I think it turns into valuable practise when the game goes this far because they so seldom do. But yeah, Serral's been slower to gg anyway after the drop against Ragnarok.

Ghosts can: - Insta half kill big chunk of protoss army (EMP shields) - Snipe heavily armored bio units like Ultras - Deal extra damage to lightly armored units with basic attack - Force uproot on multiple spores/spines or at least force out a lot of APM from oponent (Nukes) - Zone out enemy armies (Nukes) - Detect invisible enemies (EMP) - Basically insta kill archons (EMP) - Be healed and picked up easily by medivacs - Outrun banes without speed outside creep (lol) - Shoot air - Cloak ??? Seriously, it's the only spellcaster in game with FOUR great abilities AND a good basic attack

Seems clear that the nerf to infestors means even serral now struggles to close out against ghosts.
Soon another player will find the solution, and Serral will copy it. He does not create, he copy and improve (that is nothing wrong). Played the game for almost his entire life, and even copied the Erik's build, not long ago
yeah, Serral traded so badly into Clem at the end. I don't think the nerf is the worst thing since it was silly watching Serral micro 3 infestors to try and get fungal hits before every fight. But we now risk a situation where both sides don't want to engage with the other in the late game, like how Airtoss use to be.
@@nmgaro2156 Serral doesn't just copy solutions, he arguably perfects them, too. He may not be the most creative player, but he certainly has the cleanest execution. Which should be even further vindication for EriK, to see that the GOAT took his opener strategy, used it basically exclusively for the better part of a year, and found great success w/ it, so much that others are starting to try it out now, even though Serral has mostly stopped using it.
Unpopular opinion time, as a casual Terran player but avid replay/cast watcher, I have thought for roughly 2 years now that ghosts need to be nerfed strongly. Atm I think reducing their max range for Steady Targeting down to 11 or at least close to it is needed. Having 11 sight but being able to complete a snipe up to 13.5 range. I also think it should be reduced to 100dmg (+40 vs Psionic).

@@justinsaunders110 Decent scouting and a nydus is really good protection. Things like this, overlord poop, and overseer contamination are things I've always wondered why we dont see more of
@@bloodydove5718 Nydus cost a drone + money for the worms and it's lair tech, overlord poop puts them in bad spots for scouting and higher chance to see them killed (supply blocks), contamination is cause overseer energy replenish extremely slow (you get maybe one cast at best and it's easy to kill the overseer going for it most of the times).

Overlord poop puts them in a bad spot for scouting... but do you use All your overlords for scouting All the time? How often do you have overseers who are just banking energy that could be spent doing something. And if you're using that overseer to flyby scout, you might as well mess with their production or research; solid way to mess up their timing attacks or hamper their ability to defend against yours

I would say the Zerg Queens are more broken.
I mean Ghost have high damage, long range, anti air, cloaking and fast movement. Queens are much slower, lower damage, shorter range and no cloaking.
@@HandsomeGamerGuy The queens are strong, which is why they are also given obvious weaknesses. The problem with ghosts is that they don't really have a weakness. They are strong at everything and are not hard countered by anything really. Espeically against zerg, they pretty much counter all late-game units. An infestor nerf is yet another ghost buff since it's the only unit that can do anything against them and even then it requires a great deal of setup and luck.

I feel like Serral maybe should have went back to zerglings instead of making so many queens. Clem had only a few tanks left at that point and most of his army was vikings, ghosts and thors which are all good against broods and weak against zerglings. Also, bring back infested terran!

I'm surprised Serral opted to go so heavy on broods when there was still so much air in Clem's army. He basically got rid of all his anti-air to make more... slow anti-ground units.

Infester nerf is entirely just. Specifically reducing the random factor to make the infester more consistent should definitely be done. Think back to when they nerfed lurker and widow mine burrow/unburrow times after the upgrade. 0.31 seconds was deemed too fast to react to so they made it ~0.5. This infester nerf should have already been done. It's entirely unreasonable that they could unburrow at a speed deemed impossible to react to a few years ago.
Snipe has way to much range
AHH I was hoping Lowko was gonna check if the Master Tank was still alive, I think he still was but maybe brought back to the main army at the end. I wonder what his final kill count was.
I think, or rather choose to believe, its the one sitting in the grass patch just south of the extractor at the end.
He changed position to the right side to protect the last terran base that was mining and didn't kill anything more afaik, so 130 and alive at the end of the game.

im wondering why zerg proplayer when they have 5-10k stock or more resource than the opponenent, why they dont just build like extra 5 or more lair to stock those larva, seen plenty times they got so much money but lost because no more larva to train more unit in time.

I think there is 1,500 minerals per field, so X 8 = 12,000 minerals per base, so just think of that number in the resources lost equation. (Could do same with gas.)
So at the end of the game, Serral had lost 28K more than Clem. That's more than 2 bases worth of minerals, which his roughly what Serral had.

That kind of turtle strategy seems to leave the heart extremely vulnerable. A couple of ultras and lings could probably destroy all of the infrastructure while the ghosts are defending either of the perimeters.

I don't understand why Clem didn't train marauders to mix into his bio squads after seeing so many roaches in the first game... the cyclones and tanks made sense, but marauders seem to be more cost effective in that situation
Finally, a map where the players actually mines out. So annoying when there are games when the players "run out" of resources, yet there are patches are minerals which combined to like 1000 or something.

Yes he look very strong in this game from Clem but how many player manage the ghost that well ? If you nerf the ghost, Terran (pro player) have absolutly no way to win a late game. Just imagine Terran dealing with any late game unit of zerg ou protoss without ghost. It's impossible.

Games like this make me think that Zerg needs a little extra in the ultra late-game. Maybe add a "hero" unit like the Mothership: the Leviathan, which effectively has the cost and attack stats of a Mothership, but within a radius of itself say 16-20 supply of Zerg units don't count towards the supply cost, effectively letting Zerg field slightly larger armies in the ultra-late game?
I find the biggest problem with late game zerg is you either attack ground or air, there's no units that do both. If you make too many broods and they make vikings, you lose. if you have too many corruptors, ghosts can snipe all your broods. That and ultras are useless.
It won't matter, Ghosts will just snipe them out of the sky 😂
Respect to Clem for passing the replay on anyway. There's no shame in his game.
Terran gets fastest 3rd possible at 4 min, Z takes off gas after 100, 3rd at 2:30/30 supply, scouts at 4 min verifies T fast 3rd, z takes 2nd gas at 5 min, at 5:30 takes all gas. gas banked used for 1/1 rather than defending 2 base. the 4 min mark is when an econ build vs 2 base build happens via a 3rd or tech. having not watched more, if T goes ghosts u have to minimize the gas units u have, so in unit diversity, only have 4 of gas units rather than 8 for example, then mass ling. But T likes to turtle and use the longest range units in game, so i just leave them alone then trade/prevent their next expac by using mineral units to trade while mass expanding, z can end a base ahead and trade less effeciently. the key is to avoid corruptors as they reduce ur gas, and to use minimal resources to defend harass, which is the biggest problem is the BC warp harass and liberator extreme range. the atk at 5 min was very not interesting, and this is why the first 4-5 min is the main event

yeah i dont know, trying to keep terrans away from slowpushing your bases with ghosts seemed very painful, loooooots of ultras died for that without dealing damage. in that scenario i feel like it is not that hard for terran to play with 9/7 recource efficiency vs zerg. and yes with terran i mean clem/maru and with zerg i mean serral (yes there are other zergs at high level but they dont play as recource focused as serral does usually).
