After years of trying to wear eyeshadow on my hooded eyes, I’ve finally realized I don’t need shadow to accentuate my blue eyes. Thank you, Wayne.
Love this eye technique! I do have one thing I want to beg people not to do....do not have anyone or yourself lick a Q-tip and then place it anywhere near your eye. This could have such potential harmful effects (I am a nurse - seen lots of this in my lifetime) - it is better to wet the Q-tip with eyedrops (non-medicated) or contact solution, which is made to go into the eye area. Try licking a Q-tip and putting it in a petri dish the way they test for other bacteria - you will never lick anything that goes into your eye again. Really enjoy your videos - looking forward to future ones!
Former RN came here to say the same thing. Do not lick a Q-tip and use it in/on the eye area. “Up to 9 percent of adults have detectable HSV-1 particles in their saliva, even with no symptoms at all.” No one wants Herpes in the eye area! Love this tutorial!! ❤️ Thanks, Wayne!
@@shellymoats1197 exactly! Thanks for expanding on this part!
Absolutely! My husband just retired after 40 years as an Optometrist. Eyecare > Makeup every day. Always be as safe as can be with your eyes.
I'm about to comment this! But i still love the rest as usual 💗
I remember seeing a friend take out a soft contact lens and spit in it and put it back into her eye.. OMG.. I was mortified!!!!!!! Even if it's your own spit.. never do that!!!
I remember seeing this technique in one of his videos several years ago. It's a little more time consuming but I've saved so much money on eyeliner! Us older gals definitely age ourselves if we wear too much eyeliner. Just looks too harsh and makes eyes less youthful. However the best eyeliner that I've ever tried is Smashbox since it's self-sharpening. But thank you Wayne for all your tips! You're a genius! And I always ask every single make up artist I meet if they watch your videos as I feel you are the BEST in the biz! Been a fan for at least 10 years now!
Very true about eye liner and age. I find that as I age I use as little as possible with eye liner. I know a woman in her 40s that puts on extremely thick eyeliner on her lower lashes. She puts 20 years on herself by doing that, imo. I find that eye liner and brows are tricky because either one or both can DEFINITELY age a person.
What is snashbox???
@@user-nn7jz7xg7q Smashbox cosmetics.
Even if I didn’t wear make up, I’d still watch your videos. You have an enormously soothing and calm demeanour and it does wonders for my anxiety.
I'd love to see a masterclass on lashes!
Dear Wayne. You are so generous with your tutorials. So useful. Thank you so much ❤️
I saw you do this life changing technique a while back and can’t live without your 08 brush💜
I love this push liner technique, it saves me having to purchase eyeliner. I just use the deepest eye shadow ( navy, burgundy, espresso, black, deep green) that goes with the colors I'm using. A slightly damp brush keeps the fallout minimal. It's so much easier using shadow than any pencil, liquid or gel (if you don't do winged or graphic liner looks)
Loving this Masterclass Series!!!!!
Wayne, I’ve been using this technique since you previously mentioned it and it has certainly opened and accented my eyes. I always tried to produce a thin line with a pencil, but this is so much better. And the interdental brush hack for mascara is a game changer! Any, any chance you will again offer the #8 brush? All the other brushes I have ever used produce way too much coloring along my lashline. Thank you for providing me with many years of superb info.
I’m so glad I saw you do this on an older video. It was tricky at first but it has been a game changer to my 62 year old eye look. I cannot do eyeliner on my waterline. Thanks so much Wayne Goss. I love watching your tutorials. God bless you!
Wonderful!
I love this technique because I don’t have the steadiest hand and pushing my liner into my lash line bit by bit is infinitely easier for me than trying to draw eyeliner on ~traditionally. Thank you for all you do, Wayne!
Same!
You're a genius, Wayne! I've been using this technique ever since I saw your push liner video... I don't know how many years ago. I'm 57 years old, and Mother Nature hasn't been kind to me in the last few years. My eyes seem to get more hooded by the day, and this is more amazing now than when I first tried it! "Time marches on, and pretty soon you realize it's marching across your face!" * Dolly Parton as Truvy in "Steel Magnolias".
Huge thanks!...Needed this one.
Boy do I need this! Thank you, Wayne!
Thanks for helping us consistently Wayne ❤
This is awesome. Thanks so much Ross. This master class rocks! 🤘
Love all you videos. I have been doing this, and love how easy it is. Thank you so much
Thank you, dearest Wayne ☀️☀️☀️💫
Amazing, thank you🌹
Thank you for showing this. I have never tried this and I’m definitely trying on my hooded eyes tomorrow. Looks like something I could do! Love these short videos.
Thanks again Wayne! I find this very helpful! ❤
What a difference that makes! I’ll have to try this💕
Thank you!
Love this Masterclass series, Wayne! Thank you for all the great tips. I’m always learning new things!
Thank you for your masterclass videos. They are really insightful and informative. I also like the wink at the end.
