good active family household. Candian Eskies are a bit more work to handle and train as they do far more thinking for themselves as a working breed.

  • Idk wtf I have then because my eskie is completely opposite of what y’all described in this video. I can’t leave her alone for one second she’s super anxious she doesn’t respond to training hardly at all and I’ve been trying since I’ve brought her home I walk her every day and I give her tons of attention and she still pisses and shits in my house despite knowing she’s supposed to go outside so I’m not sure what the hell ive got here. But she’s still the sweetest dog ever 😂

    • Try a regular feeding/exercise schedule, same time everyday, and one-on-one games and positive training with a gentle hand. They're fairly active dogs and need to exercise and activities to stimulate their mind. My dog would start chewing on things and bark if she was cooped up too long. She got 30-45 minute walk twice a day, and I would train her and play with her - hide n seek, snuffle mat, hanging out outside at the park, etc. Also, don't leave them alone for hours on end. They're companion dogs and love to be around their family. For separation anxiety, you want to build up alone time slowly. I would leave, then come back in five minutes a couple of times a day for a week, then 15 minutes, etc. Once my dog understood I would always come back, she was able to be alone for 5 hours. Eventually, I got a 2nd dog that she bonded well with, and they kept each other company. I would come home and they would either be cuddling or wrestling 😂 Mine was an Eskie/MinPin cross. She definitely got the Eskie temperament though. She was unusually sensitive, gentle, smart and responsive. All of this combined = best dog ever! I miss her alot 😢❤
