This is an ad council commercial for 'being a good dad' funny video shows Godzilla and Son goofing around. Music from The Courtship of Eddie's Father.
Came from my years on the ad business. We'd get PSA's to run and I hung onto this one.
This video is hilariously popular.
Anyone wanna talk about how Godzilla's a better father than Goku, Homer Simpson, and Peter Griffin?
Godzilla was actually very abusive to his son but at least he was there.

This commercial always made me think of my mom. God rest her. When my dad died, she was both mother and father to me. So from my own personal experience, I guess that Godzilla was or had to be both madre and padre to his son.
My argument to anyone who questions Godzilla's gender and believes he might be female: He's frikkin "KING OF THE MONSTERS!"
Also, he's Godzilla. Not Goddesszilla.
It actually changes from time to time. Godzilla has been both, sometimes even at the same time. It should be worth noting that NEVER in any Japanese version of Godzilla has it been called "King of the monsters."
Manilla is not his birth son. He was born from the same atomic waste. He grew up to look a lot like Godzilla but they are not real father and son. He just sort of started parenting him.
@@xain453 There's a theatrical release of the 1956 Godzilla: King of the Monsters in Japan known as Monster King Godzilla. That, and Minya refers to Godzilla as "Papa".
Toho and Godzilla Co-Creator Tomoyuki Tanaka have confirmed Godzilla is male. Jun Fukuda who Directed Son of Godzilla said he was male in that movie too. People need to do research so we can end these stupid debates, to me these debates and pointless speculations are just as bad as Godzilla 98.

In the world of monsters one must be strong. Like a lion roughing up his cubs, Godzilla was preparing his adopted son for the world.
I'm a little disapointed we didn't see godzilla and minilla hugging in the snow. As that is the best father moment and most heartwarming moment of the film.

I love Godzilla.
This was one of my first exposures to Godzilla and it scared the shit out of me as a kid. Especially Minilla who looked so uncanny and haunting. I seen it once and I go "What the f*ck is that thing?"

I never saw it until now (July 28th, 2009 1:00 A.M.) and it sure does give you a good feeling.
Godzilla is not a female, he's always been a he... The 1998 American remake's "Godzilla" was re-dubbed Zilla. Zilla is an "it" not a "she" since it reproduces by itself... The original Godzilla (Japanese version) never "lays an egg" -- he always finds the egg and adopts the child.
Exactly. Yet people still want to debate his gender even after Toho has confirmed many times that Godzilla is Male.

He's just a strict father is all (a study nut if I recall correctly). After all, Tokyo's not going to destroy itself. :)
first of all godzilla finds the egg,second he only lays eggs in the american movie which isn't even the same godzilla,and lastly you need to watch the real japanese godzilla movies tto know the character.

Kyle Chandler in an interview said "King of The Monsters and the fact that they use Male pronouns are all semantics to him and he has a different view on it." He talks about how Godzilla could be female and he watched every Godzilla movie in preparation for the role. Apparently he did not do any research. He should have been told that Toho confirmed Godzilla is male and avoid spreading these fallacies.

Well you were would be correct. Minilla is adopted, very reluctantly so because Godzilla at first wants nothing to do with him at first but then decides to take him in mostly out of loneliness and a new found sense of responsibility.

Um, are you sure Godzilla had laid the egg or was it just discovered on an island ala Son of Godzilla? I never Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla II so i'm to sure unfortunately.
He laid neither. Toho confirmed that Minilla and Godzilla Jr. are both adopted and they have confirmed that all versions of Godzilla are Male except Shin Godzilla who is Asexual. Jun Fukuda the Director of Son of Godzilla even said Godzilla was Male in that Movie. In an interview seen on the extras on the Blu Ray of Godzilla vs Biollante, a guy from Toho explicitly referred to Godzilla as Male. Also in the Movie they compare Godzilla and Biollante to that of a Brother and Sister (Biollante is Female). In Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla II, Baby Godzilla is revealed to not be the same species but a relative of the Godzilla Species.
How did this have a 99% like when there is the dumbest character in history of most things and yes im talking about minla or idk how to spell it. Somehow u people think its adorable when the character is just nothing like godzilla at all!
I watched the movie, it's just a made up fantasy of a Japanese boy. Godzilla's son can even talk in it. It was a stupid movie, but I always thought this commercial was adorable.
@@litigioussociety4249 There are three movies that feature Minilla, or Minya. Son of Godzilla(1967), Destroy all monsters (1968), and the one you are referring to is called Godzilla's revenge(1969). This commercial is a well edited compilation of scenes from all three films.