Thanks for the tip ! A nice alternative to tight lining. ☺️
Brilliant thanks so much I'll definitely be trying this adding to my saved videos 💞🥰💕
This has changed my life!! ❤️
Love this masterclass series. Thank you for doing it and thanks fir my favorite part, The Wink 😉
Thank you for explaining this in detail. I've heard a lot about this, but wasn't sure how to do it. Am going to attempt it today.
Excellent. Thank you.😊
I have used this technique since you originally showed it. This is amazing. You always have the best tips. ♥️
Muchas gracias desde España!!!
Watched one of these when you used a coloured shadow, several years ago now. It looked brilliant! Thanks Wayne.
Loving your Masterclass series thank you Wayne! 🌹 I started doing this technique from an older Wayne video using his #08 brush. I stink at applying pencil eyeliner and I can do this!
Perfect frame!😘👍🏻
This technique has been a game-changer for me!
Thank you! I will try to line first and see how it goes. I seem to be eating a snack about the time you are releasing videos right now.
I absolutely love your No8 brush to tight line. I bought it impulsively never imagining that I would get so much use out of it. It’s small and I’m always freaking out that I lost it..😍
I have very hooded eyes and I bet this technique will help my eyes open again. Thank you so much Wayne. Love you from California ❤
Hi Wayne, thanks for your great tutorials - always good advice. Which brush do you use for this technique?
Thank you
Thank you so much🤩🤩🤩
You’re welcome 😊
I am absolutely LOVING these Masterclass videos! Thanks, Wayne
Glad you like them!
Thank you for doing this, I have about 4 of those brushes and wondered what they were used for. Can I do this with my lower lash line as well?
Very helpful ☺️
Really enjoying this masterclass series. 😊
Thank you xx
Love that you are helping us old ( I mean Ageless) Broads~ love you~
Very cool
Love this technique.. I’ve been doing it for a while now .brush 08 isn’t available ..I use your lip liner brush it works out great ..❤️
Hi Wayne! Love you! I've been doing this for years, just figured it out on my own....had no idea it had a name! LOL - thanks!!!
Hi you are perfect thanks
Love u❤️ thank u
Thank you! 🙏 I'm so unhappy with my hooded eyes, but I'm scary go to blepharoplasty also I need much more time to do my perfect make up like years before 😃 and you give me always so great suggestions!
Useful , as always! im in my 50's and ive avoided liquid and pencil eyeliners for years, i always find the line they produce is too harsh, i've been doing this with a very dark brown powder, and its far better...but tomorrow i'll be trying it before , not after, the eyshadow..thank you!
I decided, at age 42, to get permanent (micro-bladed/tattooed) eyeliner on my upper lids - and I absolutely love it!! I searched reviews online to find the absolute best technician in my city because I was slightly terrified, but it was well worth the effort! I wake up and even if I feel terrible, I look great! It’s actually quite subtle, totally looks natural, but makes my eyes look fresh and I never have to apply liquid liner again! I had my eyebrows microbladed too, and I wish I’d done it years ago. You can even go swimming and pop out of the water looking perfect. Highly recommend; just do your research first to find the best person for the job! 😊
I love that your videos are ADHD friendly! Thank you Mr Goss 🥰
Me encantas!!!!
That’s a cool trick . I don’t have hooded eyes, but I could imagine how it would look for deep set eyes. Make them look big .
Even after the first coat it made such a difference.
I use a liquid eyeliner for my push liner and I love it! I’m not crazy about thick lines for my eye liner so this works perfect. I can’t wait for your mascaras to come back in. Best mascara I’ve ever used and I’m 58!
Great tip!
This looks like it might be a bit easier than trying to tight line with a pencil. And there’s my wink! Love it 💕
How about the three pronged felt tip liner for this? I have really watery eyes so struggle with pretty much anything but used to love the pronged liner and i see they have recently reappeared from Clarins this time. Ive bought one and will be trying this method of applying before anything else.
Where has this man been all my life???
I've been using this technique with a brownish/slate color shadow since I was a teen. I've tried other every day eye looks but alwayz come back to this. I apply a thin one coat mascara to only the tips of the lashes & it delivers the most natural look/no make-up! Love the brush, I've used only the slanted liner brushes for application which helps get the corners for me. 💖
Nikki is there one shadow in particular you use? I’ve been using this technique as well and the best shadow that works for me comes in the Urban Decay Nakeds 2 quad - it is the perfect cool slate brown color - but they don’t sell it in a single and i have been searching for the elusive dupe ever since! I always end up using all of that color and the other four still have plenty left! Xo
Have a great week ❌⭕
Woop first ❤️And I’m watching this from my hospital bed after a spinal fusion surgery 😀. Great techniques as always Wayne! Loads of love ❤️❤️💋💋xxx
🤗wishing you speedy recovery and please what’s a spinal fusion surgery 😅
Awww hope you're ok beautiful xxxxx
Oh goodness, that sounds tough - wishing you all best wishes for a very speedy recovery x
@@reserveeuphoric2283 Thank you 😊 So two of my vertebrae in my lower back were slipping over each other and I’ve had them screwed together with metal rods and a bone graft of my own bone inserted between the vertebrae

I can't apply eyeliner. Yesterday I applied it and it looked sooo good.
