Mind blown guys.

  • The inverted swept wings create a very high CL and allow the aircraft to fly at low speeds without stalling. The shape of the SR-71 fuselage acts as a canard that further increases the CL. It is a great combination, the problem with inverted wings has been the high manufacturing cost due to resistance.which are exposed to great dynamic pressure. Good video keep having fun 👌🏻

  • haha you praised too much how fast it can be printed ;) the pitch reaction is a bit slow because elevators are bit small as the plane lacks adjustable canards and is very long. nonetheless congratulations to the great design. i had the same HOLY feeling when trying forward sweep, it completely changed my thinking about aerodynamics, FS wings are more efficient, they generate more lift and less drag by smaller wing area. You can fly it manual which is great but if you can get rid of the vertical stabilizer and use spoilers for example it will even be more efficient. some inbuilt reflex is very good for FSW still i would change the CG more back until it becomes at the edge of controllability and then use a gyro, by this you get the most of the forward sweep, which is to sustain lift and controllability at higher angles. the plane could fly stable without vector thrust even at very high AoA which also facilitate landing

    • Actually I was saving to pay him to cad my design, when I inquired how to go about paying him ( this is before anything was done ) he offered to do it no charge. I didn’t ask for anything free. But what he didn’t say was that he wanted to own it and profit from it. I offered 50/50 because he kept saying I can’t charge you but he didn’t say he wanted to own it. Then he got upset said I didn’t have interest in my design until I saw him maiden it. Mind you not only did I sketch up my idea I made a small prototype first and did the glide test myself, found the cg, found general placement of the electronics, mocked it up for 50 mm edf all before i met Kyle and I gave him all of that info prior to the build or flight . So yeah it was my project that i brought Kyle on thinking he wanted to help not take my design and was pretty rude about it.I kept telling him i wanted to work it out that we both must have had a misunderstanding let find a way to both be happy, but that wasn’t in his plans . He went as far as to give me the my sister is a lawyer line. Yeah im sorry this didn’t work out but im still going to continue this like i was before Kyle and who knows 🤷🏾‍♂️

    • Oh and after trying to blame me for him building my jet and fly . Which I never asked him to as a matter of fact when he offered the no charge he said that he liked the design and had some 40mm edf laying around that needed a home so I dont understand how when we couldn’t come to an agreement he tried to charge me for filament and electronic like I made him pay for something he didn’t want. So actually he didn’t offer our original deal which I was trying to pay he added an extra $40 lol yeah bad business all the way around. His argument was I never said I wanted ownership but neither did he and definitely didn’t say I didn’t want to own my design. I tried working with him but he was being super rude and unreasonable.

    • @@mistaswishasweetslenoir1184 lol just post the emails if you want. Everything I said was factually correct. You were totally onboard with everything zero complaints until the maiden day. Amazing right?! Once the jet flew great…. 💰 💰 what a waste of time. You never intended to pay

    • This design has forward swept wings which no SR-71 style plane ever had, in fact there has only ever been about 5 X-Planes to have ever been produced and 'none' have ever gone into production, so I don't understand why any rights have been violated, no SR-71 ever had forward swept wings 😅

  • I would have enjoyed this far more without that over excited commentary! The model reminds me of a free flight one I made, forward swept wings with a higher aspect ratio, very thin balsa stick fuselage, and canards, powered by a Cox .020 pusher. The fuselage always snapped in front of the wings whenever it hit the ground. Not my most successful model, but it looked nice!
