I'm so grateful to have directed this music video for Alanis all those years back. The concept was her idea and Liz Gazzano (the producer) and Sterling Storm (the art director) and I all made it happen. It was difficult, but a joy. And Alanis was amazing to work with. An inspired young artists to say the least. Thank you Alanis for such a great song.
Crabtron although it sounds crazy to see Mark Kohr himself commenting on thins video and no one reacting to it, it looks like you are indeed using this alias on social networks, so why not! You said too much to stop here, we need more details now! For example, I noticed two of Alanis musicians from that era make short appearances in this video, have I missed the others?
Great!!!!! Congratulations!!!! Tks tô share
Mark Kohr, is this really you? This video is still amazing. I have always loved it.
@@Brad772006 It is me. Thanks so much. It's great looking back on this video now. It's amazing how so many of the themes are still relevant. Thank you for appreciating it. Best Regards.
Is this a lie?
I am 60 year old Afro American woman and i have loved and adorn AM since the beginning of her career i went out there and purchased so many of her cassettes albums CDs she has got to be the most sophisticated charismatic lyricist songwriter i had ever heard in all my life ❤❤😅 i haven't the slightest clue as too why AM songs always makes me laugh and cry at the same time❤❤❤❤❤
Badass!!!!
What id like to know is how 30 years goes by that fast.. 🤷♂️
The 80's was the best musical era of all time, and the 90's was the last of real musicians.
Un peu 2000 apres c'est devenu du n'importe quoi
You can't explain the 90's to someone without talking about Alanis Morissette. It's scientifically impossible.
There will never be a decade in music like the 90’s. There was soul in every genre and there was a song from every genre in the top 40.
Absolutely correct
Z
Being 24 now and working in a workshop that plays all the old songs from 90s through to early 2000s. I can agree with you on that one, man I remember watching Foo Fighters pretender as a kid that was insane.
It was great being a teen in the 90s
It was a good time I'll always miss but I'll always listen to mostly 90s music and pre 90s because I like good music
“I’m here but I’m really gone” that one really hits hard
My Emotionally unstable personality disorder agrees
„I‘m tired but I‘m working!“ somehow as well..😶
@@oliviamuller7180 I'm wrong and I'm sorry, baby!
Wasted and out of touch? or just being so wasted that you forget who and where you are?
Her brain was never there. Dumbest lyrics since Madonna.
And what it all comes down to is Alanis Morissette is one hell of an artist.
JAGGED LITTLE PILL is one of those albums that I listen to start to end, no skip! Truly a masterpiece. The 90's is really the golden age of pop music, boybands, girl groups and divas!
"And what it all boils down to is that no one's really got it figured out just yet." Truer words were never spoken.
Pseudointellectual nonsense. Just like her stupid "Ironic" song.
Jagged little pill is one of the best albums of all time! It's crazy to think she wrote these songs in less than 30 minutes each at just 19 years old. To me, Alanis is in my Mount Rushmore of top musicians of all time!
I gotta check out more songs! I forgot about this gem.
She was only 19?!? Damn, Dave Coulier did her real bad lol 😂
@@gobbleswells2883 she went on Howard Stern recently & said that song was NOT about Dave Coulier like so many people believe it was. She would'nt give the name of who it was truly about, but she was able to eliminate a lot of the choices people though it might be about.
@@arielmedrano8098. Yeah, it's one of the extremely rare albums where each & every song is amazing, yet, she still had to fight in order to make this album. Her label wanted more "radio pop type music" being that she was apart of Canadian's version of Disney/Nickelodeon type of shows as a kid. She wanted to distance herself from that child like image & create music about real issues. At only 19, the fact that she was able to reinvent herself & create one of the best albums of all time is absolutely amazing!
@@derekwilson6407 She was apart of the Nickelodeon scene as well?? I don't recall that. Maybe the Canadian version? Is that a real thing? 😂 jk But makes me question who "You ought know" was about then...That perv, Dan Schneider? Things that make you go hmmm But yeah, this album was awesome. Every song was a banger and also, it was a staple of both growing up in the 90's & my childhood...
one of only a few albums were there isn`t a bad song on it JAGGED LITTLE PILL a masterpiece
Who listening in 2024 ❤🎉
LEGENDARY!!!!! ⚖️🃏✏️

As a kid you just know its a good song... as an adult it just hits the right places...