You are my idol... i wanted to be like you someday... sending hugs from USA
Wayne you are great, I’ve ben fooñllowimg you for a long time. Love from the end of the world. Cariños y éxito🇨🇱😘
❤️
Yes , I’ve been doing this because of my mature hooded eyes that have crepey ridges and makes my eyeliner skip
The ABSOLUTE best product I’ve found to do this is the Laura Mercier Tightline cake eyeliner and the LM flat brush. Just dampen the brush and make a paste (should not be runny). It’s the best. Waterproof and doesn’t budge or transfer.
Been using that for years. Tightline!
Thank you, I made a note of that!
This might be ok for regular eyes, but mine water a lot & its never waterproof on my eyes. It always runs & smudges. I use it just as it’s meant to be used, but it always smudges onto my bottom lash line as I apply, and throughout the day. I haven’t found one that doesn’t as yet 😢
@@sheilablake7913 Are you applying to the lash line? Not the waterline, but wiggling into the lashes.
@@brod77381 Yes. I just have extremely watery eyes, the minute anything is placed too close to them, or it’s windy, or anything! Lol.
Wayne why u so handsome
Holy guacamole!!! I did this at 10:30am, and it is 7:30pm, and it has not budged, smeared or fallen!!!!!!! Thank you Wayne for this little treasure!!!!
YEAH!!!!
I love this old but brilliant technique. I really appreciate you taking the time to bring these hacks, tips and makeup artists techniques. You're a little star Mr Goss and I love ya ❤
Would love to know what black shadow you are using?
Does anyone have recommendations for a brush like this? Thanks 😊
Microbiologist here… please don’t lick the cotton swab. The bacteria from your mouth could get in your eye and cause an infection. Water, saline, or eye drops would be much more hygienic! Love your techniques!
I was actually about to ask Wayne why we need to lick it..and will water work or what other solutions can be used to clean that area... like Celavive perfecting toner? or Celeteque toner, perhaps...something that's mild..
Licensed Esthetician here, and we have to follow so many sanitation guidelines, and this just made me cringe! I would think water would be better. Or, contact solution.
When will this brush come back in stock please?
I've not heard of a push liner brush before. Is this a specific brush?
Which brand of products are you using?
I have been "painting" the roots and tops of my lashes for a while because I'm blonde so my lashes are lighter and I try to fill in the spaces the mascara doesn't get so there isn't that weird gap. I think I'm going to start pushing it farther back and line, too.
Wayne's godly skills are out of this world
Is your pushliner brush available?
How do I prevent blackheads and clogged pores??? Especially in the nose area
Is there a way to make this last a long time, make it waterproof, etc.? This is the only way I like to do eyeliner, but I’m wondering how it will hold up on my wedding day (doing my own makeup).
I have a gel type eyeliner that I’m gonna try this technique with - seems like it would be more long lasting than shadow
@@Melody-285 I was thinking about doing that too 🤞
Wayne- What are your thoughts on inglot for tight-lining? I have such SENSITIVE eyes, that the eyeshadow technique, has fall out that goes into my eyeball down the road 😓😓 Not to mention the smearing from watery eyes. Any suggestions for a hypoallergenic product that wont smudge when you’re closing your eyes or have a fall out into your eyeballs 👀
I have sensitive eyes too so I don't think this will work for me but I'm going to try it and see.
💖
It’s none of my business but I think those peels really improved your skin.🙂
Under or above the lash line? I really suck at Liner and have huge brown eyes We
Can someone please recommend a similar brush? His #8 isn’t available.
You. Are. A. Global. Treasure.
Can anyone who does this speak on whether it is irritating to your eye? (not the saliva part near eye.. I would never risk infection like that) but wearing the shadow in the upper lash base inside the eyelid? Also, would this be acceptable with contacts in the eyes?
Dumb question but do you do this from the underside of the lashes or the top part of the lashes?
From underneath. It’s really easy, but having the right brush is the trick. It’s almost like you’re stamping it on.
Right into the root of the lashes, the bottom left looks to me like his brush is above the lashes.
💗💗👌👌
👏👏👏🤗
I learned this from you a while ago and it totally changed my eye makeup! I went from traditional upper lid eyeliner to this and it made a world of difference on my hooded eyes so THANK YOU! And licking the whip is exactly how I clean up also 😂😂
Love that!
I'm understanding this vedio What is put ????
Since I have seen this video, I have been hunting for the best push brush, and it turns out, yours is sold out in Europe, because there aren't loads on the market that do the job well. I read and read reviews, and haven't found another brand which works according to several reviews.
