1978 - Amazing Song 2023 - Still Amazing!
1 hours aster posting
I was only 18 back then and I’m still amazing too lol
yes
Siempre.
It was amazing for me in 1995, when I heard this song for a first time on TV commercial. I was bored with hip hop, eurodance, techno and grunge music, very popular at this time, thus I start to listen 70's pop & disco music.
No man does it all by himself. Young man put your pride on the shelf.. strong words
🙋
I have severe clinical depression, and my therapist said I should make a playlist of happy songs to put on every day. This was the first one I thought of. Anyone else think this is the happiest song they've ever heard?
In the mood

It sure is a good song. I hope you get better

so many things by rob symeonn. its not a particularly happy song from a rather unknown reggae artist but this song gives me a subtle feeling of calm and happy satisfaction. I hope you get better soon❤
I am a japanese. I cannot understand what they are singing well. But, this song makes me happy.

The media, and corrupt politicians have made us divided. Who knows when we'll come back together?
As a teenager I was homeless in the 70's when the the NJDSS put me up in a room at the Jersey City YMCA. I remember while riding the local bus this song was playing on someone's boom box; I was quite embarrassed because I lived at the "Y" and I felt as though all the eyes on the bus were upon me. At that time, mostly derelicts and old men lived there. Many more memories of that time and sadly, this was a good one.
Did they let you use the pool?
Actually...I wound up getting a job there working the midnight shift cleaning and maintaining the YMCA facilities; and as I had access to all the facilities, I was baptized in the YMCA pool by an AME minister (perhaps the only one ever to be baptized there). Another unusual feat I achieved there during my stay was that I broke the 4 minute mile (3:56 sec.) on their upper platform running deck (just above the gymnasium) after working the 8+ hours shift and later that same day after playing several hours of B-ball with the various doctors and lawyers that attended there every morning, I was challenged to repeat it but this time I did it in 4:06 sec. These events actually occurred as I have described them and I am not embellishing, just elaborating on my stay there and your question. Strange times nonetheless. @@ashblossomandjoyoussprung.9917
@@JoeSmith-tv1wobro if you were running a 3:56 mile why weren't you training with team USA for the Olympics or getting a scholarship to college?? That's a crazy elite time.
@@jackgraham96When you have been an orphan your entire life and then homeless once you turn 17 (no longer a ward of the state) the only thoughts/dreams I had was just finding a safe place to sleep at night and to get up enough money (via returning pop bottles) and courage to steal lunch meat at the local grocer, then buy a loaf of bread at the same store (bread was only about .25 - .30 a loaf). Sometimes I would walk around the store for 1/2 hour just trying to muster up the courage to steal the lunch meat (fortunately for me they didn't have cameras back then). Additionally, there really wasn't any proper guidance, love or discipline in my life. I'm not saying "woe is me" I'm just answering your question as truthfully as I can without going into great detail. I will say this though, about that same time I did get the love I was lacking from repenting of my sins and having a personal relationship with God through His Son Jesus, and at 63 years of age now, I still have that relationship with Him and I have been fortunate enough to share the gospel with thousands of people, both individually and over the airwaves. It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A. You can get yourself clean, you can have a good meal, You can do whatever you feel... Young man, are you listening to me? I said, young man, what do you wanna be? I said, young man, you can make real your dreams. But you got to know this one thing! No man does it all by himself. I said, young man, put your pride on the shelf, And just go there, to the Y.M.C.A. I said, I was down and out with the blues. I felt no man cared if I were alive. I felt the whole world was so jive... That's when someone came up to me, And said, "Young man, take a walk up the street. There's a place there called the 'Y.M.C.A.' They can start you back on your way." It's fun to stay at the Y.M.C.A.