Especially right now
👀 bruh...
I agree
Use to run in a gym where her music and Sheryl Crowe played. Always helped pick up my pace!
This song makes me feel safe for a little while
Like no one can touch you here...
You are safe love ❣️
me too... too much nostalgia could bring back some sadness inside :(
Is like being ay home again, that home that is safe, and everything its honna be alright there.
Very good times
I am now 48... Oh dear, this song still lifts me up! Thank you!
Living in a time full of bad news and pictures of death, hate and catastrophes, this song and this video help me to believe, that mankind and life are not lost at all. And in my own life, after a year of sadness, and even today, maybe losing a beloved person, this song about life itself and its diversity and up and downs gives me hope - and always makes me cry, in a positive way. Thank you so much for making this!!!
I was 11 years old when this song was released, I would listen it on the radio or MTV when it was a thing. Now I'm almost 38, married, with one kid and another one on the way and I still haven't really figured it out my life just yet. If you are reading this and you are struggling in life, don't lose hope, try to stay positive and have faith. Eventually everything will be fine.
Thank you
36 this year boy do I remember
We're all a work in progess. Hang in there Mrs. Vazquez!
thx man, hope we all find this beautiful piece of happiness in our lives
I turn 46 this year, still trying to figure it out but have grown to realize I should've spent less time trying to figure out my life and more time really living it. If only I'd have listened harder back then and let it sink in; everything works out in its time
Holy shit...I remember getting this album when I was 13 or so. Back when mainstream music still had a few good musicians.
There is still some good music, though I understand where your coming from, with like taylor swift and all
13yr old male me asked for what I think was her greatest hits for Christmas. I got it! I think that makes young me awesome, but I'm not really sure.
This song was written when a high five was still cool. 😅😅😅
I'll never forget the 90's when things were so different then... now anymore and everything from my childhood is gone forever... two people I lost and now I feel like I lost a big part of myself anymore knowing they are really gone & I hope they both find peace and that they are both happy! 😊
As you age, you'll find this tune makes more and more sense.
GENIUS
True
I remember being a kid when this song first came out... that statement couldn't be more true.
This song is real. Food for my soul. Keeps me moving forward🤗
So TRUE
it's crazy how she time travelled and wrote this song for the future.
I feel stupid for asking this and maybe im totally missing something, but can you explain the significance of your comment. I've seen other people say something similar referring to Covid-19 but i still don't really get it.

This is one of the greatest albums ever, almost every song is a hit.
She’s a legit genius. A gift to life.
Lies again? Hand UFC Title
She really is. An INCREDIBLE songwriter. Sheryl Crow is the same. Raconteurs.
We're all geniuses, in some way 😊
She doesn’t understand irony, or pianos, but nobody’s perfect. 🤣 Always enjoyed her, though I fell in love with “Alanis Light” aka Nathalie Imbruglia. Generation thing, I guess. Millennials are always torn and Gen X can’t get their damn hands out of their pockets. 😂

"I'm smart but I'm stupid, I'm gay but I'm straight. I CROP DUST IN WHOLE FOODS BAYBUH"
“What it all comes down tooOOGHH”
This song simply has so much Bob Dylan charm and at the same time so much Alanis Morisette voice that it can only be an all-time favorite.

What a legendary artist, song, and approach to life. “What it all comes down to, is that everything’s going to be fine, fine, fine.” 🎵 Alanis Morissette Hand In My Pocket
I don’t care if I’m a 29 year old man or not, this is a Beautiful song BRAVO 👏🏼 Alanis Morrisette Mind you I was 5 or 6 years old when I FIRST heard this song on the radio as I was riding in the car, a few days later my mother put on VH1 & I saw the video
This song is not about being woman. It's about struggle, optimism, being young, being confused and trying to figure out stuff and this is not related to gender. You have nothing to be ashamed of, good luck :).
@Jerry B IV glad to see this song still packs the same punch. Was in my twenties when this song broke. So many nights at the beach this was our sing-a-long song. Our cry to the world, we were fine, fine, fine.
I'm a 35 year old man and I feel no shame its an amazing song that keeps on being relevant.

Aaah, Makes sense.
This is my anthem. Excellent job Alanis Morisette! Excellent!
What can i say that hasn't already been said about this classic song...the brilliance, the talent, of Alanis...
This song truly reconnects with my younger self in the 90’s. And I am ever so nostalgic about it.

