Today I'm reviewing and testing the Mig 200 Welder by Arc Captain. It's a Multi Process MIG Welder rated at 200 Amps, both 110V and 220V capable. With the optional Tig torch, it can also weld Aluminum. It's affordable and very simple to use!

    • I have a concern. Why is the welder that I received yesterday different from the one that you sent to this guy??? Mine has a 120 volt power cord with an adapter to step up to 240. This is obviously a potential hazard. Are you giving these influencers your new and improved product and sending out the old dangerous crap to real paying customers??? Shame on you 👎👎👎

    • @@arccaptain-weld You couldn’t pay me enough money to keep that thing. No thanks.

    • It's actually easier/cheaper for that setup. A 220/240 going down to a 110/120 plug is easier on electricity than the other way. Both are safe and okay but the way you get it is completely fine.

    • @arccaptaun-weld where is a good place to purchase extra rollers? Does the machine come with .035 rollers? I'm buying a machine this coming weekend and just want to have extra consumables.

    • @@jeffk5713 My concern is that if someone uses the 220 to 110 adapter for a tool that is not compatible with 220. Even though the odds of that happening are slim why take the risk. The arc captain comes with one .035 roller for flux core and one for solid core wire. I ended up returning the Arccaptian and bought the Yeswelder MiG 205ds-b for $270 from Amazon. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • Would you recommend this as a first welder to someone who has not welded? I’m interested in dual voltage as my shop doesn’t have 220 currently. But one I can grow into as I potentially do more structural stuff down the road. I don’t foresee welding aluminum in the future, but things always change - is it spool ready for aluminum welding? Thanks!

    • I think this would be perfect for a beginner, as the guesswork is taken out with the fine tuning capability. I haven't tried welding aluminum yet, so I'm unsure of the exact process. Different gas (100% argon) is also needed for aluminum, so I'll need to buy that as well.

  • Hi! I want to buy a Mig welder and I was looking for Arccaptain mig200 but recently I found out that someone is selling a second hand (like new) Parkside PMSG 200A1 for half the price of the Arccaptain mig200. Could you give me an advice if I should go for the Parkside (because it's less expensive) , it is good enough? Thanks

    • Hi, sorry but I’ve never used or heard of Parkside, so I can’t speak for their value.

  • What breakers are you using? Going to get a 220 outlet installed and wondering if 30 amp is enough?

    @haze1995@haze19955 ай бұрын
    • I used 60A breaker (dual 30 amp) Here's a video of what I used and how I installed the 220 in my garage kzhead.info/sun/dcVyZ86OcIabaHA/bejne.html

  • Never heard of that brand, dont know how you found it, looks nice though. Thanks for sharing and may you have many thousands of hours of good welding times with it ... and of course show us all your cool projects 😎 p.s. I will admit Im skeptical about the aluminum capabilities, for example I doubt there is an AC TIG ability, but hopefully it will fully meet your needs (nothing wrong with lift TIG on a budget) 👍

    • The MIG200 currently does not support AC TIG functionality, but its ability to weld aluminum using a Spool Gun will exceeds your expectations.

  • Right off the bat, the first issue is the torch lead is too long. Laughter down the back - but welders will know. A cheap wire-feed single roll unit is fine if the torch lead is real short. If the torch lead is real long, you'll hate the machine pretty fast. First thing I would do to this in order to have a semi-reliable machine would be to halve the length of the torch lead. I'd cut it down. Single roll feeder can push flux-core 1.5m, maybe 1.8m tops, reliably. Anything longer and you'll have constant feed/birdnesting issues. Pretty much. I see cheap machines shipping with 3m torch leads - 4m even. Lol... not off one feed roller you ain't. It will work - but not for long. Cut it down to 1.5m. Thank me later.