This song resonated with me so much in my early 20s, and I still get the feels over 20 years later. Absolutely brilliant
Same but i was early teens. And the video was so iconic, remember seeing the diversity of people and realising theres a big world outside of my predominantly white middle class suburbia. Luv the 90s for this...
Giver yourself permission to be who you are when nobody's looking. Love yourself. Give yourself a minute of loving yourself. Right now before the song ends.
❤
HAPPY 25th ANNIVERSARY to Jagged Little Pill!!! Thank you Alanis Morissette for one of the greatest albums of the 90s!!
I’ve known this song for over two decades but these lyrics hit different when you’re a frontline healthcare worker in two LA hospitals during covid. After knowing this song for a couple decades I heard it differently today. I’m young and I’m underpaid...I’m sane but I’m overwhelmed...I care but I’m restless...im sad but I’m laughing...I’m tired but I’m working...IM BRAVE but IM CHICKEN SHIT! Keep pushing healthcare workers! Listen to this anthem 💪🏼
Thanks Denisse for doing what you do! I get what you are saying!
Thank you. My little brother got COVID-19 November 2020 and was on a ventilator for almost 2 months. We almost lost him twice but he pulled through.
Denisse Chavez: As far as I'm concerned, YOU ARE A TRUE AMERICAN HERO! God Bless you, for your service to our great nation. Hang in there; reinforcements are on their way. We have a real chance now to finish this damn disease... now that we have a REAL president.

You shouldn't be underpaid, it's not fair
Damn this song hits. Jagged little pill was like 1000 year's ahead of its time.
I am SO excited to see her in concert this August! 28 years of Jagged Little Pill, woot!

Thank you Alanis Morissette for all the great music you have blessed us with.
Why can’t all pop singers be this meaningful in their lyrics ??? 😫😫 crazy how talented she was at such a young age
Labels write music for their "stars". Morissette is an independent artist.
I love heavy metal, but I would put this album right along side any of my favorite rock records. An effing masterpiece
Yup. Jagged Little Pill is stacked. Top three album of the 90’s.

Metalheads loves Alanis songs. I'm from the type of grunge and I love this kind of music by Alanis.
As an old metal head now, I secretly loved her when she was on MTV, and I still do :)
Same here Bro!
This song popped into my head today out of nowhere. Never listened to the words until now. 26 years old and taking the signs as they come. Be kind, strangers of the internet. What a beautiful song with so much meaning.
Such a bop in 2023! Much needed music! 🙌🏾
You listened to her in the 90s as a kid and liked it but didn't know why. Now... she's fucking phenomenal. That voice and the lyrics. It's a billion times better now and makes sense. Can't even explain it.

Im happy to have lived in the era where she popped up and made it interesting.
Alanis Morissette, Blues Traveler, and Hope Sandoval (Mazzie Star) have never made the harmonica sound so good.
If someone tells you they don't like Alanis Morisette, it kind of a sign not to hang around with them.

YESS!! I still tell her haha (we're related) she's such a talented woman.
How many of us wish we would've realized the unique gift we were given at birth at such a young age (or if we ever do at all)? I think she was like 18 when she wrote this album.
This song got me through some dark postpartum depression days. Thank U Alanis. ❤
This song takes me back up when times were simple and life was easy. Now the world is one big mess. At least we have music to remind us of the good times 🙏
💯
it's not a mess now, but times were simpler back then forsure!
Damn she looks young here - I had no clue she wrote Jagged Little Pill at like 19/20 years old, such a great album for someone so young.
Tremayne Tyler Lorde was 17 when she dropped her fantastic debut album, as was Billie Eilish when hers dropped earlier this year. My sneaking suspicion is that there’s far more young talent out there than we’d realize, if only the major labels had more faith for something that pushes boundaries, rather than their tendency to settle for middlingly, mediocre music that all sounds so damned cookie-cutter-esque (due to so much of it being produced by the same few people). In the more classic vein, I think that most, if not all, of U2 were still teens when they released their fantastic debut album Boy; and, weren’t the Beatles barely 20 when they first started playing clubs in Liverpool and Hamburg?
@@GuadalupePicasso *cookie-cutter-esque*😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

A musical instrument from God.A true Godsend!
Before there was Avril in the 2000s, there was Alanis in the 90s. Both are awesome Canadian musicians!
and we have Miley in 2010's
Not even comparable... Alanis is an actual artist.
Josh Toms i know. Sure that Avril writes simplistic lyrics but they are relatable and you can relate to them. It's like Avril is reading your diary haha plus Avril sings better than Alanis no offense. Avril can play instruments too like guitar, piano, drums, bass and mandolin. Alanis is above Avril when it comes to songwriting. Alanis and Liz Phair are equal.

The best album of the 90' s, true meaning, a true genius.
Even as a big time hard rock and heavy metal fan from the 90's onward, I always liked Alanis Morissette. This song gets better with age. She recorded quite a few gems. This is only one of them.
